  1. Those Ebay grooved discs and red stuff pads are probably ok, but to be honest I'd buy standard discs (or a good known brand like Delphi/Lockheed/Brembo/Girling) and CW fast road pads. Then you'll stop quickly with little noise and without cracking the discs, which is the problem with some of these Ebay cheap chinese discs.
  2. If I was younger........ I echo your sentiment, God bless.
  3. Glad they work well mate One day I'll have them back off you..... with the rest of your car when you want to sell
  4. Second hand you're looking at about £800, which is what I sold my UK front and rear set for including: Lightly used 3G grooved front discs New EBC rear grooved discs New CW fast road pads all round Stainless braided hoses Castrol race Brake fluid Callipers in good condition
  5. Usually there until its all dealt with and they've been taken away. He was a heavy dude too! Unfortunately he'd done the deed over his rucksack which i had to seize. Lets just say that I had to root around in there to get some lower extremity bits out. And even after tripple bagging the rucksack the crawly things were still getting out Sorry if you're eating your dinner!
  6. It may not effect him as much as you'd think, well not right away. However if he gets any of the following symptoms he will need to seek help: Problems sleeping Constant irritability Increased reliance on alcohol Low sex drive Flashbacks PTSD affects a lot of people and the family are first to notice. I went to something similar a couple of years back after 3 other visits by colleagues who had put it down to a 'smell of nature'. Being a death hound I was sent and immediately spotted the telltale signs.... abandoned car close by with tax run out a couple of days ago full of posessions. Behind the driver's seat was a length of aluminium flexi hose flattened down at one end and tapered at the other to fit over the exhaust pipe and into the boot. Thing is modern cars are so clean they won't do the job. And the smell! He was 20 feet away next to a very busy footpath, actually visible through the bush. He'd been there 10 days in the heat of summer I actually thought his face was moving at first...... until I saw that it wasn't his face that was moving! His phone kept alerting to say he had a text.... the cookoo cookoo noise. Everytime I hear this I get the smell and his face. Wierd! You get used to it. As we were cutting him down the coroner was discussing what he was going to have for breakfast at the local greasy spoon.
  7. Can you get an electric pump, or even a pump attachment to a drill and use that to prime the system through the oil pressure switch? About an hour to do as a guess. Then crank it with the pump attached and you'll get oil pressure! Remove the external pump and crank again... it'll work

    Hi everyone

    Hi and welcome /vbb/images/smilies/bbcode_grin.gif
  23. Rob. We'll see what the oil analysis comes back with, but if there has been oil pressure loss due to oil volume loss then I'd expect the turbo bearings to be shot due to this and not due to contamination. The bearing damage in the turbo will be galling which may well look like contamination i.e. dirt entry into the oil. The other possibility is that the main or big end bearings got damaged and debris have passed into the turbo oil supply..... tho this is less likely. Lets hope the base engine has a normal level of readings for bearing material
