  1. It’s not that events are putting a strain on, the whole point of going to events and showcasing what we can offer is to keep members and pull in new members.
  2. Yeah that. The selling pages have nowt to do with the forum. And the club FB page isn’t moderated enough either. Selling on Facebook is not only easier and quicker, it reaches thousands instantly. Believe it or not, there are a lot of supra owners out there that actually hate this forum and the members.
  3. Please no adverts, the advert on Tapatalk and Facebook do my head in enough lol Getting more people interested in events would be good, you can clearly tell there are already a few of us very enthusiastic event mods Yeah I’m stumped on FB. I manage the selling pages but they are easy. Not sure what else could be done other than information.
  4. How do we fund more events? How do we have enough banners to cover all events? We do need a shake up of the event moderators as some haven't been on in a while. Not sure how much more could be done on Facebook to be honest, what more could be done?
  5. Yeah that would suck, but if we were to do this as an event like we do JAE, we would have entertainment as well as the shows entertainment. Me personally wont be sitting at the strip for hours on end watching all the cars, but I would go visit it a few times and with all the other entertainment on offer it does have great appeal. It just depends on what the members would like to do more as I highly doubt we can do both.
  6. Yeah that was my thinking ref the clubs funds and club tickets. We could have a smaller marquee for our personal entertainment, beer fridges etc with power and have the kitchen with plenty of food like we do at JAE, or do something completely different. The only downside is the cost of the event compared to JAE, its nearly double for what some members really hate to do "camping in a field" So would be good to see the responses to "camping in a field" for £45 or "camping in a field" for £85
  7. Hello guys, Not sure how many of you have seen on Facebook yesterday or today, but JAE have made a huge f**kup announcement by dropping the Thursday from the show. Bloody nightmare, but instead of reducing ticket prices, which they only did for 150 tickets, which are now sold out, the price will remain the same, for now. This all may change due to the extremely vocal angry voices by many. But at the moment, JAE tickets would be £45 for Friday 0900hrs entry through to Sunday late afternoon. Club tickets would be around £35 - £40 for food, drink, power, marquee etc etc To me this isn't great as Thursday was always a good set up day and chill before you all arrive and not have to do anything. Now it would be horrible to set up, running around getting things sorted whilst you are arriving. This isn't fair on you in my eyes. So, it was brought to my attention that another event could be a great opportunity for us. Santa Pod Raceway European Drag finals Thursday 6th September to Sunday 9th September. http://www.santapod.co.uk/eurofinals.php Now in all fairness, I wasn't excited about this until I checked the website and FU*K me sideways. Not only is there plenty of drag racing, but there is: Pit access Demos and stunts from their exhibition vehicles Stunts from Terry Grant etc Historic Aero engines Fireworks display Fun Fair Evening entertainment and bars 2 seater dragster (you have to pay extra) Helicopter rides (you have to pay extra) kids entertainment traders Bars and caterers. So all in all, there is plenty on offer. The price for all four days is £85! Fri/Sat/Sun tickets is £75. Not sure how group bookings and areas will be sorted but that is easily do able. So the big questions are, Do we still attend JAE, as I know many of us loved the show, or do we change and go for the Santa Pod weekend? This poll and thread is not the definitive answer, it is to get an idea of what you would like to do. Any comment is valid in this thread. Also I would like you opinion on what you would like the club to offer, as with JAE we had a fund from the club, and we sold club tickets to cover more things, so with the increase in tickets at Santa Pod, would you be willing to pay for club tickets to pay for our luxuries we are accustomed too.
  8. Banzai Rally http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?346857-Banzai-Rally-the-official-road-to-Japfest-Silverstone-3rd-6th-May-2018
  9. Very easy to get caught out. No wonder more people just buy ethanol and add it to the tank.
  10. Just read up on it, I thought it was the ethanol that was different, but it’s the amount of fuel in the pre made mix of E85. Bloody pointless name as it’s not 85% lol By the looks of it, you’ll be using either methanol or denatured ethanol. Not sure on the denaturant or the percent of ethanol in the mix. Let me know what you use, and I’ll see what it’s made of.
  11. I only ask as we use ethanol and denatured ethanol at work and we get it cheap, also get methanol cheap too. E85 is 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. Hence why I’m confused at the summer and winter remark.
  12. Absolute ethanol or denatured ethanol? Huh??
  13. That idea is actually a few years old and has been mentioned to JB by a few of us on several occasions, so hopefully now it’s more public and has momentum, something may happen. I know many who regularly attend JAE have said they happily pay a yearly subscription or chip in to a club event fund. Rider, Are you planning on attending any events?
  14. Just to bump this as it is back on next week. I will be there for my monthly cheesy chips and hot chocolate
  15. That's not what you said to me on our first "event" together. You definitely have your finger somewhere
  16. If we go down the route of paying £10 a year, does that mean we have to let other members use the club yacht??? I am all up for paying yearly, but not sure we should be sharing the yacht.
  17. Only problem with a premium membership and first refusal is if everybody pays for premium, everyone has first refusal so not really worth it. And if we get a free calendar, surely that would eat into the money raised?
  18. Yes, hence why the traders apply for the status and we, the members approve them. That’s how the club can afford to pay for events and give reduced costs on events too. There is a whole section dedicated to suggestions. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?58-Club-Suggestions
  19. That’s why I use new posts. Never miss any post ever and don’t have to worry about what section to look in to see something.
  20. 1) Many of is have said this multiple times over the years. There are several of us that constantly say we would be happy to pay this every year. In fact, Bear and I collared JB about this last year at S Club. However, there are probably some/many that wouldn’t be happy, since they do have lifetime membership. Also this ‘could’ deter old and bold members from staying around. 2) There are several threads in the events section about “local” meets. I’m not actually sure we have enough mods to cover all “local” meets lol Members are however free to post in the events section.
