close enough to give me a lift to work
  6. What engine is that? I cant tell....... fuel system and coilovers look well sorted for the track Car looks great......... dont you suppose you have a video?
  7. So how are things going with this? Wrap looks awesome..... my GTR is going custom wrap soon, the 2 would look good next to each other
  8. I like that hoist thing, rather cool........ just need it to be automated now
  9. I love the red and black combo, hence the GTR being exactly that Right now, that is in 1st place and this is a close 2nd http://machine66.com/img/2016/01/Datsun-240z-.jpg
  10. Finally bits of metal have just arrived at workshop so this should be getting done over the next few days and then shell will be prepped for paint.......... and I thought I was decided on colour, then saw this red, which I now love Full article http://www.speedhunters.com/2016/02/old-dogs-new-tricks-datsun-z-2-flavours/
  11. My missus bought a new top of the range Evoque..... looked great, interior was very nice and drove well, when it worked. Within 2 years we had around 12 callouts with Land Rover roadside assistance. Numerous issues, mostly electrical related. Then she bought an old disco, just as big a mistake! I stay well clear of anything Land Rover/Jaguar! And Im not the only one:- http://landroverhell.com/article/8199/i-will-never-buy-a-land-rover-sport-again
  12. Yes, in standing water Cool, will use that track day to kill off the current R888s
  13. I did a track day at Goodwood on the R888s at about 2.5mm in lots of rain and it was fine 1 set of R888s a year sounds much better! How many are you doing? Going to the one on June 13th?
  14. Quick update Just ordered up the final bits of metal I require (the rear inner arches) and as soon as they are done the car will be prepped to be painted. Sadly, still undecided on colour (gunmetal grey or blue).......... Have bought:- Wheels and tyres Bumpers (bought ages ago) Arch extenders (bought ages ago) Fender mirrors (bought ages ago) Side clear indicators (bought ages ago) Have ordered:- Repair panels Front valiance Front clear indicators Rear strut brace Master bushing kit Still to order:- Shocks Springs Going to leave the interior as it was for now (expect for refurbing steering wheel, gearknob and replacing a small broken panel) to see what state it is actually in, been so long since I actually had the car! But will eventually add/replace seats, seatbelts, harnesses and fix the dash.
  15. Thats the plan, the GTROC prices on the 888s is brilliant! Im waiting for Paul to get his car back with the front diff, will see how much difference it makes for him. Will speak to Goldie when I can
  16. Since I am keeping the car, this year is going to be a general tidy up on the car, to make sure everything is perfect Done:- -New windscreen (already chipped ) -New ASNU injectors (and remap) to reduce black smoke -Refurbed wheels -Silicone piping To be done:- -Custom wrap goes on in June -New tyres (R888s) -New brakes -Will repaint the calipers with the new brakes Might be on the list for this year:- -New front seats -Remove rear seats (allow more space for bags, etc) -Front diff (waiting to see a friends car with a quaiffe front diff) Just done 600 miles last weekend going to Holland and back to look at the tulips. Will be out at N24 at the end of this month and then a couple of GTR owners are doing a tour of Europe in September.
  17. Thanks for bringing this back up, made my day EDIT.... what are the other threads that need to be bumped periodically? There is drag racing and bonnet catch, right? Feel the need to bump something old and funny...... oh yes and stupid things you have done always a good read http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35035-Okay-lets-hear-your-stupid-moments-!!!
  18. cant even see a cable tie, but no
  19. Can you tell what was 3d printed in this photo?
  20. This car is for my missus to have a bit of fun at track and wow does she have that! The SC is because she pretty much goes round 90% of Thruxton with her foot welded to the floor, so she needs to learn braking and oversteer its so progressive, nothing close to how a turbo comes on, so think it will make the MX5 rather good. All the changes we made we for specific reasons and everytime we have thought it was money well spent. Lets hope the SC is the same..... Cheaper than buckets, but I really like the buckets, although a PITA to get out of the car.
  21. Did that.... left it all standard and then tracked it.... the "lean" was just silly, felt like a sidesill was going to touch the tarmac! We were also both bracing knees on dash and doors, because the standard leatehr(ette) seats do nothing for you while cornering, was good for a laugh though Hahaa, sort of at that point now, because work on the SC has taken a lot longer than expected so missing quite a few track days this year but the additional power will make the MX5 just about perfect in my mind so worth the wait. Should be done in the next 2 weeks, cant wait! On the coilover discussion here is the car at CC on the MeisterR coilovers (they usually have a groupbuy running on MX5Nutz) on standard road settings and this was a HUGE improvement over standard! Then the improvement this to set for track was another big step, so worth the money
