  1. Robert Green, Bruce Grobbelaar called and wants his goalkeeping back.
  2. England looking VERY sloppy. Poor passing, decision-making and defensive lapses mean there is a fair bit of work left to do... but sublime work by Heskey & Gerrard. When England are attacking, they look the goods!
  3. No "ears" - looks much cleaner and flowing with stock lines. I'm half with you regarding carbon parts - I don't like carbon splitters and diffusers simply because they will get damaged too easily with road driving. All bets are off if it's a track car though
  4. I couldn't sell it. Firstly, it's not finished Secondly, I've invested a bit of money in it that I'd never get back. Thirdly, there's very little out there that compares (aesthetics, performance, comfort) for the same price. Lastly, I have an Aristo now for touring and daily-driving.. meaning the Supe will get the best of everything even more.
  5. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=530737 Almost all the info you'll ever need on divided vs undivided manifold & turbine housing, a/r sizing, and turbine efficiency for purpose.
  6. haha yeah I had a quick check online and I now think I was totally talking out of my arse. Thanks for correcting my faulty understanding - wetting the wrap and stretching it while applying it simply means that it tightens when it dries.
  7. You need to wet it to activate the fibreglass resin. Just don't rub your eyes.
  8. Nope, I got the tuning shop to get it done. Can't recall what it is, but probably some generic high-temp coating.
  9. A little writeup from my efforts http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=836719&postcount=337 I've been meaning to do this for some time now - I thought the benefits of insulating as many exhaust parts as possible was an excellent idea for a couple of reasons: 1) massive reductions in underbonnet temperatures (which without a vented bonnet have already resulted in some plastic parts melting!) 2) some increase in turbine spool speed. There has been a lot of conjecture and anecdotal suggestion that heat-wrapping leads to manifold cracking and/or faster deterioration of exhaust components. However, I have dealt with this possibility by initially purchasing a high quality thick stainless steel HKS manifold, then high-temperature ceramic coating it, then wrapping with 1" fibreglass-based heat-wrap, and finally sealing the cured wrap with high- temperature engine enamel. Tools required Heat wrap - prior to soaking in water BEFORE: Stainless steel HKS manifold AFTER HEAT-COATING: Fully wrapped and cured manifold Sealed & wrapped manifold

    Sharks

Haha yeah.. although I was more comforted by the fact that Great Whites are pelagic cold-water fish and prefer seals to humans (well, unless you're wearing a black wetsuit and can be mistaken by notoriously poor-sighted sharkies ), and I was swimming in nice warm tropical waters which only have Bull sharks (the most aggressive and dangerous species)... wait, WHAT?

    Sharks

Haha well, I mistook feet for metres That's probably why the idea of Jaws always made me shit my pants when swimming
  12. That would have to be at retail prices.. there's no way Andreas would pay that much with an employee discount!
  13. Cool, thanks for the info, mate. Good luck with it all, I will be watching closely. As for me, I will be visiting home in Feb/March next year to renew my UK visa (and maybe packing the car up to bring over here) and will make a swing south to catch up with the ACT & ESP boys. I'm hoping at some stage the Vic/ACT club meet will happen, but it still looks a while away as quite a few cars aren't 100% finished.

    Sharks

Sharks are cool. * For starters, their Ampullae of Lorenzini were described by my university lecturer as so sensitive to electrical activity that they can detect the equivalent of an AA battery in Australia from New Zealand (about 1500 miles)! That's pretty damn sensitive. * They don't need a swim bladder like bony fish - their livers are large and contain a specialised oil for buoyancy. * They are so perfectly adapted to their role as an apex predator that sharks haven't evolved for millions of years (like crocodiles). However, an ancient species of Great White called Carcharodon Megalodon was about the size of Jaws (20+ m)!
  15. Funny you should mention this - I just watched their video tutorial yesterday 6rTWaV1imzs
  16. Just had a quick search for the thread, and can't find it anywhere.
  17. Yes - username on SF is JustForFun. I think one of the main reasons it was feasible for him to do it was a) he worked for Toyota b) he is a crazy Swede Plus, he finished the car and promptly sold it
  18. I don't know much firsthand about the ViPeC - my friend Niko had only just had it installed (when the ViPeC was just released) and ESP hadn't fully played with the settings when I left Australia. I *do* know that his anti-lag works very well (28 psi on launch!) However, I'm told it doesn't have the noise issues causing breakdown at high rpm and high boost like the Autronic which is why I want to change. I believe it (ViPeC) has knock control (possibly as part of the autotune function).
  19. Ahh, sorry to hear about your troubles. I've been pretty lucky, I suppose, as Glen and Daniel @ ESP in Canberra are top notch. I'm looking forward to seeing how you go, as I'm looking to upgrade from my Autronic SM4 in the near future and haven't decided between the Solaris (which gets a good rap over here) and the ViPeC.
  20. I'm surprised he didn't suggest a full standalone like the ViPeC - most of my friends in the ACT Supra Club are running this on their singles.
  21. Looking forward to your results. Great work so far
  22. Depends on how much you want to modify your car to fit the rims.
