  2. Ian, you pull the fascia out and then turn it up from the bottom. As if it's doing a backflip up onto the top of the dash. and then... ...assembly is a reversal of the removal process.
  3. Thats it exactly, disconnect the pipe that exits the side of the reservoir. use lots of towels, sheets cos it sprays bl00dy everywhere if you don't watch out.

    cos the outside of the fan weighs more when it's spinning round. maybe I bet you all have to think about that before you dismiss it, I did and I just made it up.

    What about total removal of air-con? I know it cuts out at WOT, but there must be a weight saving, and one less pulley to be driven.

    1. Induction kit 2. Decat pipes and exhaust 3. Head polish/port/flow whatever 4. Cams 5. ECU then you've got Nitrous, or you could try and up the revs and custom build some lightweight pistons, (big money and very risky path) General car lightening inc propshaft/flywheel, light alloys, internal strip out (probably only relevant to a track only car though)

    What cams were they, and was the ECU the TOMS one mentioned earlier in the thread? Blimey, this thread is running, I think it's the first decent thread about NAs where people haven't just given up at "Buy a TT instead"

    I'll have to get mine dyno'd again. It was 223/183 BHP with just an HKS induction kit, which in a RR dyno shed would sap some power (I believe, due to no air flow on static car), but I've now got De-catted HKS Hiper as well, so those mods would represent a BPU NA. I suppose that lot would be £600 worth. Mos' camshaft was £250 ish IIRC for 15 BHP.

    Neither did I, but she said she gone dun it, and since I slagged her car for being pink, I ain't going to start calling her a liar as well. Remember Mos, he had an intake cam designed and fitted on his N/A, it gave him an extra 15BHP.

  13. Well, its been a long winter. It would be a waste to get Nick to polish the manifold only for me to stick it back in that filthy bay. I had some pikies living in there and they've only just moved on ready for the carnival season.
  14. Nick, I seriously desire a good head polishing from you. I'll have to wait for a bit of Supra "down time" though. Faye, are those the standard rubber pipes but in a silver colour, or are they metal tubes (or Paul?) cos my bay needs a bit more shinyness.
  15. You need to reach under the car from the passenger side, where there is a little rubber bootee on the side of the gearbox. It has a square hole in it. Spray some grease in there and the squeaking will stop... ...for a few months
  16. Logic Option 3 gives a BEEP for cameras on your side, and a CROAK for cameras on t'other side, relevant to Gatsos and Truvelos.

  20. Print this off so you don't forget which way it goes on. Pretty easy job really, just got to get it round the fan. Use a big spanner or socket to lever down the tensioner.
  21. I think it was. It's too much money to get proper power increases out of an NA. Mos had an intake cam made up for him (NA), but it gave 10-15 BHP for a lot of time and money. I'm quiote dubious about that dyno run of mine, cos I think they were angling for some "tune-up work"

  24. Your brother doesn't want you to buy a car that will blow him off the road. There's always loads of bad advice around. When I bought my NA someone told me not to buy Supras cos "turbos always blow, and they've got two, so it'll cost you twice as much" Unfortunately, I listened to him, and bought an NA.
