  1. A bit naïve about HID’s. All I know is they are brighter, use less power and the all import look good factor. Whats with the 4500k – 6000k? Are Phillips supposed to be better compared with others? Cheers Steve V
  2. Thanks for all of your replies. Looks like I better get one ordered then:) Cheers Steve V.
  3. Getting my Soop mid Sept & am starting to buy a few bits. Can i fit the HKS Type R FMIC with the standard nose cone or have i got to lash out and get one which accepts a front mount? I dont mind cutting a few un-neccessary bits of (saves weight:D ) Its very standard, with only a replacment exhaust - planning for the future. PS it hasnt got the auto front lip spolier to worry about taking off (manual VVTi TT) Many thanks Steve V
  4. Thorin, took me a year to find it:eek: nearly totally standard & blue - a right fussy bugger:D but i cant wait for it....... sideways to work every day:D 400 will be good to start with. going to get used to it first (try to anway) eyefi, are you saying the Apexi fuel controller wont work on the vvti? the only other one i've seen is hks which i wasnt keen on:( Forgot to look at greddy. Are any of you using any gadgets as well? & how do you get on with them? Ease of use / Setup ect. I dont mind farting around when seting them up, but want easy single push buttons for different modes when on the fly:) Cheers Steve V
  5. Getting a VVTi, Face Lift, year 2000, Manual, TT, RZ-S soon and….. Looking at adding some electronic gadgets and would like some advise from end users. I will be doing the usual BPU (Exhaust / Full-decat / Down pipe / FMIC / FCD / Management / Injectors / Fuel pump / Etc) (+the other bits to help me stay on the road). I would like to end up woth around the 400-500bhp mark with supplementing products to make it work properly, but the first thing is going to be an alarm and have chosen against the built-in turbo timers and go for a dedicated one with a sensor for variable/accurate extended running. The alarm is going straight on when it arrives and a turbo timer, so would like to start off on the right track for a decent amount of upgrade rather than having to change/upgrade later on. I would prefer to pay a bit more now rather than having to change the setup later. I would like to have a complemented system set-up all from the same manufacturer (ideally?) Turbo Timer Boost Controller Fuel Controller +? Apexi Blitz HKS others? Any pro’s & cons is what I’m after & whats the benefit of the Fuel Controller. Talking to a retailer, I quite the idea of varying the amount of boost throughout the revs & gears which the APEXi seems to do (with the benefit of the air/fuel mixture meter in the turbo timer) but the BLITZ looks better and has a few more gadgets on it. Not that impressed with HKS level/design of electronics, although I don’t know how reliable/accurate each make is. Anything for pot, please chuck it in……… Many thanks. PS. its killing me waiting for it to arrive:(
  6. Put me down for a copy please - price depending but i'm sure it'll be fine Cheers Stephen PS. When i questioned my local toyota dealer a few months ago about the manual they said there were 3 manuals:conf: any thoughts??
  7. Cheers to all above. I dont know exactly how the limiter works on my car, but it felt the same. I tjerked you forward. I presume a fuel cut. The Supe then got going again a 5mph slower. There was no juddering, just a very defined shut off. I was concerned why the warning lights still stayed on, even when i turned everythinig off and on again? Not going to buy it - a bit sus. I'm going to keep looking for a manual i think. :D
  8. No, much further a field. I wouldnt like to say where it was in case he reads this. It still had the KM speedo with no MPH on it.
  9. Trying to buy a Supra and took one for a test drive at the weekend (i need one sooo badly now) J-Spec, 96, Auto, TT, Few mods. The bloke selling it (trade) said it had the limiter taken off,but when i floored off the slip road, it hit around the 112mph mark (wasnt looking at the time) and it came to a sudden halt (just the same as my import prelude - still limited). A triangular '!' warning light came on in the rev counter area and the engine management light came on as well. When i got back i turned the engine off, waited a while & turned it back on but the lights where still on. Did i break it? music: Hopefully i get one for the JAE meet
  10. Happy chappy:D :D Cheers Gordon

    BRAKE advice

Given up on trying to find a UK manual TT, so now approached the importers to find me one, BUT will probably end up with the Jap brake setup with thimble sized 2 pots and 295 discs. (looking for a VVTi facelift) Any advice on: 1. UK 6pots with 320mm disc. 2. Cost. 3. Performance/longevity. 4. Pad options. 5. Any options on the rears. Went to the motorsport show (not fantastic, but ok - dont do the show, only if you want to Jo Guest :flame Dev 1/2 a mile away), and picked a load of brake companies details up. was looking at: 6. AP 6pots with 356mm grooved discs £1500:(rrp - complete kit) 7. Rear replacements. Any thoughts pro/cons? are the AP's an over kill, especially given the price? They will get very hard road use. Wheels will be 18" - still looking around. Anything would much appreciated.
