While i was there Dan raised a mild concern about the turbo. It felt ok when you held it and span the blades. but there seemed to be a little too much rumble for him to be 100% happy. So as i was on a day off i ran the turbo over to turbo technics in northampton who took a quick look and gave it the thumbs up. and the very slight rumble you could feel was just due to the lack of oil as its obviously off the car. At this point they were finding a lot of little things wrong with the car that will be outlined below. So i decided to just leave them to it and fix everything that needed doing! Apparently the bores are in good condition. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/970754_10151587026354259_1468443822_n.jpg head back and on. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/944213_10151587026349259_1595362756_n.jpg cams in https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/970414_10151587026329259_1328885786_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/21152_10151587026474259_1936931501_n.jpg They found this. Some boost pipe for the waste-gate was cable tied to the steering column. Also... note the pipe in the top right... more on that later. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/261739_10151587026539259_819756611_n.jpg A nice ugly manifold https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/944224_10151587026594259_1887529231_n.jpg Lower intake manifold painted https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/972083_10151587026649259_950338917_n.jpg The put a bead on the turbo for me as i didnt have one. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/942124_10151587026684259_293361882_n.jpg The oil drain extention bit at the top of this pic didnt fit my garret turbo so it couldnt be used. 2. So, since i got my unfinished single project a year or so ago and ash got it up and running for me, and he did a great job. But it was a bit of a rush job to get it all mapped and running for suprapod. So i never had anyone take a very deep look at the car... well it slowly started developing problems and things went wrong. The ecu and dli getting fried being the most costly. Then it developed a misfire on boost. Then it started shredding aux belts. So before dragonball i booked it in, Hoping I would get it back in time for a quick visit to the bodyshop while i was away in florida. Well It didnt quite go down that way. So as a lot of people know i ended up not taking it on dragonball. So figured i would tell you all the story... I booked it in with Dan Turner at Advanced Motorsport and Engineering in at Silverstone, they have a great setup and do some awesome work and have some very interesting cars in. When i dropped it off they had a Aspira F620 sat in the workshop https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/183868_10150259429849259_6995131_n.jpg and when i picked it up today they had this 695 bhp supercharged viper https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/29695_399905984258_8204321_n.jpg They also upload pictures of the work they are doing onto facebook. So you can keep up to date with whats going on. Which i have never seen anyone else do and i love it. its great. Well, when i got up to take it in there was still snow on the ground. So I had to clear the snow off the car and doing so with my ice scraper i chiseled the Toyota badge off the front bumper... balls. Then i popped out to the local cash point and snapped my carbon greddy lip in half on a snow bank in the carpark... cock. So i left it with Dan feeling pretty sorry with myself and fed up with the car. I left him the following list. Fix misfire. I had got a set of good 2nd hand coil packs just in case. Fix the belt shredding issue that caused me to limp home from the previous dragon ball in Holland. Fix cold start. Fit new cam covers and catch can. Fix a leak fron the turbo drain. I baught Mr Whiffins oil drain kit for this. Looked like a nice piece of kit! A few days later Dan calls with some details. Compression on one of the cylinders was way down. It was like this when i first picked it up and ash fixed it. But if it was the same cylinder i don't know. So this news wasn't a big worry at the time. I let Dan get on with it and i got another call a few days later... One of the exhaust valves was bent and the head would need to be rebuilt. I toyed with the idea of getting a 2nd hand one but after weighing up the options and the risks i decided to have it rebuilt. By this point i was due to go away on holiday. So Dan was to message me on Facebook with any decisions that would need to be made. Despite checking Facebook daily while on holiday i didn't get a message. Which was odd. Then after about 8 days of being there i noticed Facebook wasn't alerting me of the new messages and had just filed them away! so now i was a week behind and very unlikely to get the car back for dragonball . Anyway i had the option of a port and polish or upgraded components. but due to the holiday credit card bills i knew i would have and the mounting cost of all the work i decided not to take that option and just go for the "standard" rebuild. Well in the meantime i decided as they had it off already the intake plenum was looking very scruffy. it has been painted in some odd black sticky paint. so i asked them to strip it and paint it. I returned from my holiday and work continued with regular updates on facebook and by phone. Which.. because we all like photos ill start posting. They took all the photos and iv linked from there facebook page so i hope you can all see them...
  3. Doh didnt see this. Iv got 2 bucket seats sat in the garage
  4. They look odd in black tbh. Facelifts are a dark grey. That would look better IMO.
  5. in my expierience is always just banter. i loved my na. never gave me trouble and was fast enough for me after a clio! but... you always want more... my tt was great but more expensive to run. an my single... well...im not sure how i afford it tbh.

