  1. I'm having a very similar experience. Typical... Nice weather all week and then the day before JapFest it hoofs it down with rain. Oh well... See you all there!
  2. Ha ha! Not quite... The car is about 10 metres further to the right in the newer shots than the older ones! Good observation, though...!

    hi

    Hello!
  4. Hi all. I finally got around to doing what I've been meaning to do for months and sprayed my lower front bumper sill/fixed aero-lip to match the rest of the car. I never really liked the way the stock front end looked with the bare plastic at the bottom - it made the front of the car look higher than the remainder and the lines just didn't seem to flow as well as they might. Anyway, after a quick trip to my local Halfords to buy all the necessary bits & bobs and three days of weather that could actually be classed as near enough ideal for spray painting, here are the results, presented in a "before and after" style. I'm actually a lot more fond of the stock front now, too, which is a good thing for many reasons, not least of which being the intact-ness of my finances...! All in time for JapFest, too, which I'm well chuffed with! Comments welcome...

    Exhaust help

Don't they have a lifetime warranty? If not, it's probably repairable as a specialist job. May never be the same again though...
  6. Weird that this REALLY old thread has been resurrected... I've just spent the last three days spraying my lower trim/aero lip to match the rest of the car - just finished the laquering today - in readiness for JapFest. I think it makes the front of the car flow so much better with the remainder - the front end, while it could never be classed as riding high, looks significantly higher up than the sides/rear in the wrong light. Pics to follow after she's had a good wash!

    Hey

Hi! Nice looking machine you've found yourself there.
  8. Looking good. I've never been a fan of the Bomex front - far too complicated. That lip looks great in black.
  9. Hi! Great account of faultless reliability. Good news for everyone concerned!
  10. It's a good looking car with the right bodykit on it - there are already some pretty decent examples cropping up in magazines, etc. I wouldn't necessarily want to OWN one though...

    Fancy a Ferrari...

Ha ha! I loved the "frottle cable" bit, too! Pure class...

    Licence Plates

I don't have that good a memory...! Fortunately, I'm obsessive with keeping receipts (who isn't...?), so a quick look reveals that the size needed for a Jap-spec rear plate is 13" x 7" (or 33cm x 18cm, if you prefer metric).

    Licence Plates

If your car is Jap-spec, it'll need a different size plate from a standard UK "square" one. Be sure to measure first and order correctly - I got caught out in the past!
  14. That's really nice attention to detail. Good work!

    matt black

It's a really smart look, the matt black finish.

    MOT Time

An MOT failure is bad drills, frankly. The number plate thing is a fair one, because although there are technically a set of clear-cut rules, different garages (and even the police) seem to have different ideas about them. The actual rules are on the DVLA website (here), though. The rest of the failure points you list (particularly BRAKE problems, of all things...!) are just inexcusable.
  17. Sounds good. Pics!
  18. This was taken about a month after I bought my car at the foot of Mount Snowdon. The car may have changed quite a bit since then, but I still love the photo...
  19. Wounded for you mate. I'd be on a vendetta. Grown up stuff, I know...

    Hi..again

My opinion, for what it's worth: Wait until you find a nice TT you like as much. You can get them for not a huge amount more than the £5500 this bloke wants for his NA and it'll be worth every extra penny.
  21. Why not just get a proper (manual) gearbox... Or am I missing something?
