  1. Somewhere on this site is a "standard letter", written (I think) by Ashley to present to any complaining neighbours. I'm sure someone with a better memory than me can dig it out.

    Got one at last

I've been in Darryl's old supe years ago, and it was pretty mental then. As others have said, be careful, we've already had one new owner bin his this week. There's a RS owners track day at Croft on Sept 5, for £85. I might go, if I can persuade the wife. See you there?

    Cool or not?

So thats once every two years then?

    Cool or not?

I've just been to see a guy tonight about getting my stock wheels refurbed. I asked about getting them polished and he said the laquer would fail quickly, and I'd have to keep polishing them. Is this true?

    Newbie

Welcome to another NA owner. My NA was "slammed" to the deck when I bought it, definitely a car-park racer with extreme negative camber. Whip it on a RR dyno to see if anythings been done to the cams.

    Back from TOTB3

AH, that wasn't it then, there was a smaller black dog sniffing at our two Papillons, which was the only other dog we saw. When you mentioned your dog, I thought we might have inadvertantly met another supra owner, but I only met Branners, Christian and Paul Laing. If its going to be as big or bigger next year, they definitely need temp grandstands and proper results screens because there was very little to see.

This dog, Nikita, was it black?
  8. I tried looking for all you Dartford guys, but couldn't find you.
  9. I was there for an hour or two. This piccie here is Dude just about to beat the CRD supra. He's laid on some dry ice in a 70's Top of the Pops style, and in the foreground a skinhead is breaking wind and parting his cheeks to amplify the sound.
  10. Feel free to talk amongst yourself.
  11. Its only a fire blanket in that it has fibre insulation sandwiched in it. A certain ex-member was claiming the quilt gave off a fire surpressing gas when heated to a certain point and that the plastic clips would drop the quilt onto the engine. Presumably these people who cut in vents, like Mandy, have to remove it.
  12. I've driven my NA in thick snow and as others have said it's quite tricky and you have to be so delicate with your right foot. I had trouble getting out of my doctors car park because of the slightest of inclines. Worth having a play in the snow though, as long as you can get home again.
  13. Yes please, I'll post you a cheque with address details, £12, and how much for postage?
  14. Well, I've got no cats and no problems. Felt a slight increase in performance but have got used to it now. Oh and Chris W. I've not paid for anything but you were going to give me a price for a pair of HKS gaskets for the mid pipe section.
  15. If you gutted the cats, wouldn't the now empty chamber have an odd stalling effect on the flow of exhaust gases?
  16. Hang on a minute Mr Wilson, didn't I ask you over 6 months ago for some HKS gaskets for your de-cat pipes? Where are they? Blimey, you wanna spend less time sniping foxes. About 1/2 hour to 1 hour to jack up and swap over the 2nd cat. Only four bolts to deal with.
  17. Whats he doing back here, Keith??? remove this interloper. I think you'll find you were driving a 200SX weren't you?
  18. I like these threads. Lots of juicy info.

    Slow water leak

Update. Toyota pressure tested the rad and no leaks appeared, but they told me the power steering pump was leaking. I don't know if he was offering that as a solution to my dropping coolant level, if he was, he's an idiot. And 8.3km on the clock for a test drive for a minor service, seems a bit long to me. Still £158 is a better price than I used to pay down south.

    Tyre Wear

It was about 30000 miles on my company expense sheet, which to all intents and purposes included all my milage, but I did spend the entire time driving like a maniac.

    Tyre Wear

I've just been tidying up all my various car documents, receipts etc, and I've worked out in the year May 03 to May 05 I purchased tyres for the Supra on FOUR, yes count em, that's FOUR separate occasions. Three sets for the rear and one for the front. Blimey.
  22. Perhaps you should try braking a bit later then, say at 50mph when you're 25metres from the stationary car in front. On my wifes workbus, (megane scenic) the Renault dealer told her her discs were corroded and needed replacing, cos of a bit of surface rust. Luckily she phoned me up and I told her to not change them. Bit of a shame really, cos she crashed into the back of a Morris Oxford on the way home and broke her pelvis. Now it takes her all day to mow the lawn. Not really, I was joking about the crash bit.

    RAC inspection

I had an RAC inspection when I bought mine, he never picked up that it was extremely lowered, and that it bump steered. The report he gave me basically said " Weeeeeeeeeeee, Vrroooooommm, vroom."
