  1. LOL thanks, I was just being a pouting premadonna for sh*ts n giggles - I don't mind waiting a little while - got a feeling she will be off the road now till way after Christmas

One or two But I guess this doesn't apply to me as I am not English :D I saw the Forth rail bridge, Edinburgh Castle (plus the surrounding area), Loch Ness (and is that the Lodge?) - erm.. dunno, only visited Scotland the once edit: was that supposed to be the Flying Scotsman too?
  3. Is this an official list? Nice to have been omitted from the top
  4. Interested in a throttle body as well. How about the water injection system also?
  5. Had the Supe wrenched out of my control on the way back from Wales on more than one occasion on the English side of the Bridge, scary as fook! Must have found yourself riding a good inch higher in your seat with a Rorschach style butterfly stained undergarment! I know I would have been! Bloody good to hear you are ok.
  6. Which magazine is that? I am hoping for a photoshop tbh! Did they say it was a cool extreme thing to doin the article?!?! Jees. Well it is horses for courses... then again that particular horse needs shooting.
  7. Yeah petrol stations are a life line for those of us that have needs between the hours of 4pm Sunday afternoon and 8am Monday morning - I don't like Sunday trading hours, really annoying. My local Total garage is 24hours... real 24 hours, not like that Fake 24 hours that ASDA do
  8. I too was curious to your source on this - AFAIK - nobody has been let off the hook as yet? (even if people have been released). There were some serious searches going on around the area but a few days ago?? I thought evidence of explosives being tested on nearby wasteland had been uncovered - although who knows if this is to do with the case, could be unrelated. Not saying you are wrong - I just like to keep informed and want your source now now now (gets out hot lamp - ve vill make yoo talk).
  9. Heh, she certainly gives me "semi" interest too Sweet sounds great, glad you enjoyed it amigo. One of those acts that I would consider seeing if they came my way of the world (we get a few festivals here but I am normally out of the frickin country when they are on!).
  10. And herein is the biggest arse ache to solve! You can get multi megapixel cameras these days that seem to come in at bargain basement prices - price of CCD's has plummeted over the past 3 years - so every manufacturer and his son is making them with uber pixels! It is a bastard to get a camera kit on the cheap that will take photos QUICKLY with a decent quality! You are usually looking at getitng a digital SLR kit for this type of deal - and that means £350+ for good kit :( - that being said, most of the Canon IXUS series are ok (if not a tiny bit overpriced when they first come out) - but even those are laggy when attempting to take good quality photos. Apologies, no real *decent* info in this post, just my experience to date - and I hope someone can put me right.
  11. I only wish I had more I could add here, I personally simply don't know enough tech info/enough people to assist - wish I did. Sounds awesome though amigo. I just remember the pickup of the Prius I test drove - amazing unexpected pick up off the line, then the petrol motoro kicked in on top of that seemed like an awesome config in a straight line (handling around corners at even low speeds was a bag of horse shite though- but that is the shitey family prius setup). What is the target vehicle, or is that currently a closely guarded secret?
  12. Is anyone breaking those skanky hybrids yet? Prius and the like? They may be a good source of pimp automotive leccy drive motors as well - but I see where you are coming from on this. TORQUE++++++.
  13. Context sensitive: If talkign to brit: FILL-IT! If talking to french waiter: FILL-AY! (or EY - whatevah this is phonetic!!) Northern (or in fact any other fish dude) fishmonger: FISH! (assuming we are talking sea food)
  14. That is a bloody good question - I am not sure off the top of my head if there is a specific - religion'ist type of term -the closest we tend to come in normal usage of descriptive terms is sectarianism: See: Sectarianism Quoting: Sectarianism refers (usually pejoratively) to a rigid adherence to a particular sect or party or denomination. It often implies discrimination, denunciation, or violence against those outside the sect. And yes - I believe the whole covering of the woman idea is man based (then again all of the "holy" books are written by men, but that is something for a WHOLE different theological debate), not religion based - I read it somewhere and saw some woman giving some chap a bloody good hiding over it on the net somewhere - if I can find it I will link it. Racism is a nasty term that *is* being used way too much in a slightly wrong way. Islam is the main target here that tends to be discussed, and afaik it isn't just a religion but a way of life that people adhere to (just like being a Buddhist etc - not quite a religion just a way of thinking - Islamic ideas I do not agree with but *TOLERATE* - as any human being should) - hence they do not exclude other cultures from joiniing Islam - in fact I believe Islamic folk EMBRACE anyone into their culture. Not saying it is the right way to go, and I obviously am not Islamic/Muslim - a tad on the "atheist so prove it I am a scientist" - bench. I wish people could just get along. I dislike weird rules that make no logical sense - and would never go along with them willingly. I accept peoples rights to follow said weird rules though, as long as they do not hurt me, my friends, and people around me - and anybody that doesn't believe in those rules. Play nice people, is it too much to ask?
  15. I noticed an insane jump from the way people drive in my original home town of Cardiff, to how they drive in Reading - and lets not go near bloody London... holy hot **** what abunch of nasty mofos on the road some people can be. Being in Reading for the past 7/8 years I have become accustoemd to some of the less sane methods of motoring - and of course have had to adopt/adapt/survive, and as such appear to frighten the bejesus out of my family and any others when I go back home... If I drove like a chap from Cardiff around reading - I would get NOWHERE in the rush hour lol.
  16. I have no idea where schools stand on things such as balaclavas but I always remember a school uniform code in my school - which they are always fussy about. Also beign a specific Christian church school - items of cultural/religious signifigance didn't factor in to daily life (apart from the odd St. Christopher chain and possibly crucifix chain around peoples necks that you never actually saw), as there are no obvious outstanding specific icons/items of clothing that pertain to the religion that people are expected to wear for the Christian religion. I remember the school uniform policy had to adjust slightly when the school started to admit children from cultures other than Christian backgrounds (I don't want to start any debate about that - it caused chaos back in the day when I was of school age considering how much a PITA it was to actually get into my school as you had to be Christened and Confirmed when I was entering the school system - but change is CHANGE, and we change or we eventually become extinct - human race rocks for its ability to adapt - isn't this adaptation?). If you had a legitimate religious reason for sending your kids to school with balaclavas mate - I for one would not utter a word against you or your beliefs to do so :D (I might think it a tad weird - and feel sorry for the abuse your kids may receive, but thats by the by). Is it actually racist to ask a Muslim woman to remove her head gear for identity purposes? It is reminiscent of being a motorcyclists hopping off his bike and wandering intot he bank (forgetting he has his helmet on) being asked nicely to remove it? Does anybody know anything about these interactions - I have NEVER seen a woman in full head gear IN a bank (although I have to admit I don't spend my life in said establishments) - although my other half used to work in one for many years and has no recall of having to ask anyone this question (other than the odd forgetful motorcyclist). Erm, wish I knew the answers.
  17. Heheh, rocking. I always take my iPAQ HX4700 with me on holiday just in case I can snarf some airport or other free wifi access point - so am totally with you there bud. Doing so from your PSP does indeed add a certain amount of kudos to the point... telling us about the location and henceforth the actvity we can assume you were undertaking at the time... not sure - I guess you are a natural exhibitionist :D Cheers Amigo :D
  18. If you walked into a bank or building society, damned straight they will ask you politely to remove any facial coverings - it kinda makes them twitchy Security reasons... has been that way since I remember. Also, airport security tend to have issues with covering your face when a visual identity has to be established against a passport photo.
  19. They do have a lrage portion of the desktop audience, but the back end you may find is not so homogenously M$. I have found with quite a few solutions I have had to assess for customers that their solution is quite widely spread across many platforms and standards (oh joy). For example: MySQL married with MSSQL load balanced off an Apache based server (load balanced and served up using a Resin solution) both on Linux boxes talking to an Win 2k server and Win2k3 server - with php on the linux boxes served through Apache (now you know thats gonna hurt). A right mix of standards/philosphies - you just have to be able to abstract and adapt I don't fear any one solution - I like to tackle these challenges I also find good and bad in all areas of the industry with various solutions - but make do with what I see with the inability/time/resource to fix issues myself.

