  1. Can't you get Mr T to work more overtime? lol Sorry Tony, I know you work a lot of hours as it is! Can't you downsize the FRV and keep the Supe? Or work part time from home? I sold mine for similar reasons and still regret it even though it was definately the right thing to do. In fact I may just get an NA to make myself feel better
  2. In soup???? Must run in the family Duck soup is my favourite lol
  3. Well this worked the other day! Screw through the edge of the tread of my new low profile on the back of the Focus. Pulled over and changed it immediately. Problem is that the screw was about 3 inches long and had worn out the inside of the tyre sidewall, making it scrap! £72 later for another brand new tyre Still, I wouldn't have noticed it was flat as it was being held up by the low profile sidewalls which are pretty rigid! I could have continued driving on it until it fell off Next time it may save the tyre
  4. Can't believe this hasn't gone yet. I thought they went for much more?
  5. I've found that pulling someone else's finger (when they are pointing at something) makes me fart...... is that just coincidence? "Twist!!!"

    Ticking

Clutch release bearing. It may stop ticking if you pump the clutch pedal up and down a few times in neutral. If it does then it definately is the release bearing. Its telling you it needs replacing soon, though I'd only do it if its constantly making the noise or the clutch needs replacing as well. Best to get a spare and schedule it to get changed at the next service.
  7. Tony, this is excellent This is sure going to be a great engine when its done. Regarding pushing the valves in past the valve seals, doesn't the seal come with a clear plastic 'top hat' for the valve stem to protect the seal lip? I've seen VW ones come with a 'top hat' in the seal that the top of the stem locates in then the valve pushes through the seal and the 'top hat' removed.
  8. So.... the big question is..... Are you a 'window licker' as H so eloquently puts it? And did anyone see Finger Lickin Chicken man on Xtra Factor just now.... Cluck cluck
  9. Nope... didn't sound any better the second or third times. However I think I have wet myself
  10. The french guy???? I've got it recorded..... may have to watch it again
  11. Try this for a cheaper way: http://www.shiply.com/
  12. Wierd as ever Ewen! You are a legend sir
  13. Afraid so mate. Its a stopgap store room. The real garage will be built later when funds allow hence the proper base. Cheers Brett
  14. I've been doing it for ages. I call it 'Virtually stolen'. I put a note in the car/house or whetever saying. "Hi, I' could have been a theif but luckily I'm not. However, all your valuables have been virtually stolen. Please contact me on the number above to get them back". Not only does it make people much more aware, it prevents crime as I get to the goodies first, before the bad guys!
  15. Now, that's what I was thinking. Drilling will be ok before assembling the garage over the loose anchors in the holes. Then a couple of weeks later tighten them up as the concrete should be able to take the stress without cracking. Its C25 so hopefully will hold out I laid it onto 100mm compacted hardcore covered in DPM..... and the light rain that has just started is preventing it drying out too fast Sound like a decent plan? Oh, and thanks Mike & all
  16. Happy birthday to the birthday girl Many happy returns Anja
  17. So 24 to 28 days then drill. I think I'll assemble the garage on top of it and wait a bit before I fasten it down then! I need if finished and ready to store my tools in by the end of the month lol
  18. Did I go too deep???? My theory is better go too much than too little.... I apply that to everything in life Hard work??? Yes! I think i sweated my own body weight out, and then leveling it is a real arm killer. And to think I'm going for 2 weeks rehab for my neck/shoulder next week as its fooked Hope I didn't make it any worse lol
  19. Ok, there will be someone here that knows the answer to this I've just laid a 120mm deep 3 x 5 m concrete garage base to put a bolt together metal (Mechano?) garage on. The garage needs bolting into the concrete witj expanding anchors. How long should I leave it before drilling and fitting the anchors, and how long before tightening them up? Ta peeps! p.s. 3.5 Tons of concrete is a pain on your own with a knackered arm/shoulder lol

  22. Hi Joe Glad to hear you're well. Shame about the car, but other things take priority sometimes!
  23. It will also tell you if a tyre is starting to delaminate as this tyre will get hotter than the rest and pressure will increase more then the others. If you've ever had a tyre delaminate or suddenly blow out at speed it is at best frightening and at worst lethal....... look at the Ford Explorer problems with people being killed in the US. This is why TPMS is now mandatory on all new cars over there. Far, far better than a £1 guage!
  24. Just stick some Meopore over it and it'll be fine
