  1. What about the Ray the roof award for interclub relations? Must be someone that's pissed off another club this year somehow?
  2. Same thing here, it will be coolant coming out from the coupling furthest away from the rad. It then drips down onto the fan and gets splattered up there. I had to do mine up pretty damn tight to stop it seeping - seems to be worse with the shiny pipe.
  3. You can't get them the wrong way round. You can accidentaly put the intake one in the exhaust side but not the other way round as the front bearing is wider on the exhaust cam.
  4. You don't need anything if you re-use your old o-rings and rubber washers. Might be worth getting some new ones from Toyota in case you lose some.
  5. Just follow the link that Gordon posted, that tells you what the model number means. No need for the EPC. boromfccup, I would edit out your VIN number from your earlier post, you don't really want that posted up in public.
  6. No, I think what happened was they got an offer to produce some other TV series and ended up doing that so never got round to finishing it. I think it ran once on the drag strip and posted a rubbish time in the 15s for some reason. Third part in mpeg form here: http://www.simonb.org/videos/2nrSupra3.mpg (4th still uploading)
  7. It should be ok, I just downloaded the first bit off my site to check and it played ok. Did it download the whole thing, you should have a 63mb file? The 2nd is here, I'll upload the other 2 tomorrow: http://www.simonb.org/videos/2nrSupra2.mpg
  8. Well the first one I have uploaded (hopefully) and it's here:- http://www.simonb.org/videos/2nrSupra1.mpg It's a 63Mb mpeg, right click and save as. I had to resume it a few times so hopefully it works! The 2nd is uploading now, taking ages though. That's the trouble with ADSL I guess...
  9. I was just going to post up about that, they're called Twins Turbo or something. You have to get past them calling everything "super-trick" though . I've got them downloaded here as mpegs, are those ones avis or something? I was going to upload them and post a link up but the bloody ftp connection to my webspace keeps timing out. I'll have another go.
  10. Ah, you're making me get in the Le Mans mood again! Plenty of time to book for next year still. And that's my flimsy excuse to post up a link to the trailer for this years DVD! Must finish editing it, or it'll be time for next years. Le Mans trailer There's a link to the year before's one in there too.

    New Fan

You can't get something for nothing, if you use an electric fan all that will happen is that the alternator will cause more load on the engine, and probably more than you gain by not having the viscous fan.
  12. I think on the Ultimate it uses the injector adjustment when you use the injector size feature, not the airflow adjustment like the blue used to.
  13. Oh ok, cool. Think Auto who make all the fittings say PTFE tape can be used, so that's good enough for me! I've disassembled a few that I sealed with PTFE and it was fine after a year of use, maybe it's something specific to hydraulic oil?
  14. Looks like you didn't use PTFE tape on the NPT thread there. You need PTFE tape on NPT fittings as they seal by the thread deforming when you tighten it and without you can get oil working its way round the thread and out.
  15. I've just been watching Le Mans - In The Lap of the Gods. It's basically a documentary type thing following Martin Short at Le Mans this year with his new Radical LMP2 prototype. It’s in two parts, the first is basically Shorty and the guys trying to prep the car before the race, lots of interviews and some safety gumph. Interesting to see the team hq (such as it is!), feels a bit like it’s been stuck in to fill the DVD though. The second part is at Le Mans, and is great. It’s a bit like being sat in Shorty’s pit for the race, you see the mechanics rushing around in the garage to fix it when it had the coolant problem during Shorty’s first stint, and later when they had to change the clutch, team radio and some quality in car footage. Part of the extras is the complete first lap in-car. http://www.lemansgods.com
  16. This whole thread I find quite bizarre. Why anyone would come on here, post a load of rubbish, insult their customer and then insist they call you to sort out something I can't figure out. It's basic customer service surely, to say "sorry about that I'll sort it out" even if it's not your fault? Customer is always right and all that. It's got to be the worst PR since the whole Thor debacle. If you go round threatening legal action it's surely not that surprising that people insist on written communications.
  17. And that's your first post. Convenient. Personally as they have threatened the club with legal action instead of resolving complaints in a professional manner I wouldn't touch them with someone else's barge pole.
  18. You need some sealant at the front where they meet the bearing cap, as in this pic...
  19. http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/core/media/media.nl?id=41&c=317638&h=16c696d4b9f1bee697a7&resizeid=-2&resizeh=400&resizew=400 I have a Sealey electronic stethoscope kit for sale. It has two parts, the first is a box with a test probe with a rubber cone. The supplied headphones plug into that and it works as an electronic stethoscope - ideal for finding faults with injectors and the like. The second bit is another box that the headphones plug into along with 4 clip on microphones - it has a four-way selector that lets you select each input. This allows you to clip the mics on and drive the car and listen. Apparently useful to isolate rattles etc, but it's main use is as det cans to detect detenation while mapping. This kit costs £140 new (see here) and has only been used a couple of times. £90.

  21. No, that's about right. The ECU runs it at low voltage when at low revs/boost and then switches to 12v when needed.
  22. It only runs the fuel pump when cranking, not just with the ignition on, that's normal. It should only take a couple of seconds to reach normal fuel perssure from unpressurised. If you want to check the pump is running, join up the FP and +B terminals on the diagnostics port under the bonnet (by the dipstick) and turn the ignition on - that will run the pump continuously. EDIT - to say that it also runs the pump briefly after you key off I believe, but not with the ignition on.
  23. I have used a company in the US for this sort of thing, they are excellent. I've used them a couple of times and my order's been there in 3 days or less. They have loads of flexi-joins and pipe sections too. www.verociousmotorsports.com
