  1. Thats coca cola again isn't it? Either that or a fertilizer bomb.
  2. Yeah, but I'm talking Land Rover clutch pedal box here.
  3. Anyone know the name of that stuff you bathe rusty bolts in, and it cleans them up after a day of two?
  4. Don't forget the other fantastic reason for keeping the tolls at the Dartford Crossing, as published in the local papers. If they abolish the £1 toll, all the people who go through Blackwall and Rotherhithe will use the Dartford Crossing instead. Thats a cracker. :baa:
  5. Just cos the copper had a gun, doesn't mean he was firing it at the time you drove past though. I've tried to set my S6-R off using a laser surveying tool, and didn't get a peep, but once while waiting at a junction near a building site, a similar surveying laser set it off.
  6. My pulley sheared off as I entered a roundabout on a dual carriageway, causing the power steering to fail, and the steering to "stiffen" considerably. It was a lively few moments, and I coasted into work just as the coolant boiled over. This happened a week after a Toyota cambelt change, so it was deffo heat damage in my case.
  7. Then you need to get an anorexic girl to put her hand thru the fog lamp bulb hole and polish the glass from the inside.

    Slow water leak

Most of the water in the under tray appears to be around the air con pump area on the RH side. Odd though, just drove to Toyota to get some coolant, after putting a bit of water in, and the temp rose while sitting in very slow traffic, but then as it got to the red line it dropped suddenly. Did it again on the way home as well.
  9. Further to my post about the pipe rattling about at the rear of the engine bay, it transpires my expansion tank is empty and there is water all around the undertray, which I though was due to wet weather. Obviously, something is leaking somewhere but if I just want to top up until I get car into a garage, is there just one type of Toyota coolant (the red stuff) or will it be a special order?

    Wax Flower ...

..and it has dirty ladies in it, innit.
  11. ARRRGGGGHHHH!!!! TURN THAT RADIO DOWN!
  12. If you just want bog standard, either Chris Wilson or Mr Toyota
  13. Its been a while since it was changed.
  14. ...turns out to be this pipe here, at the rear of the engine (NA) bucking and jumping about on its own. The engine had only been running a short while, and the pipe was very hot. There was a drip of oil or possibly coolant(brown) on the top the engine block, near where the breather pipe is Why's it doing that then? Temp gauge was below halfway all the time.

    Fuel???

How much better is "much better"?
  16. Probably asked you this before, but I'll be having the car off the road for a week, whilst I get wheels refurbed. How much to do a NA intake manifold and throttle body polish? Do you do the inside as well?
  17. Notwithstanding CWs informed comments, that's as cool as feck, how much?
  18. It would be good practice to bleed brakes whenever you do any work to them.
  19. I think you should bleed them, to make sure there are no air bubbles in there.
  20. At the risk of stating the obvious, couldn't you just clean the seats "in-car"? and what's Faye using, seat-wise. now you've whipped the seats out of her car?
  21. I did have this on my old celica, and it turned out to be a loose hub-nut, a castle nut on the celica.
  22. I sometimes get a knocking if I pull away in second gear at too low revs, but never when the engine is switched off. It could be a Japanese mechanic who has been welded into the bodyshell during manufacture, a bit like the SS Great Britain myth. These guys are quite small.
  23. I think, from memory only, 2.5 inch should fit, but it depends on the flange size of course and the hole spacing. Only offering it up will tell.
  24. You'll need to do a few MASSIVE stops to bed them in. How long since you last changed the fluid?
