  1. It's a CD image, you need to burn it to a CD using Nero or another CD burning program or use a tool like daemon tools which makes it appear as another drive letter like you burnt it to a CD and then put it in a CD drive.
  2. That's because it's BOVs or compressor stall that makes that noise, not the wastegate. Wastegates don't make a noise - they only open when full boost has been reached to get rid of excess exhaust, so can only make a noise then. It's got to be one of the oldest and most annoying myths so called "wastegate chatter". There's no such thing.
  3. Actually yes, because normally the ECU doesn't run the fuel pump until you crank the engine - it doesn't run it just on ignition on. The fuel pump ECU has a 12V supply which is on when the ignition is, a wire from the ECU which it sets to 12V or 9V but only when the engine is cranking or running and an output to the pump. Sounds like your 12v mod was to join the 12V supply to the pump output. That will make your pump see 12v all the time the ignition is on. Not a great idea, as it will keep running the pump even if you're upside down in a ditch and the engine has stopped!
  4. Could be I guess. Bridging the diagnostic port runs them at 12V whereas the ECU might use 9V when cranking. I thought it used 12V while cranking but I can't remember now. Not sure what you could have done that would make them not work at 9V though!
  5. It sounds like a version of the motoman break-in technique which has been doing the rounds of forums for a while. Even he doesn't suggest holding it at max rpm straight after starting though, that's just bollocks, and that stuff about the cams and followers looks like bull to me. If that was true you'd have to run in you engine every time you changed cams! Here is the link to the original motoman article, which talks about running in using increasing load (only after the engine is warmed up though, and not just holding at max rpm) to bed the rings in properly. Thing is, he's talking about 2 stroke bikes not cars.http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm And here is one from a magazine who looked into it. http://www.motortrend.com/features/editorial/112_0603_technologue_race_performance
  6. None here, just rain. Bright sunshine now, better watch out for my sneeze reflex...
  7. Of course it's a scam. Why would anyone give money away to people that haven't even entered? If you reply they'll have the details you send, and no doubt would then want your bank details. Or want to charge you an "admin" fee to release the winnings.
  8. Maybe we should get Mawby to set up a sub-forum for photic sneeze reflexers only. We can discuss sneeze related issues, support each other dealing with predjudice from non-sneezers, reviews of sunglasses and multimedia clips of the sneeze of the day, that kind of thing...
  9. The 5speed is only available on NAs, and the increase in power you can get on one is pretty limited anyway, so it's a bit irrelavent really. Unless you go NA-T (stick a turbo on) but you're better off just starting with a TT in that case.
  10. I bet you're just jealous because you are one of the inferior unevolved non-sneezers...
  11. We were talking about this at work the other day, I get this, and so does the other guy in my office. If I go outside and it's really bright sunlight I sneeze. People either think I'm nuts or have the same thing!
  12. Well, we'll find out! Don't see why not.
  13. Garrett GT35R, soon to be T67DBB on an Arnout mani, Motec M600 ECU.
  14. Sorry, missed your last post! Let's see, what's happened since I last posted... Well, I had some real problems with the Emanage ultimate, I posted up a thread about it but something was wrong with it or the injector adaptor or something. I needed to swap it with someone else's or something to see what was up but I couldn't really do too many diagnostics as I need the car to get to work! So in the end I decided the best thing was to go for a standalone ECU based on future plans etc. So, I went for a Motec M600, had it installed and mapped at Owens, where it made 550bhp at 1.4BAR on their rollers. Setting the ignition timing correctly has made a huge difference, it feels superb. Not cheap though! I've got a couple of problems though, first I'm getting compressor surge in high gears and mid revs. It needs the compressor housing ported really. Second I'm getting some smoke on full boost, from burning oil. I think it's either the oil seal on the turbo, or possibly an oil control ring or something. Pretty sure the breathers and oil lines are ok. Anyway, I've decided to go for a slightly bigger turbo, so I've bought a T67DBB from Qaisar. I also snapped up Martin's built block and head, so I'll be swapping the engine, running it in and then switching turbo and getting it mapped at higher boost/revs.
  15. It's got Jspec headlights then by the looks... http://www.maxspeedengineering.co.uk/toyota%20image%20copy.JPG

    Special screws

LOL! That's exactly what I was about to post!

    Open Pitlane

I've done an open pitlane evening there, it's brilliant. Loads of run off, bit boring through the complex at the end of the lap but copse corner and the stretch down to stowe is just fantastic.

It's not only the car but you that needs cooling off, best to have a break to keep your concentration up. I reckon 20-25 minutes or so at a time is about right. You will run out of fuel before 3 hours is up, it's easy to not notice and run out of fuel, which would be highly embarassing...
  19. Website, Admin and Database experience, experience of the legal process particularly libel and slander law would be an advantage...
  20. I should be as I've been a member for donkeys years. But I'm happy to pay my tenner a year to support the club even though strictly I don't have to.
  21. Plus HD-DVD is not a patch on blu-ray. Think of it as a cheap blu-ray player with a console thrown in... If you can't tell the difference between hi def TV and normal you need your eyes tested, there is no comparison. Of course you need to be watching an HD channel that actually has HD programmes on, half of what's shown on the HD channels is just normal def. Blu-ray will be much better again than sky HD too, just as a good DVD player looks much better than normal Sky.
  22. I've seen this a lot, but 42psi is NOT the stock fuel pressure. The manual says it should be between 33-40psi. So more like 36psi.
  23. Yeah, they were heavily critisised by quite a few reviews I read saying they had no feel at all. Might be down to the fancy electronics the SLR has controlling them though.
  24. Behind there is the interior air temperature sensor that the heating/air con uses.
