ok here's the update.. started her up and left ticking over for about 10mins, checked radiator and coolant, they seemed low so i topped it up.. put the heaters on full but they was'nt getting warm, neither was the radiator...? the temp needle was half way so i started to drive home veeeery slowly keeping the revs low!!! when the temp needle started moving over the half way mark i stopped and checked radiator and coolant, the radiator was now hot but no coolant and more steam, so i checked for any leaks but couldnt see much apart from under the air filter on the engine was all wet with yellow rusty water marks.. (see pictures) sorry they are very bad pictures!! so i topped up and waited for it to cool down.. i managed to get round the corner from my house when i heard a click behind the dash and suddenly my heaters started working and my temp needle settled to half.... very strange the odd thing is when that happened i developed another noise coming from passanger side it sounded like i had something caught in the wheel but it would only make the noise when i was in gear accelerating... i have a mechanic looking at it on sat and the rest of the week off to get her fixed so any advise would be very helpful!!!

i was coming off the m56 when i relised, so i cruised in to the hard shoulder, good job i was only round the corner from work, its parked up now but im abit worried about driving it back home.....

that sounds expensive..... i will check the hoses now!! its the first time the temp needle has been in the red, so hopefully no damage has been done!! guess i will be leaving it at work!! i thought it might have been the thermostat????

is my car still safe to get me home.....?? last couple of days steam has been coming out of my engine bay, i put it down to water dripping through the bonnet vents but this morning the steam would'nt stop for a good 15mins!! it looked like it was coming from under the dizzy cap.....?? my temp needle was in the red also??

does the thermostat fit both tt and n/a? i will have it if it fits n/a...

oh right, ging said you gave your supra to your miss's... r you mad? what are you driving now? at least she's kept it tidy anyway!!! she must have been out spending your money mate.. I HATE VEILSNIDE!!!!!

iv been trying to get hold of one of these for a while now, if one comes up plaeeease send it my way!! i got a £30 fine for not having my number plate fitted!! fed the plod the same line i used the last time i got pulled for it... "ermm had to change bumpers and hav'nt had time to fit it".... stupid of me not to remember him!!!

im missing the front number plate holder and i dont fancy another fine from pc plod!!!! [ANGRY][/ANGRY] anyone got one lying around there not using?

m.o.t is due soon and im still finding it hard to find a cheap set of lights or just a drivers side.... mine is bearly hanging in there and it will kill me if i have to take her off road!!! [sHOCK][/sHOCK] i have refurb'd before so i dont want anything perfect just affordable.. hope someone out there can help me!! cheers guys

ok here goes, fitted some new pads and discs to a 1999 golf mk4 1.4, everything went smoothly untill i came to put her 18" alloys back on, once they were on i couldnt move the car and i could hear a scraping noise.. so whipped them off again and found the metal plate on brake pad was touching the inside of her alloys and dug a groove all the way round! which cracked the brake pad, so i returned the pads and was replaced with another brand but they are still the same thickness and still touch the wheels when fitted!! i then tried the stock steal wheel and its fine no problem attall, my question is after all this is... should there be spacers on when fitting bigger alloy wheels??? could that be the problem??? hope someone can help...

im looking for a freebie or cheap... cash is getting tight!! still fixing her up after my very lucky crash at 70mph!!!

just gauging some intrest in how much this is worth... i will be changing it for a smaller one soon.. (any help on whats being used to replace it with would be alot of help too) anyway it will be up for grabs in a few weeks!! its in excellent condition!

didnt think so.. i have fitted another bumper and spent hours trying to adjust it closer but its still raised slightly on the corner near the drivers headlight!! might try and re position the bonnet.... cheers anyway

had a slight accident on the m56 busting my bumper and bonnet.. nothing serious but my fibreglass bonnet is slightly high on the drivers side, what i wanted to know was.. is there a way of bending and re-shaping it slightly?????

badge and number plate needed for stock front bumper... cheap or free haha goin to a good home!!
