  1. I agree. It's not the same pedigree as the mkiv. for starters its not even a Toyota engine. Such a letdown.
  2. Have you replaced the ignitor? Were the coil oacks new oem ones?
  3. Yeah that. From what I've seen the castings are the same, just GTE have oil feeds and squirters but they can be added as mentioned above. It's better to use them IMHO even though forged pistons dont have the oil galleries in them like the 2jz gte cast ones, as it cools the piston skirt better than none.
  4. Cheers. Thought he was referring to the TT engine... my bad
  5. Ah sorry, thought you were referring between manual and auto 2jz gte engines. yes, agreed on the NA engine.
  6. What? Lower compression? cams?!! An auto needs more work to get the car setup right, for example Ive got a titan autobox and a titan hi stall, but it now goes like a rocket off the line and will taze a like for like power manual car in a straight line. That's why auto's are the preferred boxes for serious drag racing. But when I ran the car on a stock auto box and stock stall converter, it was still very rapid but did bog down off the line a bit. Still worth doing in my opinion if you own a TT auto and want to go really fast! The only slight drawback (with any auto) is the handling doesn't have the same range as a manual as you don't have the same amount of downshift capabilities etc; but I'm always so far ahead of the other car in standard situations it makes no difference to me.

    Possible scam site

The site is showing on archive.org as only having existed since August 2018 .It has no domain history and the company alleged to be behind it is AUTO FOX 24 GMBH based in Germany. I would say its dodgy as hell mate.
  8. It's a good point. Only a move for a hardcore fanatic!! Would need a friendly MOT place I would think for sure. Definately a very niche option, albeit possibly the only way to make the car the way it should have been in my opinion. Well, to be fair I would have thought an all new version of the 2j would have been the benchmark that Toyota should have been aiming for. A GTR beater!
  9. Most disappointing. I think when prices drop on them, they will be a prime candidate for 2jz implantation and some serious work. If nothing else to show Toyota what they could have done.
  10. (hound is not for sale **see photobomb!** All splines are in very good condition, as are the driveshafts. Even the rubber gaitors are in good order.
  11. Will do mate. Not sure, never compared them side by side but this is for a 6 speed.
  12. As above, pair of driveshafts in good condition. I was going to keep them for a project build but no time to do it at present so having a parts cleanout. £350 plus p and p (approx £15) or cash on collection or arrange your own pickup.
  13. You would surely be better off spending some dosh on it and getting the work done; then selling it for what you paid plus costs. Although I think your advert is very honest indeed, it may struggle to sell needing such a lot of work.
  14. Camero, firebird, dodge charger and some others use the t56 in various forms
  15. This guy has the nicest kits and the full race ones hold huge power, with a warranty allegedly! https://www.grannasracing.com/products/supra-t56-magnum-swap-kit-mkiv-2jz-tr6060
  16. Ah yes, sorry mate, didn't realise you had an auto (s)! I think your right; I am surprised to see that Bogies car hasn't sold yet to be honest. They are definately seen as the 'second choice' looking at the wanted adverts. Possibly single turbo autos selling better than stockers? Who knows. If it comes to it I would keep mine rather than keep dropping on price after what I've spent on it. Would just need to sort out some long term storage to free garage space up!!
  17. I Disagree. Mines an auto and will be up for a bit more than bogies, but it is a big single with loads of work done and upgraded parts, full respray etc . I suppose it depends on what people want. If people get a problem with the manual gearbox now, they have pretty much shot their load and are going to be well in ££££ trying to get it either rebuilt or sorted. The autos dont carry that risk. Even running a Titan gearbox the risk/cost is still far lower with most parts fully available for the A340e. But then I would say that. I have an auto For investment purposes though, the manual is definately more desirable and will always command a premium over an auto
  18. but it would fit and looks ok if the advert is to be believed and they have nearly 5000 positive feedbacks and have sold a few cranks and heads. Long way for a return though lol
  19. Listen to what people are telling you Fulcrum2000, it doesn't seem to be going in. Ring Chris W and go from there.
  20. Cranks are the same in 2jz gte and 2jz ge motors (tt and na).
  21. As mentioned. A new good used crank would be a far better bet than reusing one thats had a spun bearing. The dynamics involved in a spun bearing pretty much mean that there has to be some damage to it. ChrisW knows his stuff, as does this writer http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2017/03/engine-bearing-technology-spin-spun-bearings/
  22. Agreed! I've got a Dax kit car with a built rs focus motor to finish off!! The missus doesn't appreciate my extensive garage/car time as much nowadays...!
