  1. Thanks Chris, made me chuckle. Didn't have any plans on eating the poison! Lol..
  2. Scary! I've got a cat, well kitten, but she's only 3 months old and still quite small so not really ready to go out catching the rats, they're nearly as big as she is. Thinking it might be best to call somebody out as I don't really want to handle them if they die in the bloody garden. Also get foxes and hedgehogs in the garden so don't want to harm them (well not the hedgehogs anyway, the damn foxes can have it as they keep trying to get to the rabbits too). Cheers for the advice guys

    Rat problem

Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice.. Have seen a couple of times now some rats in our garden. I'm pretty sure they were about last summer too, but definitely about now. Was just about to go to bed and heard one of our rabbits screaming. After the first torch setting fire on me (wtf?!) I got a working torch and went out in to the garden to hear a rustling. Shone around a bit and spotted this big bugger rat sitting in the flower bed They seem to have runs down one side of our garden and along the bottom between two sheds we have. Both the sheds are slightly raised so I'm concerned they'll have dug under them and homed themselves. What's the best and easiest way to rid? I'm not bothered what happens to them, just don't want them in the garden and spreading horrible crap to the rabbits etc. I certainly want to act before they find their way in the house.. Help!
  4. Bloody hell mate, one way of doing it I suppose! I'll tell Nick he needs to put some weight on, skinny little git
  5. How did you do it, out of interest? Couldn't believe that 6ft of bar wasn't even budging it! Was a bit worried about that belt too
  6. I've got an old NA block, crank, rods and pistons. And soon it should be turned in to a very shiny coffee table (and a bloomin' heavy one at that..) Pics to follow
  7. Nice to meet you today Scott, cheers for the engine Got it home all safety and the beasty Punto still managed 51mpg on the way home with that grump lump in the boot!
  8. Hmmm, just checked again and PlusNet don't allow you to change the DNS Nameservers through their control panel, only make changes to the A, C-NAME and MX records. I take it this is a pain and just proves what I thought, that PlusNet are a nunch of bobs?
  9. Time will tell then! Thanks very much for the help Gav, I think it's a bit clearer in my mind as to what all the bits and do-das do now
  10. So it is that simple then and I'm worrying about nothing?
  11. I'll get work to get one in, but it's really just a simple question about changing over DNS servers. I'll try and explain. I have domain.co.uk hosted by and administered by PlusNet. I've just signed up for 3ix web hosting (cheap as chips and seems pretty good). I've read up on the PlusNet, 1&1 and 3ix FAQ's and knowledgebases about domains, nameservers and records and somehow got a little confused. All I want is the domain.co.uk (and there's also a domain2.co.uk but same principal) to point to the 3ix webspace. 3ix say that I need to just change the DNS servers on the domain to point to theirs and everything will start working hunkey dorey in 24-48 hours. However, PlusNet tell me I need to change A and MX records to have the domain work properly. I can on the PlusNet control panel change the DNS records, just that this isn't what they said to do. Problem is talking to PlusNet technical support is close to banging your head against a wall with a spike sticking out of it and there being a nation paracetamol shortage So question is, if I go in to the PlusNet control panel, change the two DNS servers to point to 3ix's, will my webspace and mail magically start going to the 3ix servers within 24-48 hours. I think is what confuses me is that I can see how changing the A and MX records will affect things as these tell the 'Internet' what IP to associate the domain name with and sends requests there. But I don't see how leaving these be and just changing the DNS servers makes any difference..
  12. Thought you'd all forgotten me, was getting lonely Cheers Jake. Scott, I'll drop you a PM in a mo and we can sort something out hopefully!
  13. Web interface. More than the actual how to do it, it's the theory of it that I need clearing up I think?
  14. Is there anybody on here who would kindly spend 5 minutes explaining to a numpty just which settings and records I need to change to swap a couple of domains over to a new host. I think I'm starting to get the hang of what does which and what, but I'm scared I'll bugger the whole thing up if I change the wrong settings Can e-mail or PM with more detail, many thanks!!
  15. Thanks Daman So the fact that I stop paying PlusNet for their services won't affect my domain then? As long as I change the nameservers first? 3ix did say there would be a charge if I transfered the domain to them but then that they didn't do transfers for .co.uk domains
  16. Also, if any of you web gurus can help clear something up for me, I'm not sure I quite understand how all this works.. I currently have two .co.uk domains, one is as I understand it with my current ISP PlusNet. This is my main domain, I use the website for photos of nights out and rubbish and also for dumping anything useful to and uploading photos I post on forums etc. I also use it as my main e-mail domain. I have just registered another .co.uk domain with 1&1 and this is currently doing nothing but I am planning to use this for a small part-time business venture. I've been trying to chat to the online sales team for the 3ix I posted above, but I'm a little confused. I assumed when I cancelled my PlusNet account that I would have to transfer the .co.uk domain out to another ISP otherwise it will either be lost or left in limbo as such? 3ix tell me that they don't currently transfer .co.uk domains but that I can just change the nameservers that this domain points to with my registrar to the 3ix nameservers and it will all work hunkey-dorey. Is this right? Surely once I cancel the PlusNet account, I won't be able to get in and control where the nameservers point to and I'll be stuck? Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick.. Also, if I transfer the domain, or change the nameservers or whatever I have to do, how long will not be able to use the domain and the e-mail for while the transfer takes place? I'm quite eager not to be without it for long as I don't want important e-mails bouncing off? Please help!
  17. Has anybody heard of or used these guys - www.3ix.co.uk? They popped up in a google search and seem to do what I want (just home use and some server space) for not much money at all. Cheaper than others I can find and offering similar services.. Thoughts?
  18. It all depends if the dyno operator used the proper correction factor. The reason for it being done in 4th or 5th (depending on your gearbox) is that is the 1:1 ratio, the top gear on a Supra is an overdrive.
  19. 5-speeds should be tested in 4th and 6-speeds in 5th.

    I'm desperate!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you've been misinformed the same as a few others on here. They fit, but they will most likely scrub the arches on the rear unless you are very lucky.

    Supra diesel

Sounds like an interesting project, good luck! Whereabouts in East Sussex are you? I think using an auto box will cause you no end of problems, the standard auto box in a Supra is ECU controlled and wouldn't have a clue how to behave with a diesel engine, being that the power bands and shift points would be completely different. Using a 6-speed Getrag would be the best choice, you'd just have to get a bell housing to adapt and that would throw all the torque you could throw at it. I think you might have issues running nearly 689Nm of torque through a stock autobox, that's roughly 500ft/lb and that's when they start getting a bit upset. Then you're looking at lots of oil coolers and uprated torque converters etc.

Rota GTR's? I hope you saved some money to get the arches rolled or cut
