  1. I fondly remember crossing the road, with a mate, from where I'd parked the Supra to the pub, and having a quite good looking girl hang out of the window of her friend's car to yell at me "I'll fuck you for a ride in your car!" as she drove past. Strangely enough though... she didn't stop
  2. I don't know if there are any dealing with the motor trade, but there were a number of temp agencies for the health professions when I came over in 2009 - I used JustPhysio, for example, and they helped me with organising all the paperwork (visas and professional accreditation, medical and police checks etc) and found me a job very easily. Perhaps something similar would be worth looking into? Alternatively, if you have relatives here then staying with them would solve a few accommodation issues. They might also be able to network for you for jobs.
  3. If you want my advice, get the Tier 5 visa (if you genuinely think you won't want to stay more than 2 years) - it's cheap, will allow 24 months work, and you won't be required to have a job before entering the country (it's the new take on the "working holiday" visa). Don't even think about bringing the Supe over if you're not going to be here long term

    Vxr8 vs RS4?

Well, I know a lot more about Holdens than I do Audis, that's for sure! However, I'm not particularly up to date with the model codes over here, so I'll just use the Australian Domestic chassis codes. Unless you're partial to the style changes in the VEs, the VZ Monaro Coupe with the LS2 (6.0L) is IMO the nicest looking with the most tuning potential. Edit: An alternative is the HSV GTO Coupe. They can look and sound very very tough with cams/exhaust/tune/alloys, and for the price you can add a twin turbo kit for less than a new VE.
  5. You know, after checking out that link, I will retract my previous statement about only using sheet metal for wider rear arches... these carbon fibre ones are AWESOME! Please take lots and lots of photos for us, Jamie.

    Vxr8 vs RS4?

That's because it's a Holden Commodore Rob, are you dead set on the VXR8? Have you considered a nice low mileage Monaro VXR LS2?
  7. Tervetuloa Nice car.
  8. I suppose the next question is "do you want to work on the car at all, or just a worry-free cruiser?". I would guess from your Supra that you're more of the former than the latter, which might suggest that a MK1 Aristo could be a possibility as long as you're prepared to spend £3-4k on top of the £1.5 (bargain basement) - 3k (average price with many service necessities done already) purchase.
  9. This. Plus if you've got a few spares lying around from the Supra...
  10. Nice effort, mate! Ice, and liberal consumption of NSAIDs, will certainly be your best friend this week A tightly wrapped bandage (generally from inside to outside of ankle i.e. in clockwise direction, pulling the foot back towards your shin) will also help control swelling and pain.
  11. Thanks Supraloopy - the job is quite small, but I definitely need someone local.. Where is JohnDMkiv located?
  12. Hi fellow Londoners, I'm looking into getting some custom welding done to modify some seat rails/subframes to accommodate my Recaros, as neater alternative to new rails. Can anyone recommend a *good* place close to SW17 (i.e. between SW17 and the city) to get something like this done? Will simply be grinding off welds and drilling/rewelding. Thanks in advance.
  13. .. and I'm glad that the team that actually *played* football won.
  14. Yeah, Spain has had chances and butchered them all.
  15. Yes, but Holland has been the clear aggressor. Van Bommel should probably have gone for the amount of reckless challenges, and De Jong should definitely have been shown red. That being said, a lot of pansy girls rolling around on the ground clutching their foot/knee.
  16. The Dutch are kicking 7 shades of shit out of Spain. Poor football.
  17. Oh, I completely agree (and this isn't just an Australian speaking now ). As I deal with psychology on a daily basis, I find it fascinating - and Vettel seems unwilling or unable to put the team first (and therefore respect Mark).
  18. Interesting hearing the interview with Vettel - not sure if I'm interpreting things wrongly, but it certainly sounds like he's not very impressed with Mark when he said "you see people's real face when things are bad".
  19. Ha, very telling comment that: "Not bad for a Number 2 driver".
  20. Good battle between Webber and Hamilton.
  21. Bingo. I think Vettel is a very very good driver, I think he's arrogant and selfish - based on the way he drives when his team mate is around. Hope Webber takes this win. And I wonder how long Webber will be able to keep his mouth shut if there are more episodes of what I would call *clear favouritism*.
  22. In my opinion, if long term contributors leave then we hope their productivity would be replaced by new members - new ideas or solutions to technical issues, new projects etc. My issue is always that many new members post before reading to see if the question has already been answered, or don't seem to contribute in what the forum considers a meaningful way. Of course, I'm a picky bastard.
