James done amazing job at getting the hubs apart and removing the abs sensors in one piece next will be the rears handbrake cables are shot but apparently they common

Lee at srd has stripped the engine and all good news in very good condition and can use most of it so just a refresh with new pump gaskets /seals and bearings

So James removed subframes brakes brake lines fuel lines and suspension some of the arms are useable as I had replaced several years ago brake fuel lines are as usual and will be replaced rack will get refurbished with new ends little play in it rear subframe is the unknown so will get it blasted and see what it’s like , if so I’ll get another

Yours isn't too bad tbh Hopefully dip will remove rust not metal lol Defiantly fair bit of fabrication needed

Hi guys so not a lot has happened over last week due to James and Kane getting covid so off for the week so dipping date has moved, company was very understanding so James was on it today and will be this week so imagine a fair bit of progress this week so he wrestled the alarm out today, not happy as was every where found some rust around , where the steering column goes through bulk head , which will need work and also round grommet where wiring goes to the rear hatch

So I’m on the search for new rear quarter panels i have sourced the rh side but need the lh side (passenger) so if any body knows anybody with stoke please let me know thanks

Few more pictures today Drivetrain removed and engine stripped down to go off to srd along with the diff Turbos inspected and in good condition but will get rebuilt, connecting pipe collapsed as usual, and will replace the mounts

Yep the seams will be resealed to oem spec or better all box sections will be treated with a product James told b me but can’t remember name lol

So little update we have been chatting and getting information on how to deal with the shell so options were to manually remove sound deadening under seal and media blast or dip the shell and e coat it the costs are very similar due to lots of labour costs in the blasting way also you can’t get all the media out and we can’t get into the box sections dipping will get everywhere and removes everything and rust there was a few issues about 12 years ago with acid leaching out of joints due to not being thoughally rinsed but this seems to have been addressed now so we have decided to dip it and e coat it first it’s going to have 2x new rear quarter panels due to the arches being rolled and flared and also this will sort the rust that was found behind the spats The ally bonnet has its own treatment only a couple pics from just recent as was deciding the process but as the dip is all booked for 11 April then all systems are go the rad support will be replaced with new as I don’t think much will come back lol
