  1. Cracking idea, Dude! How do we start the donations? Will this be a sponsorship from the Supraforum, and thus we can donate via the club bank account?
  2. Well, while I'm not the most experienced in driving in London, I found it a nightmare to get to and from the M4 through Richmond at 3 p.m. For my money, I would always take the A3.
  3. Awesome build. I'd love to do a sheet-metal restoration/retrotech on a 70s muscle car at some stage.
  4. Good link. Unfortunately, the only people whose opinions seem to matter in this world are the ones who believe everything they see in the press without critically evaluating the subject matter.
  5. Nice work, Darryl - light at the end of the tunnel, mate!
  6. Another possible option could be the Twins Turbo water neck rotation kit: http://www.twinsturbo.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=9&category_id=25&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=8 Just allows you to redirect the water neck more anteriorly to provide more space for charge piping.
  7. Yeah, I assumed that - got to have Big Brother keeping an eye on everyone
  8. Well, that would explain why Vettel was so upset. I can see Mark doing it, as he is a proper team player, but I agree that it seems unlikely. Not sure about this one... but Vettel was complaining that his headset wasn't working properly. Is there someone on the Beeb listening in to all radio comms between car & engineer?
  9. One theory that was floated yesterday in discussions at work was that there were team orders for Vettel was to hang back as much as possible on the safety car to back up the pack, and allow Webber to gain a good advantage - which would allow him to pit and retain the lead, and as a payback Webber would allow Vettel to pass him for a 1-2 finish.
  10. Just tuned into the highlights - great work by Mark (with a bit of luck with the safety car) and again Vettel shows his immaturity both by turning yet another pole into a relatively poor result and crying about it afterward. Disappointing for McLaren - Hamilton seems to be on a tear lately, and if not for mechanical failure would still be points leader (or near enough).
  11. Looks a lot better. For mine, though, there's no point CF wrapping dash panels unless the weave lines up cohesively. Otherwise, everything is nice and clean (as we should expect from you ).
  12. Loving the high-spec painter's stepladder.. er.. "frame"
  13. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/auto_to_6spd_swap/index.html http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211926
  14. What settings are you using at the moment - auto, program, or full manual? ISO settings? Also, one of the first things I did when I got the 50D was switch to RAW - it's so much easier to correct exposure in post-processing than JPG.
  15. Stop your whining and take more photos! Your camera at the moment is good enough to get superb shots, but if you're going to upgrade make it worth your while and make a decent upgrade (i.e. top of the range prosumer, or full-frame).
  16. Definitely. Most keen amateurs & professionals use Canon or Nikon cameras, and the choice is basically which you've used previously and found suits you best. There's always some friendly banter about which is better, but I think that, realistically, they are nearly identical. Just remember to compare similar models, and don't be afraid to get a used body in good nick (esp when buying from a reputable camera store, complete with servicing and warranty). Glass is much more important that the camera body, but a decent body is essential IMO.
  17. Mine were handheld, with indoor shots taken at ISO 1000 (love this 50D! Goes up to 3200 ) - no flash. Those pics are very nice.. he's got some serious equipment, clearly
  18. Thanks mate.. but in my concentration of laboriously linking the Flickr images, I totally forgot to compliment you on your shots!! Were yours handheld, or tri/monopoded?
  19. Had a good day - lots of loud noises and fast-moving objects, so I was kept happy Photography was so-so... given that I don't have a telephoto, it was hard to get decent shots of any action Here are a few of mine though: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4147/4835796926_6ef0f47318_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4085/4835186775_cae756c5e2_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4106/4835795588_249136e09c_z.jpg
  20. Firstly, no argument with the ingredients and the workmanship - it's all top notch. But if it's suddenly legitimate to quote *potential* drag times based on an *unverified* power output, then my car is a 9 sec 900 hp car. Potential =/ reality. Just look at England's World Cup.
  21. Look forward to your pics, LBM I will be going tomorrow (and, of course, dragging along the trusty 50D ) so hopefully I can get something worth looking at. Although after checking out my shots from Henley-On-Thames, I need a damn polariser
  22. What's your price range? "Best" could mean highest quality (FullRace or Virtual Works come to mind here) or most effective for spool/power (by recent data, most likely twin scroll manifold with twin scroll turbo, or either manifold with Quick Spool Valve). Do some searching on here and SF.com and you'll find lots of information.
  23. Nah, I deal in dispensing pain under the thin veil of "treatment and/or rehabilitation"
  24. Yeah, had a few minutes of outage around 4 p.m. near the Guildhall. Plays havoc with us, as our receptionists can't make appointments or billings!
