timing belt 82*c toyota oem thermostat, seals and lower water pipe how i've left it for now, waiting to get another free evening to finish it, bought a dti gauge for dialing in the cams, need to get a length of threaded bar the same pitch as crank to setup timing wheel also not putting on the new blue cam covers until the engines fully finished so i don't risk marking them

had planned to sell the block as I'd have liked the money back to get a nice new 2 post lift and a workshop space but things have changed and I've decided to use it link arrived, with a 2jz loom which i'll need to modify to fit the s14 harness, vw coil packs, map sensor, fuel perssure sensor too pulling an engine out in a 7ft wide garage sucks.... i then took the engine over to my work and changed a few things on it, got it ready for the new owner's car. rear sump back on etc spent friday evening pulling the old 1j/twin setup/w58 out of the soarer swapped the looms over, starter, p/s pump, injector resistor pack was added into the loom and a few other bits. then dumped it into the soarer on friday night around midnight then over the rest of the weekend messed around getting the car finished along with paul making exh pipes, intercooler pipes, gearbox mount etc big thanks to mark for saving my bacon with the alarm, it freaked out and wouldn't send power to the starter relay so, back to business made a start at getting the engine together, put the dowel pins and studs into the block for the sump (not in the pic) new o rings and so on for the sump where required arp head studs and oem toyota head gasket on, dowel's put into the head too head on, all shims and buckets back in head in the correct order engine mounts/ bc cam's in with engine assembly lube water pump crank sensor 2x new camshaft sensors in cam gears 2xnew toyota oem cam seals in too

scottish members looking to sell up later this year?

Bump scottish guys -
yeah mate really not keen on selling tbh after all the hours and thought I'd put into this but I've had an idea with the mrs about buying some equipment and renting an industrial unit and potentially having a pop at my trade myself instead of working for a boss. I do have another 2j block sat spare so could even throw some 1jz gte pistons in that and still use my big port 1jz head and sort of create a 1.5jz again out of spares but for now the car is going to take a back seat.
-
mods delete this please. not for sale anymore.
-
can't remember, i'll have to ask the machine shop as I have another block being done just now by him for a second 1.5jz i'll be putting together
-
sorry I won't make this alex, i'll be using that weekend to remove my engine from the silvia since it's the long weekend

bought a gtx3582r 4" anti surge intake 2.5" out .83 t3 divided exhaust housing 3" vband exit it came from universal turbo's formally known as CR turbos, had to take the cams, shims and buckets out the head (kept in order) as the head needs skimmed now a little more this is to let the compression come back to 8:5:1 as the oversized bore has increased the total cc in the cylinders the head is now in a machine shop in a que of jobs to be done block arrived home, i'm super happy with it you can also see written on the piston is 20cc, the stock pistons are 9cc! hence the compression change so head work is needed as i'm not reducing the gasket thickness as the stock 1.2mm 1jz head gasket works really well got the cam covers powdercoated electric blue with metalic flakes these are insane in the sun! also have started tidying up little bits in prep for assembling the engine literarly waiting on the head to have some more taken off then it'll be build/checking time as i need to make sure i have enough piston to valve clearance etc oh also invested in a Link g4 engine management package
-
I have sard brand new side feed 800cc inejctors I need to sell, if they go i'll take these from you
-
head is now down at the machine shop having a little more taken off as due to going .5mm oversize on the bores, the compression ratio lowered due to the larger cc in the chambers the head needs to have 40cc per cylinder in the head to allow for an 8:5:1 ratio currently it has 43cc so working out around 9thou per cc meaning another 27 thou to be removed from the head can't wait to get it back now as I've got everything lined up and ready to go
-
squirters were done correctly as there is a bolt on the side of the block where it had been opened up to allow for drilling of the front oil gallery
-
the turbo arrived bought it from universal turbos GTX3582R t3 divided .83 exh housing 4" compressor anti surge intake 2.5" out to cooler new style bearing cages too for the ball bearings

well, I think the squirters and the turbo oil feed would come off the same channel/oil passage so surely if I get oil through the turbo oil feed, it would go through the squirters too ? I'd say marcin had the block done right as he does the ge-gte conversions all the time he said.

right, an update, not going into this on the forum as I don't name call online and talk bad about people behind their backs as that is not fair! Couldn't agree with previous builder on some issues I had with the block so I decided to start a fresh. scoring in the bores that was not there before, a non flat gasket surface, some chips on the faces of the new bearings i'd found when removing piston to rehone a cylinder, not happy at all. I sold the cp pistons and ge rods etc and I've started from scratch, also sold the turbo because the brand new one i'd bought from him wasn't actually brand new, yes eventually i'd got a new from him when i handed back the rebuilt one, but after speaking with other tuners they all said that it's a turbo fit for a 4 cylinder honda, not a 2jz! I don't want to be seen bad mouthing anyone here as I have been previously accused when he'd found someone else doing it on this forum and I've nothing to do with it. Block is now down south at another engine building shop, the cylinders have been .5mm oversized to remove scoring and are like brand new now! basically i'm looking at a 3 grand rebuild bill ZRP Forged H Beam Rods Wossner 86.5mm 8:5:1 Ratio Comp Pistons Crank back from balancing against all new parts inc my clutch and flywheel assembly block after having 3 days in the acid/descale tanks oversized .5mm cylidner work done, now decking the surface Look at the cylinder finish! block painted rings gapped crank in line up my new toyota gte oil pump on with new o rings and it was ported out inside for flow restriction issues that can come with stock pumps now i'm just waiting for the core plugs to arrive with him on monday then the engine's coming my way as for the next big, turbo choice, i think i'll be going GTX3582R with the T3 Twin scroll exh housing as garret seem to be the only ones that offer twin scroll borg warner and precision both don't list it in the turbo model's i like, so not to worry, a gtx will be fun at the moment, It's looking like the block will be here next week, so if all goes well and my head gasket will keep me within comp ratio I need, then i'll have the engine built together next weekend
