  1. yeah i definately would not get to hung up on the power figure lee, you are going to be over 500bhp which is putting your car in the "fast" bracket, mine has been at this level now for nearly three and a half years and only after all this time do i feel the need to up the power a bit, i find low boost sees off (with ease) 95% of cars on the road, the other 5% i use high boost but this is very rare, as jon states above you need to buy the very best tyres you can afford and RLTC should be the next thing you buy, as for the auto box i am very sceptical of BL quoting 700 hp, yes they probably would handle this power but for how long ? mine now has close to 30k miles on it and still shifts the same as when i bought it, however i treat it sympathetically, very rarely run full power and watch the temperature gauge like a hawk............have fun
  2. i think both the tracker and cat 1 compliment each other, lets be honest jonny tea leaf is not going to be defeated by a cat 1 when he has just broken into your house with a machette in his hand, told you to f**k off back upstairs, and stole your keys, however the tracker means you have a far better chance of getting it back
  3. they'll look great on one of the local scrotes push bike
  4. a few years ago the uk cams were seen as a worthwhile (and cheap mod) that could at best net about 10 bhp on the top end, however knowone really bothers with them any more, i tried to sell some uk cams a while back and they ended going to the recyle centre at the tip such was the interest, i would start at £50 and work your way down from there
  5. not being funny mate but actually what is the point putting a bog stock n/a on a dyno anyway, you pretty much know what its going to make, as for the power its seems about right for a 16 year old car, to still think it will make what it made out of the factory all those years ago seems a bit naive, as for the service you should do this before you rag the arse off it on a dyno rather than after
  6. Jay dont know exactly how far you want to go with this but i ditched the small junction box and its associated cables on the left hand side of the engine bay into the inner wing (see pic), i extended the starter motor cable under the body so its all tucked out of the way, your engine looks great fella
  7. if your going with the Dremel grinding discs make sure you wear eye protection, i had one fly apart a while ago and a bit ended up embeded in the insulation in the garage roof
  8. ah now were getting somewhere, yes engine cooling is the same (why wouldn't it be ?)
  9. more explanation needed, do manual gearboxs have a cooler ?
  10. park the car with the cap on the wheel facing down and give it a blast with WD40 and leave over night, if its facing down the rocket fuel will stay put and work its magic
  11. for your safety the battery must be bolted down securely, god forbid but what if you have a serious crash or roll the car that battery flying around could kill someone

    Maggots?

we get them on the wheely bin now with the bin men only coming once a fortnight, the Mrs is pretty keen with the Zoflora but miss's a few, i have a mahoosive spider in the garage i feed them to, its great fun
  13. Christ Jamie i wish you would make your mind up http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1407647&postcount=12
  14. sorry perhaps bad choise of words, more like unavailable until who knows when
  15. out of interest, i have seen these before (Spoon ?), eh what are they for as i cant see any meaningfull purpose ?
  16. all to common on fleabay i'm afraid and they are pretty cunning at doing it as well, going to great lengths to hide the fact they are based in China
  17. this was my view but with the demise of Nic the costs of replacing all the control arms is now horrendous (£1500 + just for the rears ) so i am taking the same tack as Richard replacing the bushs and replace the ball joints on an as need basis
  18. oi Stav get to bed you'll need your sleep for that 4am start to the Nurbergring , best of luck and dont rap it/blow it up
  19. i build models (military) so work a lot with the etched brass parts shown in the pics, when you find yourself fitting something like a set of padlocks to a 1/35 scale vehicle that are the size of a pinhead you know your dedicated (sad )
  20. good point Chris and interesting to see that the Gates stuff exceeds SAE 30R10, to be fair to the hydraulic factors they would probably look pretty blank when asked for this hose but would then default to what they know best.......diesels (heavy plant) and with modern bio diesel being more aggresive than petrol this is what you should get, the key is to quote the SAE number, good thread
  21. oh a hydraulic specialist, s'funny thought i mentioned that several posts ago
  22. quite unusual to see spats fitted without side skirts, i can see why you want to take them off
  23. there is a lad at where i work got one of these in his lexus IS 200quite a nice conversion
