It depends on what you want to do with it mate. But (someone correct me if im wrong) the fuel cut will kick in when both cats are removed.

Just been down the parts shop and asked for a new cam belt, they took details of the car etc to get the right size. Now when I get home I realise on the box is says MA70... My question... will a MA70 belt fit a 2JZ?

IIRC the wires from the chip 'would' attach to the speedo. The signal is sent to the chip, converted to MPH then sent back to the speedo. If its dropping out you either have a pinched wire somewhere or the chips on the blink. I'm afraid I cant help with a new chip tho.
