It wasn't that member IIRC, name doesn't sound familiar IIRC and the price was more too.

Yes. However I masked the lettring and logo in white properly but, the dirty cambelt replacement sticker I only put a few strips of A4 paper on that I quickly cut up and held in place hence the lack of sharp edges there

I have a UK TT so they would be for that, but no harm in double checking if you find out who the seller is.

I got my car from Aberdeen, saw 2 supra's there that day! By fellow members locations, it would appear that you are right as to where all the Supra's are running about.

fwiw a member sent me a PM a few weeks back offering me a set of unused 3G brakes. I have checked my PM's but it appears I have deleted it so can't recall who the member was. May be worth searching the for sale section with the term '3G brake' on the off chance he's advertised them.

Mixed opinions, some say good but more say they were not as good as expected. EBC imo is acceptable but there's a lot of hype that suckers people in blinding them to far superior products. If you are trying to do things on a budget, I'd say just get OE brake discs with uprated pads as mentioned above, its always a great recipe. If you want fancy brake discs then take a look at the offerings from GarageWhifbitx on the traders section.

I have visited several Jap Car Importers over a 1 year hunt for my Supra. By and large, I'm not keen on them from my experience of clearly heavily raced examples, incorrect fluid levels, lack of paper work inc. japanese history etc. £7K is a good budget for a Supra TT but, you will be lucky to find manual cars at that price to appear in the classifieds often. As for mileage, I think you are being silly. I turned down cars with less than half the miles of the car I purchased in the end and its nothing but a pleasure. You need to be ensuring the car has been maintained and serviced accordingly to the mileage intervals etc. I never visited Jurgen, however he's the only one with a very good reputation and I think he'll be the best person to advise/source what you are looking for. You are enquiring about a highly specialist car, if you expect to be able to get what you want on your doorstep I'd keep wishing! you WILL have to travel regardless of distance and speak to the right people to get the right car.

Look up kwicksilver for alloy wheel refurbishment and repairs. I believe they have an operation around the London area.
-
they can be had for that money but do you not think £2K would only get him a battered twin turbo car?
-
Its each to their own. My car is black, so I wanted black as a base colour, but thought about the red/white TRD colours and went down this route. I think for your white car, a white base colour with red lettering/logo would look cracking. Thanks for the comments folks. Its amazing how it all looks pretty good when a few coats of colour and lacquer have been applied.

thats the main thing, as long as you're happy with what you seen when you lift the bonnet. All should be in place on Wednesday, so touch wood I'll take another picture in the sun with it fitted.

Got SKY on auto select for BBC2 @ 8pm

£2!!!! Thats a bargain in anyone's book! fair play! I spent £27 @ Halfords on the spray cans, masking tape, blade, wet & dry papers etc! I did think about putting all the stuff back on the shelf and walking out empty handed!

I think the MR2 Turbo is the best option. + Strong performance + Known reliability + Great styling thats very eye catching provided the cars clean and polished + Always have a strong following

Very nice car, good spec and a a nice drive, ideal for the lady.

Whilst I am waiting for the remaining ignition coils to arrive, I removed the spark plug cover and decided to paint the damn thing. Using the guide in the technical section as a quick guide I followed that pretty much. However, being an impatient sod I used direct sunlight, a hair dryer to speed up the drying process, ignoring the 'allow 24 hours to dry' instructions. I also did this outdoors so was subjected to the usual wind and flying minute insects. (I gave it 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of alpine white (lettering/logo), 2 coats audi laser red and 3 coats of Lacquer). I also decided to spray the lettering in BMW Alpine White, then masked it off, cut around it with a stanley blade and proceeded to spray the cover in Audi Laser Red, before removing all masking tape etc and giving it a few coats of lacquer. Here's what I have ended up with, never having touched a spray can or done anything like this before in my life! (In the sunlight the cover looks quite dazzling, but by the time the lacquer had dried for the photo the sky was dull). I was going to go for black as the base colour and Jaguar's champagne gold for the lettering/logo but could not find any suitable gold/champagne paint on the shelf.

