  1. Yup, your right Dan, but still feel the love. How's your refurbed turbos going? have you really pushed them yet? Iv'e just today had the nod from my wife to get my spare set down to CR and get them jobbied and then I can fit them. Then of course there is all this in supra chat about crank pullies, so think I might look at that next, then it will be coming around time to get some new CW pads agian, it just never ends does it. Cheers. Bob.
  2. Well, all sorted now, I have a few people to thank before I run through what I did. Thanks to Rob/Dr_Doom and Phil/Terminater for offering up thier spare pumps so quickly, and thanks to Colsoop and Darron Q for getting me to check out the reservoir in more detail. Colsoop suggested I remove the filter and clean it, I couldn't get into let alone find a filter in the reservoir sos what's the next best thing, flush it, so into service manual and found flushing and replacing the fluid which I did, then got all the air out, fill to correct level and Roberts your mothers brother. Took it back in today and passed. Thanks all who helped. Bob.
  3. I'll have a look at that tomorrow, saves me spending money if I dont have to. Bob.
  4. If I replace the pump does it matter if it comes off a j spec or uk I'm uk?
  5. Does anyone know if it matters weather it comes from a j spec or a uk because I'm uk? Thanks Phil, how much would you want for it? Bob.
  6. Hi everyone, car failed MOT, and the main problem was the power stearing, slight judder when car stood still or moving slowly, fluid level is ok and the garage says its the pump. The car is my only drive so I'm stuck till I can source a pump and obviously I don't realy want to pay Mr T for one if I can help it. So with all that said and if you didn't guess I'm after a power stearing pump thats in good order. Thanks. Bob.
  7. Car failed its MOT yesterday on just a few little things but one of them was the power stearing, it judders slightly when turning, when the car is stationary or moving very slowly, its ok normally. The fluid level is fine and the garage thinks the pump is going, so I need to get hold of a second hand pump in working order as quick as I can, the car is my only drive. I have put a thread in Wanted but I'm just trying to get as many people to see this as possable, sorry Mod's. Thanks. Bob.
  8. Sorry to hear about this Konrad, I hope you get it back ok. Bob.
  9. What a differance the nice weather made too, had a good day, sorry I didn't get much chance to talk to anyone, had a friend with me it's his first time to japfest, first time in a Supra, and first time doing the convoy thing. Think he enjoyed it, my feet are aching from all the walking. Yes, I too was a bit dissapointed with there being so few Supras on track, ( says he all parked up and watching) and also agree with the comment of All the Supras being in one spot together. Beside all that I think I want an NSX for track days, V impressed by them, our club and the Supras in general were by far the best turned out car group there. Well done to everyone who organised stuff, thanks. Bob.
  10. Hi Dan, I get a small howl now and again, but every time I put number one under a good load it seems to make a rattly tickie sound, sort of, hard to explain realy, has to be heard. I want to do exactly the same as you are doing, but I do not have the funds, how's that going by the way? Bob.
  11. Ok, thanks, damb! looks like a Yorkshireman might have to spend some money for a re-furb soon. Thanks. Bob.
  12. Are the stock turbos interchangable? by that I meen can I put a number two turbo in, inplace of number one? The reason I ask is my number one is making some noises, I think it is coming to the end of its time, have a spare set of turbos, I was thinking that the 2nd turbo does not get as much wear as the first and may be I could swop the spare second turbo for the first on the car. Any help or advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Bob.
  13. The only thing that comes to mind with your discription is bushes, does it seem to do it more when you go over small bumps? and is it quite a deep knock that seems to come more from under/outside the car? Bob.
  14. Get both your car and the OE spoiler sprayed with the colour, ask sprayer to give you some of the paint mix, leave it spoilerless for a while, get some small gromits (Halfords or DIYs) paint them, stick them in holes so it looks ok. After a few weeks make a dissision, "to spoil or not to spoil", and if you buy a new spoiler down the line then you have some of the paint mix to respray it. Bob.
  15. It's not too bad a job once you jump in and go for it, though as you say those back bolts are hard to get fingers on to and your'e constantly thinking about dropping them. Obviously when I took the whole turbo set out I had to take off the heat shield so while it was off I rubbed it down and painted it with no problems after. It does look good now you have them on. Bob.
  16. Good one Scott, even though you lost a lot thats still well put together. Well done mate. Bob.
  17. Good day yesterday I actually talked to some new people, shame the car got dirty even before we got to dorking, I'm quite pleased that my work on the turbos held up. See some of you at Wheels in motion or Japfest. When's the next one? late summer/autumn? Bob.
  18. Shit, just got up to find its been raining here In the Portsmouth area, I've just checked the weather and it should be ok for the rest of the day, typical though isn't it, three weeks of great sun then it has to rian last night. Question is, do I bother to dry it and hope the roads dry up, or have a big fry up for brekie. See you in a few hours. Bob.
  19. No problem Fitz, I'm easy whatever we do, I can imagine that at about the time we would hit Brighton I also think it may be manic, but it is a good cruise. I'm just happy to go out for a nice long drive with like minded people, we all know its going to cost at least a full tank, but, shades on, sun out, good roads in a great car, who could resist. On on. Bob.
  20. Well, once I sorted yet another problem, I used Matts method, it took a while for my water to sort its self out (think I had an air lock somewhere), everything good at the moment. Its just so scarey when you have done something like that then you come to the moment of trueth. Anyway thanks for all your help. Bob.
  21. Turbos sorted, I'm sorted, see you all tomorrow. Juanchan, I'm up for a meet at parkway carpark, what time?
  22. cheers Matt, thank god he came out and mentioned it or I would have put it all together and fired it up. Sorry my communication is slow I'm dashing up when I finnish each bit, is there any other things I should watch out for when I start to test them out? Bob.
  23. I have just replaced my turbos, I'm just putting the last few bits together then fresh oil and water, my son just happened to mention "are you going to crank the engine over to get the oil around the turbos first before you start it up fully?". My question is, is he right and if he is how is this achieved? Cheers. Bob.
  24. Thanks for the thoughts and wishes, something doesn't want me to have a good time on the south coast runs, as Fitz says at last years one my EGCV busted, (no 2nd turbo). I have most of the turbo system out now just need to take off the last 8 nuts holding the turbos to the exhaust side then lift them out, put the second pair in and all back together, (easier said than done), if all goes well I should still be there. Though I do have one problem at least 3 of the smaller vacume hoses have split when taking them off (old age), Im hoping that I can get a length of the right size stuff from Mr T to cut to size and replace them. Is there anywhere else I could get hose from? Thanks for the offer of help Matt, if it realy starts to become a problem I'll give you a shout. I'll post again tomorrow. Bob.
