You've quoted Wikipedia for one. Try to find me a team that didn't have an element of hooliganism in at that time...it just so happens it was Liverpool that were at that place at that time at a badly planned event in an unfit stadium. Bringing that out in response to this story (which is probably exaggerated tenfold by now even it it did happen) is just stupid.

I'm in Chester, pretty much right in the middle . Nice area normally, don't get too many issues like this although as with most places there seems to have been an increase in 'hoodies' lately..
-
I did get the reg yes and passed it on to the police on the phone. I thought the same thing...someone got these scrots to nick it and then they found a nice 'safe' area for the exchange.

Hmmm, the flats are mostly rented so I think the council are ultimately responsible (although when the fence came down the council themselves came knocking trying to get me to do it:no:). Worth a try maybe!
-
I thought about that, risk is if someone cuts themself then they'd probably try suing me (but then they'd have to prove it was me that put it there I supose)

Some kids just dumped a crossbow in the bushes behind my flat! I was going to go out & confront them but what with recent stabbings etc you just can't be sure these days. One of them gets on the phone, then 5 mins later they reappear as does a plain white transit van - they proceed to fish it out of the bush, give it to the guy in the van after some sort of exchange (one of them was leaning in the window but couldn't quite see if anything was handed over) and then trundle off. Called the police as the van was turning up but they didn't get here in time, all they could do really was keep look out for the van I suppose. All very dodgy and makes me fear for my Supra parked outside now - my area is very nice & quiet but since a fence at the back of the cul-de-sac came down in last years high winds (which my council refuse to repair) we have all sorts of undesirables using it as a shortcut now. This country....

Nasty, sorry to hear this. I love those tunnels up at Colwyn Bay and often spend a sunday morning having a little balst through them (if they are empty of course). As said its a common problem now with foreign trucks as they can have a blind spot if mirrors are not added / adjusted for RHD. Root cause - UK fuel prices making it cheaper for 40T Euro lorries to do haulage here than our own hauliers

That was my plan...was just going to protect the lights and the front of the bonnet & bumper with it. The chance to get access to a tyre fitter would be great, I could buy my new rears up front, happily take the current set down to the canvas then get the new set fitted for the drive home. Is there an area to leave belongings you don't want in the car or do you guys tend to trust that none of the lightfingered brigade wiould attend an event at an RAF base? Obvioulsy I'll be removing things like my sub but was thinking stuff like food / jackets (and tyres now maybe!)

and an external waist gate:confused:

You don't know that we wouldn't have been better with him on from the start though...nights like this I think you just have to trust Rafa, after all this is about the 6th or 7th time we have been significant underdogs and come out on top mainly due to his team selection and tactics. League games I totally agree, its hard to fathom how we can scrape a draw with Birmingham at Anfield yet roast the runaway leaders of Serie A but we seem to thrive on being unerdogs and under the cosh. I'm happy tonight anyway:D

Anybody had any experience with these? From what I've read, the 'normal' Chris Wilson fast road pads I've currently got will not hold up too well on the Marham trackday! Ideally I'm looking for a pad that will hold up to the rigours of the day but that I don't have to remove for road use (obviously I want to be able to stop on cold mornings without having to ride the brakes for 2 mins first to get some heat in the pads). The DS2500's seem to suit the profile, but there are numerous manufacturers that offer similar claims and I know from experience that they don't always hold water on slightly 'heavier' cars (no UK spec comments please:p) capable of reaching high speeds very quickly. Any recommendations welcomed. If I have to keep 2 sets of F&R pads then so be it, but would prefer to avoid the PITA of removal and re-fitting.

I always thought the UK scoop was there to aid cooling to the rear of the block / exhaust as there was an expectation of sustained higher speeds (similarly the additional gearbox cooler and diff cooler). Can't see how it would improve MPG either.

I blame the players nearly as much as Rafa, some of them are just not cutting it this season in terms of effort & decisions despite being given a chance to improve. At the end of the day though, he continues to field a changed squad game after game (and keeps playing some of the aforementioned lame ducks) and the fluency of movement has disappeared from early in the season. I think it does depend a lot on Tuesday's performance, but before that there are rumors of a big press conference on Monday...DIC related maybe? If rafa gets sacked, a new guy comes in, players leave and new players are brought but the club stays in limbo for a few more years. Personally i would like to see him given another season and the big mouth Americans get the boot

Hi all Marham is about 10 miles from where I was brought up so am seriously considering this as a combo with a vist home. Can you add me as a strong maybe for the Sat until I confirm in the next day or so. For those that have been before, how harsh is the track on Tyres & brakes etc? My rears have about 3mm tread left so wondering if I should bite the bullet before or after!
-
As said by others..you lucky b*stard! Perhaps THE Supra benchmark for all-round ability combined with cosmetic enhancements?
-
I've used that exact combo too...so far so good.

I'm in Chester...prepared to travel a bit if needed but obviously not to Glasgow or something:D Its not the end of the world to put the 2nd CAT back in, its just an hours labour that i could do without paying!

With computerised MOT's now in effect, it seems to be more and more difficult to find a place that will be helpful with de-catted cars. I still have both CATs so can always ask for one to be temporarily replaced, but just wondered if anyone had found a place in the Chester / Liverpool / Manchester area that is still a bit more creative shall we say! Also, if I do have ask for it to be put one back in, which is the easier / more effective one to put back...small section or the longer S bend type one? Thanks:)

Provisonally sold:( With regret, I'm tentatively putting my beautiful UK spec up for sale as I'm considering jobs in Australia. Mileage is now 104K (I have covered 5k) MOT is until mid Jan 2009 Will be re-taxed with 6 months before sale As you can see, its a real beauty and turns heads everywhere it goes. I have owned the car for 10 fun-filled months but I can only just afford to run it as it is and really need to start saving some cash for potential visas & paying off other debts. The car is BPU+ (FMIC) and is run at 1.0-1.2 bar giving an estimated 380-400bhp with a bit more possible at 1.3 bar. It was a previous club members car for over 4 years and has been exceptionally well looked after with no expense spared. I have recently given it a full Pro S oil change and fitted new front tryes, but as you'd expect it runs like a dream and goes very well when required. 2nd hand seatbelts have now been fitted as the originals had stopped retracting on their own. There are a couple of small blemishes on the extremities of the car which I haven't got round to touching up, but generally the paintwork is fantastic. No mechanical faults whatsoever as far as I can tell, everything still works as it should, build quality is very good, engine still very smooth with no smoke. I am looking for £11k including the private plate (M5UPR) which is worth at least £500 and would rather avoid the hassle of having to change it if possible (it really finishes the car anyway). To save me spending all day uploading pictures see my garage or pm me for more info. Thanks for looking! Just booked myself into a rather expensive beach front hotel here for an extra couple of days after a business trip. It looks like a cool place and has been recommended to me but just wondered if anyone else has been? If so would appreciate some tips of where to go & what to do!