    BPU question

Yeah depends on the size. And it varies from car to car. A 1.2 ring might be 1.0 on another car. You need a boost controller to raise the boost properly to avoid over boosting in winter.
  7. Sorry guys. My car won't be ready. 1. Viper - HKS T04R, 3600 hi stall 2. Spikedjack 3. 4. DaveR - B362 turbo, stock block, 6-speed manual (IF MY DRIVING LICENCE ARRIVES; spectating if not ) 5. Littler - BPU 6. Justin Bieber 7. Josh 8. Neil - single t45 turbo ,big boot install , big wing 9. Dude with the Busa 10. Nicholas 11. Thomo8568 - NA auto. (Probably just one day) 12. GazB 13. black_widow87 (saturday only) Spectating List: 1. JOSH! More than likely just one day for me, but it is close enough to drive there and back both days 2. dunk 3. Sukhy - A maybe yet but for 1 day if I make it 4.
  8. Yep I keep missing them. I'm missing shakey this weekend as the car isn't quite ready yet.
  9. i bet people would love a carbon one if you could do one paul. lol
  10. Just after I posted I got a call to say its almost ready and they were giving it a final dyno test. As long as I can get time off from work to pick it up ill be there
  11. I never liked metal ones. Freezing in winter, too hot in summer. The veilside/greddy ones were a good shape though. I have one sat in the garage I swapped out.

    Rltc

Shouldn't need one in a tt auto. Even in the damp mine doesn't brake traction. And anything more than damp you shouldn't be upswing the 2nd turbo.
  13. im pretty sure there is a fancy gadget that you put on and it tells you. local scrappy/recycle yard might have one?
  14. Iirc shakey have a stricter rule on helmets. Possibly all need one. I don't remember. I'm still waiting to get my car back. Oh and with regards chasing up the dvla on your license... Good luck, Iv banged my head against that wall before
  15. Supprised he hasn't sold those planes. A flying 109 is a pretty rare thing. I have never seen one. People would bite his hand off. I'd assume they are in good nick if boxed up
  16. What H said (without the flat dick) I have a modest job that brings in 1600 a month, then I get an extra income of 1000 a month. My wife doesn't work. I have my own home and no mortgage. No student loans, only one credit card I pay off every month. After paying all the bills and the monthly stuff like food and petrol it can get tight. But I have savings to pay for supra emergencies. For example I put the car in the garage recently. Expecting a 1000 or so bill. Car needed a head rebuild and new crank pully. Pluss other things I'm looking at almost a £3000 bill...
  17. I was 23. 5 speed na. Got a uk tt auto at 25. Which I still have and is for sale Got a single 6 speed when I was 28 I had a Clio before that. So Jumped up 60bhp-200bhp-400bhp-520bhp. So if you get one drive it sensibly and there is no reason you cant get one You will need deep pockets for insurance. And parts can be expensive. But 2nd hand ones are easy to come by but you are risking them not being as hood or lasting as long. Don't insure it under your parents name as the main driver, its illegal (called fronting I believe) you might aswell not have insurance because as soon as you get in an accident they will ask questions... And any chance insurance companies get to not pay out they will take. Oh and tell them of any mods too. For the same reason.