That was me I always get little kidies in retail parks stop and point at the Supra as I circle for parking spots. Around my area I have evena large number of pensioners, who love the Supra and have regularly stopped to ask about it, what it is etc. Most people I also find on motorways like to have a long look at it, they speed up a bit to keep pace or slow down a bit as they pass if travelling quicker than me. I have to say, even though there are a few Supra's on the UK's roads, they still remain a rare sight.

Whifbitz will be able to advise you accordingly with any such questions. I look forward to hearing your opinions on the decat as this is what I will be looking to get in the comming months as I work my way towards BPU. However before they work on your car, ask them to pack my order and send it out asap ;) BTW - what decats are you getting, named brands or the Whiftbitz ones? (just interested)

modern autos do adapt to ones style of driving etc. They can be reset to default settings if required to. How they actually do this and oevr what time period I do not know.

Look up Keighly Trade Performance in the search facility - very bad reputation. I went to WRC and Jap Performance UK, all based within easy reach of each other. All the Supra's I saw there looked and sounded nice on the ads/phone but fell short of 'decent' and 'acceptable' upon physical inspection. They also refused test drives.... I believe that all 3 outlets above are linked closely, i.e cousins/brothers/friends running them so all the cars are best avoided. However as far as sitting in one etc and blagging a test drive if you can it just may be worth a bit of your spare time.

Thats a hell of a list of cars for a young un! welcome to the club!

I remember those, especially in the 1990's with the Calibre/Irsmcher packs etc. If you like these then a Supra is the one to go for as it has the classic car qualities and allure, but this attribute adds to the appeal for the better. If you want a Single turbo, I'd say you really need to approach the likes of Garage786 (in our traders section) as well as ask fellow members for the ins and outs of the single turbo conversions. Remeber, these cars are not cheap to run or source any kind of parts for so you need to inspect any modified car very carefully IMO. Just imagine a spanner monkey with limited talent taking a Supra apart and putting it back together ......... this is exactly what you need to avoid!

Same here, no problems or complaints with the T/C on my car either. As for driving, I always just leave it in 'D' and get on with driving.

hi and welcome, cars looks nice and clean

I have had a 53' Jaguar XKR, a new E34 M5 in 1995 and have a 37,000mile 2001 996T. I have driven a nunber of normal new cars and none have been a patch on the above in term so feel or quality. I was going to end up with a 2002 BMW M5 reluctantly if I could not find a Supra by the time I had a stroke of luck, I rate the Supra TT a lot more than the E39 M5 which 2 family members own. The Supra I bought a few months ago has a 140K with FSTH and 2 owners from new with every itemised invoice/consumable always done at Toyota regardless of cost. This drives flawlessly (bar requiring new ignition coils) in every respect and the chassis is also very sharp and feels quite fresh. The Supra definately feels well up there with the above cars, unique quality feel and highly advanced and refined especially considering its still ahead of its time today! It also feels a lot more plush compared to a few 2003 model WRX's and and EVO 8 owned by family members. (I looked at several later model imports with a fraction of the mileage but these did not drive half as tight or feel 'perfect' like my 1995 model car) I took my 56 year old mother out in in and did the maximum speed on the M1 and she even said she felt like being sat in an aeroplane and loved the Supra's refinement and compusre compared to the M5's. The only time she has never yelled at me at high speeds is when she's been in the 996T or Supra! With these cars, they are old, so will require TLC as and when required, that does not mean they are trouble some or unreliable. The problems arise when they fall into the hands of people who try to run them on a shoe string, cut corners with maintenance etc as parts and servicing are VERY expensive. You will just have to try a few cars like the Supra, EVO etc and make up your own mind. If you are put off by age, then a Supra is not for you, but if you can appreacite that just because a car is old and accept that fact they can be either well up these with modern cars and in some cases superior! then you should continue your search. However it sounds to me like you need to be looking at a car like I did, ignore the age, but look for few respectable owners from new, a car that pretty straight and not messed about with and it a clean, straight original condition with a complete service history as per the service schedule at the least.
