  1. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. IMO, you are far to quick to pigeon-hole the supra as not being a "sports car". I think they make an excellent "sports car" with the right manual gear box. The supra wasn't destined to be purely a GT car, Toyota had the Soarer for that. It's a sports car with excellent suspension which can provide balanced handling comparable with some more modern sports cars. Couple that with the powerful 2JZ-GTE engine and that left you with a car that could upset some much more expensive sports cars of the time. Besides a GT should have a big boot.
  2. So why would you want your 996 or 997 turbo as a manual?
  3. If auto's were the same price as manuals this topic would never arise, 90% of people would have the manual and wouldn't even be thinking about the auto in a supra.
  4. Nice car, quick OT question: Did you buy your car from a Toyota dealership, or were you just picking up some parts for your new car?
  5. Answered your own question there.
  6. I'm sure everyone would appreciate if you went out and shot some fresh haggis to bring down. If you can find one that is, they are slippery little buggers.
  7. Makes sense now. Hope you guys have a good trip, and that the weather holds off. Might make this one year, if a nice black TT6 ever comes up for sale.
  8. Just out of interest why are you taking the A7 and not M8>M74? It adds at least an extra half hour on crap roads to your journey. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=aberdeen&daddr=carlise&hl=en&sll=55.668291,-2.164307&sspn=1.76597,4.581299&geocode=FRUJaAMdOgvg_ylJddcfTAWESDFyxPRc2gW76A%3BFSKeRQMdXkDT_yECuxVmbILopg&mra=prev&t=m&z=7
  9. Not working on Chrome or IE here.
  10. Not. Keep your car OEM, if you want to add a front lip, go for an active spoiler. Nice car, everything is ready for the GTE engine now.
  11. Lovely car, in excellent condition as well. Ever consider going with the active spoiler instead of a front lip? Would keep the car OEM bodywork wise.
  12. If it's a red UK TT6 you are after why don't you go and see this one? Same price and looks in much better condition.
  13. I win. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201223474719087/sort/default/usedcars/price-to/9000/price-from/5000/model/supra/make/toyota/quicksearch/true?logcode=p
  14. You're talking about the drag racing at Knockhill, I believe Kieran was referring to Crails drag strip which he has driven down many times!
  15. Seen your supra yesterday, looked good. I was the guy in the passat that flashed you just before the BP building in Dyce. I'd spend the money on some good track tyres a couple of tanks of petrol and get down to Knockhill, really enjoy the car. Don't see enough supras on track in Scotland.
  16. Not going to happen, that's the problem when you have a monopoly on drag racing venues in Scotland. Unfortunately the beginning of the quarter mile is not drifted, otherwise they might of put some good rubber down on the track. That would be the closest thing you would get to 'prep'.
  17. I believe there was a drift/track day there a couple of days before, so that would explain it.

  19. The reaction time has no bearing on the quarter mile time. You can take as long as you like once the yellow lights go out.
  20. You should of run your new car down the strip, if you reproduced the time that Justin got 11.6, you would of won the RWD class. Link.
  21. Out of those two, I'd say the yellow one. But for that budget I'd suggest speaking to an importer to see if a black or rsp vvti 6 speed could be imported.
  22. Yeah seen it thanks, if it had the big case LSD and a less overkill clutch I'd be more interested. Sold it for £250, with one days MOT left. TBH I could of sold it ten times over at that price, add went up on gumtree, phone call 10 minutes later, collection 40 minutes later. If only selling every car was as easy.
  23. Lasted the winter no bother at all, I replaced the battery and tightened up the timing belt. Good fun with the RWD. Unfortunately didn't pass it's MOT this year though. I say "didn't pass" the test was abandoned half way through by the garage. Very long list of issues, not worth fixing. So it now lives on a farm in Forfar, teaching a 15year old how to drive.
  24. Hello Ladies and Gents. I'm on the look out for my third supra, must be a Twin Turbo Manual. I'd prefer no body kits except OEM items. Would prefer 202 Black, but open to other colours. I've trawled all the usual places and seen what is currently on the market, and nothing has taken my fancy that isn't already sold. I appeal to anyone who is thinking about selling their supra or who knows of anybody selling one locally to them. Distance isn't an issue. Budget of around 7-8k, possibly a bit more for the right car. What have you got? Thanks for looking. Steven.
  25. It's definitely not the "other" TRD one or the Blitz one. This spoiler has been discussed before, but can't remember the name of it. Hopefully Nic will be along soon, he is the guru for this sort of thing.
