  1. Wahey! Another one with some decent taste LOL. Not so sure about the mesh though
  2. Read about that in the paper the other day - sounds interesting!
  3. stick a '+' sign in between the two words - that usually works
  4. Finally managed to get the relevent bits of the car apart to change the cam belt and noticed that while the exhaust cam is relatively easy to turn with a spanner, the inlet cam is stiff as hell:( Anyone got any ideas as to why/how this might happen? No grinding noises or any kind of roughness when turning the bugger so I'm somewhat at a loss:( :( Next plan is to strip down the inlet system and get the cam cover off for a visual inspection - any ideas what I should be looking out for please??
  5. Nice prices thanks Lucifer - but no longer a worry:) Finally managed to get the bolt from hell off and the pulley (welded a socket onto the bolt and brute forced it off). Unfortunately the problems continue - very stiff inlet cam :(
  6. Ages ago when I was looking for a Porker (shame on me ), Paragon Porsche reccomended customers to ignore the milage and buy on condition - look through the cosmetic niceties and really look at the condition of the car - a far better indication of how well it has/hasn't been looked after.
  7. ......still needs a fuel computer
  8. Aw shit:( Another total bargain I can't afford right now :( Why do these things always come along when I'm skint? (still gotta sort out with Lucifer on my side skirts) LOL
  9. Which Marcos? The newish ones with the hump back or the older ones with the cattle grid on the bonnet?

    Hi All

Looks nice and tidy mate - not too sure about the front end though! Welcome dude anyway :)
  11. We tried a flat sided socket - it went 'ping' (cheap one), we tried an impact socket bracing the bar against the chassis and trying to crack it with the starter motor - the nut eventually started to round off (both using the correct puller/locking tool). We are now at the stage where the nut is beginning to round off so the next step is to weld a socket in place and use the locking tool and a scaffold pole (actually a nice, extra long jack handle). If all else fails - it's time to get Medieval on it's ass!! (in which case I'll probably be needing that replacement pulley)
  12. we tried one already starting to slip
  13. needed for my baby. Had three of us pouring over the bloody bolt this evening trying to get the bugger off. After knackering one socket and practically rounding off the bolt, we've decided to weld an old socket over the nut and try it that way. However, if all else fails, does anyone have a crank pulley (may have to get grinders/heat gun etc. out on the stubborn bugger:(). Not a definate yet - just looking at cost and availability - cheers all :)
  14. Dave, all that will do is cause an obstruction and reduce air flow.
  15. ......Spanish Inquisition? NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION :)

    NA tuning

Likewise, if you only have £4k capital then an N/A makes sense - you cna then spend in smaller amounts tuning it! I'm sure that the guy didn't ask "Which Supra should I buy for 300brake" if he had done so tnen "Buy a TT" would have been a logical answer

For the same reason thet you buy any car and then mod it surely?? Half the fun of modding a car isn't just the BHP output at the end but actually piecing everything together over time and changing it all about - like TT drivers who go single looking for 500bhp - why not buy a 'rari or a Lambo in the first place etc.? As to N/A power, try Lucifer - he has a naice exhaust manifold which is reported to be good for around 10 brake. + the mods listed already and ad in some cams perhaps. Unfortunately 300bhp is somewhat unrealistic without very, very deap pockets

    Brake pads.

I only have the fronts (rears are still awaiting an up-grade) - I'll take some pics of the pads tomorrow evening and PM them to you - that way you can check how much meat's on them. Postage + a few beers will see me fine cheers mate :)
  19. "How to disarm a man with a banana" "bang - now eat the banana and he is disarmed" Or who can ever forget the parrot sketch? LMFAO
