  1. I take it this is for a TT? how much power will you be able to get out of this?
  2. Cool, where did you just get it back from? Stunning looking car by the way.
  3. Formula 1 seem very good and profesional , although you pay for it http://www.formulaonelotus.co.uk/index.htm Would be good to have a thread of recommended garages in the North east so you know who has experiance and is trustworthy.
  4. I have recently purchased and fitted one of these toyo sport FMIC from ebay. Cost the same £200. To be honest I think it was a bit of a bargain. The polished pipes are made from auminium and weigh very little. The silicone connects seem good and it comes with micalor type clamps. I had no problems during fitting, except from having to fabricate my own brackets which isnt a big deal and everything went together very well. I have had no problems with overheating and I hav not ducted the intercooler to the rad yet either.
  5. Saw a white one with Trial front and rear bumpers, abflug spoiler and vented bonnet, looked very nice. You were behing me going through westerhope, I was in my dull red ford escort and I pulled into shell petrol station half way through westerhope.
  6. Would you need a helmet in a BPU car? I have no idea if the terminal speed will be over 110mph. also, what is the supradrome? Is it on the campsite that you can pay to stay on?
  7. The temp does have an effect on boost pressure, well it has done for me for the 3 years nI have owned it anyway. I make just over 1 bar boost in the colder weather and in the summer I have been making .0.9bar boost. My boost reading has always dropped slightly when the weather gets warmer.
  8. SMIC polished pipes and air box are as good as sold
  9. This was where I got it from http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=200342848397
  10. Just fitted mine, a toyo sport FMIC and the fit is v.good for a cheap Kit. It has a 3" thick core and looks the dogs. I havnt noticed any difference in power or lag to be honest. It's the first FMI I have had and once you take it for a hard run and get out the car and feel the core the left hand side is warm and the right hand side is v.cold so I assume it's doing it's job. I wish I had got one sooner. Here's a pics in this thread of what it looks like fitted (without the bumper) I dont have any with it fitted yet post 11 first pic http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=187493 looks realy cool with the top secret front. I just dont know what to do with the front number plate. Iv left it off for the last couple of days as it looks much cleaner without.
  11. Iv just done a similar thing to fabricate an induction kit. You need the following all in 3inch:- 2 x 45 degree silicone elbows 3inch inner diameter 1 x 45 degree 3" outer diameter polished pipe 1 x straight 3" outer diamter polished pipe (approx 6 inch long would do, it's to act as a coupler between the 45 degree silicone elbow and the filter) 1 x 3" neck air filter of your choice. 5 x 3.5 inch jubilee clamps I think mine came to about £70 inc postage buying various bits from egay. While on the subject of egay :- AVOID MRSILICONE AND AUTO-PERFORMANCE they are the same company and in my opinion utter garbage. They messed my order up twice, wouldnt give me a refund and wouldnt send out what I payed for. After almost 4 weeks they agreed to refund my money through paypal except paypal want me to send all the wrong items back recorded delivery, which I think is crap so Iv left it to my credit card company to deal with. They also messed up my mates order but he was lucky enough to get it sorted within a week. Save yoursel the hassle and stay away from these people- oh and in my opinion they are also cheeky Tw$%s to speak to on the phone
  12. No it is not a genuine Toyota part, I got it from somewhere on the internet and I cannot remember where. Iv had it a while in the garage wrapped up in it's plastic packaging. I have just tried fitting it in the airbox and the fitment is spot on, just the same as the apexi really, I cannot comment on how it compares looks wise to the stock one as I have never owned one.
  13. I have a couple more things for sale after fittig my FMIC. All prices plus P&P 1) Stock air box (No brocken clips) with both air feeds £60 2) Used Apexi Panel filter £20 3) Brand new stock paper panel filter £10 4) Polished SMIC hard pipes (the two in the engine bay, pics in may garage) These will come with all the silicone connectors except from the 3" one that connects one of the pipes to the throttle body. I pinched it as my FMIC kit didnt come with it They can be easily sourced through egay ect £100 5) The 5 metal turbo pipes, with a lovely dirty cast finish, ideal for polishing (these will be available in 2 weeks or so) £50 6) Stock j-spec suspension springs (all 4) - done 50k ish miles in good working condition £30 7) Stock SMIC ducting £15
  14. are you not ment to be at work?
  15. And just to show I have been working hard this is what replaced it And my auto fluid cooler I just finished tonight Note the shiney turbo pipes I fitted last week (not doing that again) and the lovely ducting on my intake which is were my lovey blue 45 degree silicone elbows should be right now if it want for that idiotic ebay trader which still hasnt gave me my money back Sorry if the pics are fuzzy.
  16. Right here's some pics as promised. First couple is of the front and the fins Next is of the rear One thing I forgot about until I was taking the pics is that I had terribe bother finding the right sized bolts for the intercooler that I went against my better nature and got the arildite out and glued some bolts into the holes for the brackets. I have left these barckets on the intercooler to make it easier for the next owner. These particualr brackets Front and Rear only stabalise the cooler. The Main bracket that takes the wait is on top of the cooler with bolts on with the standard bracket, which fits perfectly fine. Apart from that it's in v.good condition, just needs a wash if your bothered.
  17. Right, first of all sorry about the delay, I have had terrible problems with a trader from ebay sending me some parts out to fabricate and induction kit. The stock air box will not fit with this FMIC so to keep the car on the road I was waiting for some parts. I still dont have them after 3 weeks but I decided to fit the FMIC anyway as I know people are waiting for this. Well, it's now off the car and I will try and get pics up some time today. Thanks for your patients. Oh, avoid 'mrsilicone' from ebay, what a t$*t and also this company http://www.auto-performance.co.uk/ they are the same people and are the most useless pair of morons I have ever dealt with in my life. They seem incapable of just reading an order and sending it out. A guy called ROB deals with the mrsilicone account and a guy called ANDY deals with the other. Avoid them and save yourself allot of hassle
  18. I had a problem with no second turbo and it was quite intermittant, which made it awkward to find the problem. Mine turned out to be the IACV vsv. My symptoms were full boost on first turbo (about 11psi) then as the revs reached 4k rpm I noticed the exhaust note change slightly but no increase in boost or power just the same 11psi. When I checked the resistance across the vsv it was fine and always opened when I put 12v across it so it tested fine. Once I replaced it though the problem was gone.
  19. Im afraid I already have 3 people interested so you would be 4th in line. I will keep this updated and add pics as soon as I can.
  20. For the guy's interested in this I wont be able to get pics this weekend I have had supprise visit from family members that came down from scotland (friday night) and I have been told I cant be unsociable and work on the car I do have my FMIC sitting th passage, I'm just short of a couple brackets and a smaller expansion resivour. I am hoping to pick both up tomorrow and get started on the car during the week. Sorry for the delay but I will put picks up as soon as I can.
  21. Anyone? I would like to get these on tomorrow but dont want to take everything to bit's and then find out I need new gaskets/seals etc. Can they just be taken off and the others put on? (it's all 5 of the the OEM turbo pipe's)
