  1. Ooo, not fair! I've been added already. Guess I'll just have to add a useless post instead...
  2. The car ones are dry powder. They work by smothering the fire. If you don't fling the bonnet open they are very effective as the fire is in an enclosed space.
  3. Yep, always carry one. It lives on my harness bar just behind me.
  4. I've never seen a compressor map for any precision turbos, or from Boostlogic. For some daft reason they treat them as confidential and won't release them as far as I know.
  5. The GT35R ones are on the Garrett website. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT35/GT3582R_714568_3.htm
  6. Doubt if it's the O2 sensor - it doesn't get used on cold starts until everything has warmed up because the engine needs to run richer than normal when cold and the sensor doesn't work when cold.
  7. 13 or 14 isn't lean. 14.7 is the ideal for economy, efficiency etc. You just need richer than that to avoid det when in boost and high rpms. The standard ECU will try and maintain 14.7 when under 4000rpm IIRC. So that sounds fine. 10.5 is pretty rich though, I'd avoid running it too much where it's that rich. Too rich for too long can cause bore wash where the oil stops working properly and causes cylinder bore glazing. Not that likely at 10.5 but I wouldn't want to risk it too much.
  8. They have some very big speed bumps, but they are also very wide, so are not as much of a problem as you think to start with.
  9. If you mean the pipes in front of the rad then that's the power steering cooler. The FMIC kit should have come with a U shaped tube replacement and some rubber hose to connect it up.
  10. Rosie should have a copy of the big hi-res one with no people in the way as it went into the calendar.
  11. How the hell do you manage to bend 22 valves all at once! What a bunch of muppets!
  12. That one got me last time I was down there, knocked the plug out of my wideband under the car.
  13. I won't be there as it's a friend's birthday, but with a bit of luck my sparkly new engine might! So you can all admire it.
  14. Pretty similar actually, one's a daft looking stuffed puppet that only squeeks, the other is a gopher...
  15. Ha! You can't beat my claim to fame. I have Gordon the gopher's autograph from when I appeared on Going Live about 16 years ago, playing the trombone...

    DHL Help

Yeah, that's normal with DHL, they take ages to bill you for some reason. The present thing doesn't work by the way, the max value of goods you can count as a present is £36 IIRC vs £18 if it's not a present. Any more than that and you should get charged import duty & VAT. Plus it has to come from a non-company address. It's just that Parcelforce get used for normal surface mail packages which don't get checked as much as courier ones by customs, so you sometimes get away without paying for those.
  17. Sorry, didn't mean to say it's not a serious condition, trust me I'm well aware of that and the possible complications! However, it can be sucessfully controlled - it's not easy, but possible, and people that are diagnosed with it need to know that if you take care it's not a foregone conclusion. I have type I diabetes, and if I had a quid for every time someone tells me it's because I ate too many sweets as a kid I'd be a rich man...
  18. Then you should know that type I diabetes has nothing whatever to do with exercise or diet or lack thereof. Type II is a different matter. Sorry, but I get irritated by people lumping them in togther, and don't really need any reminder that I have a killer condition thanks Besides, long term diabetic problems are caused by long term poor control of blood sugar levels, which can be avoided with the correct discipline, monitoring and control.
  19. Yeah, fair point, didn't notice the times. I guess they can't find any socially skilled members...
  20. It was a twatish thing to say, but it was only 1 guy over there being a knob. We've got a few over here too!
  21. I had one of those brackets. It's not for the E01 specifically, it's for mobiles etc. I got it from a place called Dashmount www.dashmount.co.uk.
  22. This is the one I use... http://www.simonb.org/images/IMG_0179BG.jpg
  23. Yep. You might get the trac warning light on, can't remember now. If so just take the bulb out.
  24. It's on their website somewhere. Here you go: Basically it's not a great idea having unburnt fuel dumped into the exhaust, it could cause bore wash and is going to backfire. I think it's also probably more complex to make the electronics for. They do make a adaptor thingy that converts it to use spark cut if you can't use fuel cut if you don't have electronic fuel injection.
