I know the obvious answer here is phone Toyota tomorrow and ask them, but its a Sunday and I'm curious. Does anyone know (roughly of course) how much genuine Toyota disks & pads would set me back for a UK car?

I am just curious to know how long pads & disks last for people here. I appreciate driving style, track use, different brake types etc will all result in different wear rates. My pads are starting to get a little low and its taken about 25-30k miles to wear them out. This is general day to day driving with the occasional spirited use. These will be the second set of pads the disks have seen (UK spec, CW pads) So how long do your disks and pads last? How many sets of pads do you get through before the disks are done too?

Is that the sensor in the bottom of the radiator? I'll give the ECU a reset in the morning and see if it helps.

Lately when I start the car and the engine is stone cold the power is very poor and I can find myself with the throttle half depressed and the first turbo making 0.5 bar and whistling away happily while I am loosing speed on a gentle slope at 30mph. This cant be right and even a month or so ago it had no trouble climbing the same slope when cold with barely any peddle. I know it is low power rather then a slipping box as the revs drop when it does this. Within about a mile or as soon as the temp gauge has moved from the bottom the throttle is back to it's normal responsive self and even a slight amount of peddle results in a nice healthy reaction. Throughout any of this there is no smoke, no missing and no error codes. Anyone have any ideas on what the cause maybe or where I should start looking?

I have a UK auto and it definitely has a diff oil cooler as it was replaced a few years back.

Personally I wouldn't bother with sli/crossfile unless your planning to run crysis on a 30" monitor at 2500x1900 or something. I am still using my old single 8800 GTX and it still handles the latest games OK. I feel the same goes for the 6 core phenoms and core i7's I doubt they would offer many fps more then similar clock speed 4 core phenoms/ core i5's.

Possibly a pair of mole grips on it after an oil treatment? I would make sure you have a good bolt to go back on afterwards.

Can anyone recommend someone/where good in the Tunbridge wells/TN1 area?

I have one, the super-AMOLED screen is stunning and I am told wont be on any other brand of phones for 18 months or so. Not as many pixels as the new iphone4 but its much brighter, half an inch bigger and the colours are allot more vivid which imo makes it a better screen when you compare them side by side. It's very fast too, i'm told the Samsung 1 GHz processor is quicker then the snapdraggon 1 GHz processor in the desire but I doubt there's much in it. The only down side is if your playing a game or something on it the battery will only last 4-5 hours but at least it can charge from any usb socket on a standard lead. Some people say it feels a bit cheap as it is very light but again its down to your own preference. Personally I like how light and thin it is. The camera is the best I've used on a phone and the HD video recording is great. The only thing missing is a flash. I have never liked to use the flash on any camera but they do make useful torches on a phone. The screen however is bright enough to use as a makeshift torch should you need to. The amount of supported video file types is also very good and I have had no trouble playing back huge divx avi's, mp4's etc. Videos really do look good on the Super-AMOLED screen.

The QNAP devices are meant to be good but unless low power draw is a concern I would consider buying a cheap small form factor PC and sticking some disks in it....

Just fitted genuine Toyota hoses. The ones on there before looked to be re-purposed braided hose which would explain why they split when bent into the S shape. Thanks!

Outrageous bodykits, huge wheels, bright interiors & overly blue HID kits/bulbs.

I know this has been posted many times before and from searching I have found a few common suggestions such as the recaro and maxi cobi tobi but from looking at various marketing literature these seats are for 9KG+ babies. Does anyone have any recommendations on seats that will go in the back and are suitable for 0+? (Cant go in the front as its a UK with passenger air bag) No rush but I want to get something ordered as the little one is now due in 4 weeks

In my mind the only advantages to a UK car are the following; cheaper insurance and more providers will cover it, has pretty much all the extras which are optional on some imports and if it’s standard will run fine on cheaper 95 fuel. When it comes down to which is the better car it depends on if things like glass head lights, heated seats and softer suspention are useful to you; if not, its just extra weight. No one is going to go to the trouble of importing a complete wreck so the condition of imports should usually be better whereas UK cars will have had to weather the rain and salted roads their whole lives and are more likely to have rust. If both cars are in the same condition I would personally prefer a UK car for the extras it is likely to have and the convenience of cheaper insurance and being able to fill up anywhere.