    Its not funny

I know where you are coming from - but my first thought as a person that come across this, with the current state of play with how our world seems to work - Assess situation, how urgent is my help needed - assist as necessary. Life threatening? No? Possible legal issues - YES! Take a photo FIRST - then go help. The guy that took the photo may have had all the best intentions of providing evidence to council/legal representatives on behalf of the victim in this case, and would happily produce such evidence on any claims that may arise from this unfortunate incident. When it finally turned out that the situation was in fact comedic and the woman was ok - I guess he felt it right to share with the rest of us (or someone he found confidence in shared it witht he rest of us ) - I cannot judge, but I do admit - the image is mildly comedic
  21. You have a point... Macs are *so IN* at the moment. With their must have stuff.. I mean - crikey - I keep yearning for one ... but I won't dis MS simply for their past failures - they *DO* produce some good stuff. I like a lot of their products to be honest. It is just the whole way they market themselves is comedic on times Thats me coming from a unix/vms(puke)/linux professional background originally and moving into MS with a bit of trepidation a few years ago...
  22. I love women.. they are great in all shapes and forms.. (no that isn't an insult rofl) - I may complain from time to time about various traits, but I wouldn't be without my better half. I haven't come across this particular woman - not on my usual schedule I guess - but she look s good to me. I was watching Nigella Lawson earlier on Jonathan Ross, and thinking to myself WOW 46 and looks effing fantastic! Your standards do not change as you age as such, but your appreciation of women definately expands... well mine does!... and thats not the only thing (oh god I just ruined my woman cred with that last statement)
