  1. The one with the multicoloured wrap? It was a standard car with a wrap! He was revving it plenty when I was outside, so assume he was doing that when the "judges" were voting. Either way, that's ridiculous that such a standard car won.
  2. Who won the top 50? I didn't hang about for the results. Overall, not hugely impressed with the show as a whole. Thought the live action area could have been much better if they had a bigger area to perform in and provide some sort of viewing stand or something to allow more people to see what's going on. For £18 a head I thought it was poor. Good to meet up with everyone I said hello too and through my rose tinted glasses thought the stand was the best on display and should of been in the running for best club stand if such an award existed.
  3. And the four completely different tyres on them, that's quite an achievement.
  4. But the "V" shape is pointing forward in the pictures above. Link to videos on this page: http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/index.php/garage-whifbitz-16045.html
  5. Genuinely intrigued about the mounting of the R888's, the 3 or 4 sets I've seen in real life have all been mounted with the tread pattern going the same way. Or do you mean the left hand tyre is on the right side and vice-versa? Sorry OP for the OT chat.
  6. It's got "racing development by TRD". Advert doesn't mention what(if any) ECU it's running. Doesn't mention any extra cooling for the auto box either. "40000 miles" As said you could probably break it for about the same money if need be.
  7. Have you tried locking a breaker bar against the chassis leg and cranking the engine over to crack the nut?(obviously don't start the engine) Alternatively there is an inspection hole in the auto box which faces towards the front of the car underneath, there is a black rubber grommet (about 4" x 6") which can be removed which would then allow you to lock the crank using a breaker bar or similar. This is how I done it on my TT auto.
  8. Good price at £14k, although I expect it'd be closer to £18-20k OTR in the UK. Price probably reflects the mileage of 179000km
  9. Better option for N/A owners would be to sell up and use the money from the sale and the £4k(could get a TT auto for £4k alone) for this kit and buy TT, possibly even a TT6.
  10. Looks expensive to me. That is a heap of a supra, wouldn't pay £500 for it.

    help me!

This 100%, you will learn more about the limits of the car, how it reacts, weight transfer and how it skids on a drift day. Alternately if it is still on one piece come the winter, get out when there is snow on the ground and you can drift at much slower speeds. This will let you feel how the differential works when you break traction, you will learn plenty about car control in these conditions. There are also skid control courses that teach you about losing control with RWD & FWD cars on low friction surfaces. They will usually teach you how to "pump the brakes" in a skid situation which would be handy if your N/A doesn't have ABS.
  12. No more trips to Union Square then.
  13. +1, far too much manual *gear changing* in automatic cars.
  14. My thoughts exactly, can I ask how many miles the car has done and when was it last serviced? I've seen plenty of N/A engines take serious abuse, some with high mileage and still they run perfectly.
  15. Wow, a 200+ mile trip to help out a member. That's beyond club spirit and a truly selfless gesture. Well done Ellis. All the best for the rest of the trip, hopefully everyone has a trouble free trip.
  16. This story about trademarking BPU must be at least 10 years old now!
  17. Looks good, should look amazing once you've done the finishing touches. You keeping the current wheels as a spare set, or fitting some drag tyres to them? Had any thoughts about getting matching seats for it?
  18. Good to see you got the old beast sorted and that you are not out of pocket. Looks like a good repair job too.
  19. Just thought I'd thank Luke(apologies if the name is wrong) for managing to beat my renewal quote from the big eared animal company. As the saying goes: third time's the charm. Tried on two previous occasion to get a quote and unfortunately they weren't competitive. However I believe this was due to me being under 25 and trying to insure a Supra Turbo and a 350Z. Quote was very competitive and it was good to speak to someone who knew what they were talking about.

    Help please!

I would say check your ignitor pack, but if it's only happening when you would expect the second turbo to kick in, then it's probably relating to the second turbo. New set of j-specs required, sound only cost you £200ish.
  21. RSP for the rarity of it and it's a stunning colour that really suits the supra. Don't understand the love for MSB personally, some colours are rare for a reason.
  22. Depends on so many variables, like what common faults/preventative maintenance has been carried out on the car. But personally I'd value them as follows: N/A auto >1k N/A manual 1.5-2.5k TT auto 4-6k TT 6 speed 5-7.5k Single turbos should all be taken on their individual merits. The faults that can lead to hundreds if not thousands of pounds needing to be spent on the car is far more important IMO. Things like heater matrix, crank pulley, VSS, turbos, brake lines, power steering cooler and SMIC's could add up to a significant amount.
  23. I'm pretty sure that's Mark Luneys car with new livery, it was blue and gold last year. Think it is about 1000hp. Glad to see more Supras getting involved.
  24. Hey Ash, How did you get on at round 1? Liking the new livery. Might be worth posting a couple of pics with the new update look.
