  1. Well, as in the post title, the saga continues. Migster came round again to look at my cam and gave it and the journal a bloody good clean up.I put everything back together (with lashings of oil) with a plan to warm her up and do several oil changes. I fired her up (took a few goes) and she ran fine but the oil pressure light remained on. I 'think' I heard knocking after a minute or so but TBH I was too scared to let her run long enough to confirm it. Now, my thinking is this;- the oil pump is knackered, caused low oil pressure which made the cam journal run dry thus almost seizing the cam (the cap was a bit of a mess!), now that everything is back together and turning, the oil pump is still knackered thus the oil pressure light is staying on. Sound reasonable or am I missing something simple?
  2. LOL Yeah:Pling: I remember that one - couple of years ago. Had me (a spanner numpty) in stitches:D
  3. AOK here too:) And the dictionary bit seems to work LOL
  4. Cheers mate, Migster's popping round tomorrow to have a quick look for me. He thinks we can possibly salvage things by gently sanding the lower journal and he has a new upper anyway. Gonna give it a go and try to flush all/any shit out with a couple of oil changes - loads of cheap Halfords stuff to flush through followed by a filter change and quality oil. Fingers crossed :)
  5. Sorry dude - already been done:( Who do you think runs all the Safety Camera Partnerships? :p
  6. OK, got the cam off and found that the very front cap/bearing thingy is filled with black gunk and scored to hell!! As soon as I released that one the cam turned quite easily - got them all off (only managed to lose one bolt!) and looked at the lower bearings and the very front one (just behind the cam wheel) is knackered!! Are these replaceable or am I looking at a new/replacement head? Also, what might have caused it??
  7. LOL @ No1 pratt boy's reply to Ash:) Apparently we all are know nothing sheep and most of us only have the bottom-of-the-range SZs (OK, I do ), and we diss lambo doors so we must be crap innit. Jeez, to think I was prepared to give the guy a chance - he certainly sounds like a 17yr old boy (as do most of them on there who have replied) with far too much money!! One of his mate'sis raving about how quick the car is - of course it is you fukwit - you're used to a poxy punto, a crap corsa, a nasty nova or a shit saxo!!! Oh well, let him impress his mates and save our forum from that carbuncle he calls a nice motor
  8. Might wanna warn peeps that it's a 38meg file!!!
  9. I don't think HID bulbs will flash (unless you get the very expensive ones possibly) as they take a few seconds to warm up
  10. Oh:Pling: Spookey:blink: my plate's N924 FKE
  11. Sounds interesting:Pling: Any ideas on expected outputs/gains? What would we (possibly) be looking at when combined with your zorst headers??
  12. Sounds good to me I'll have a look at the cam tonight (found the bolt sequence at last) once I can get the car into the garage (bloody rain) and if it looks buggered I'll get back to you
  13. Been having major problems with her - kept jumping teeth. I stripped of the cam belt assembly (crank pulley, belt, tensioner etc.) and found out that the inlet cam is very, very stiff. Figured that it might be cheaper/easier/quicker to replace the head rather than stripping the cam off and finding that the valves are buggered somehow. Just trying to find out what sort of cost I could be loking at (although complete engines seem to go for around £300)
  14. Looks like I may well be in need of a replacement head for my N/A - anyone got one (+ prices please) - promise not to call anyone a c**t:d
  15. cam belt tensioner on it's way out possibly???
  16. ..or mabe he was simply posting to see if it was an actual order? Personally I didn't read it as an agressive post or a stroppy one- perhaps there's history between these two that the rest of us are unaware of??? Either way I think the reaction was completely out of proportion and out of order.
  17. LOL :d K14 SUP, wind steal like in sailing where the upwind vessel 'steals' the wind out of the sails of the downwind vessel by blocking it, thus leaving the downwind vessel with no wind and therefore no forward power.
  18. LOL :d Sorry to hear of your accident mate - unfortunately accidents are comparatively common in 'chuting:( I had more than one mate have a 'traumatic impact with mother earth:( including one who managed to completely dissapear during a wet night jump - he was washed up 4 days later miles away from the DZ:Pling: On the possitive side - it's fantastic fun, a total rush and one that, once you're down safely, leaves you busy figuring out how fast you can get back up to do it all again:) Never actually jumped with a civvy rig but I've known a few guys who went out stateside for some jumps and was told it was totally amazing - bright sunshine and warm all the way down:Pling: The main trick is to take care, then check and take some more care, then check etc. etc. :d
  19. Same thing dude - do it right and both have the potential to leave you wet, messy and with a big grin on your face, do it wrong and both will leave you in the shit:d
  20. I gave up wearing green pyjamas:d As pointed out bt our airborne friend, you'll need to do some other jumps first. Dunno if civvy clubs use static line jumps but definately a few tandem/low level exits first. Worth noting - lower altitude jumps can be harder to exit as things (the ground) looks more real than when at higher altitudes
  21. Used to do lots of it (usually dressed in green/black and at night) - best adrenaline rush EVER:) Make sure you use a reputable place/club and prehaps try a tandem jump or two first
