  1. Last bump before I either ebay them or keep them for myself (and risk the wrath of the bank manager at the same time)
  2. I think all owners should need to apply for a license and the issueing of said license should be dependent on the results from IQ and Common Sense tests; thus ensuring that particularly stupid people can't own, look after, nor care for dogs. Problem solved. I should be a politician.

    help !!!!

Take the dials apart, remove the needle, drive along with GPS telling you your speed and then replace the needle at roughly the right speed. Or get someone to replace the needle for you, which is probably safer. Or just leave it as it is, and be glad that you have less chance of being caught for speeding!
  4. Just in case anyone needs these in the future, they are a 1/8 BSPT / BSPP thread
  5. imho you'd be better off ebaying htme
  6. Pneumoni, no offence but I think you should refrain from posting anymore of your views regarding dogs, as to anyone who owns them and / or knows them, you are coming across as an uninformed extremist. Personally, I love Staffies and would have one tomorrow if either myself or my wife were at home more. Instead I have to settle for playing with the neighbours' staffy, Harly. She's easily one of the most affectionate dogs I've ever met, but is so protective of the kids she tries to follow them to school in the mornings!
  7. Possibly not ceramics then! I'd look at checking / replacing the EGBV and EGCV vacuum lines if you haven't already.
  8. Sounds exactly like mine, and I'm 99% certain no. 2 has lunched the ceramics I've checked all the VSVs and actuator valves, all actuators running smoothly, all vacuum lines replaced, and everything is fine. Only way I'm gonna find out is to take off the 1st cat this weekend
  9. You could write the first "how-to" guide where the tools are a sledge-hammer and a crowbar!
  10. New plugs (all of them) New fuel filter New or nearly new set of coilpacks New fuel pump (if yours is still standard and you are planning mods in the future, you may as well. I changed mine [Walbro] with the coil packs so it was one of the two that was causing the hesitation) Check vaccum tubing to pressure tank That should get you closer to the reasons or perhaps even fix them.
  11. Christ on a bike, it really does sound a horrible job! If I stripped my dash off for that, it'd be rude not to have it retrimmed at the same time
  12. Easy enough to do yourself, if you have a decent socket set
  13. Why?! While you're there, you may want to check / clean out your heater matrix Preventative maintenance kinda thing
  14. Sorry about Mac, Jake. My two dogs were cremated much the same way - we buried them in the garden with a few of their toys about a year ago, and planted apple trees on top. Must say, the apples this year were fantastic!
  15. Hesitation whenthe 2nd turbo comes online? I had the same and it was my coil-packs on the way out. Mine was more of a stuttering though. I'd also recommend you check the pressure tank and connections to / from it.
  16. As long as the stud isn't too short to fit another bolt on
  17. Could you not remove the studs (Torx socket iirc) and use some slightly shorter ones / grind the ends down? I imagine it'd be a bit of a bastid to do, though. Haven't had the joy of removing my manifold yet! I would be dubious about grinding the torx head down in case you want to remove or tighten them in the future.

    Battery Drain

What condition is your battery in? Have you measured voltage whilst a.) engine & iginition off, b.) engine running, c.) whilst cranking the engine? Should highlight a dodgy battery which is more likely to be the case.
  19. Get yourself a Carbing mate, they are lovely bits of kit. Obviously work too, as when mines on if i jack up one side of the car at the front, it lifts the other side too!
  20. Tried the 5-minute TTC mod today (which seemed to make the exhaust embarassingly loud as well!). Given that the car was hitting 5k rpm and struggling to get to 80 I'd say it's certain that no. 2 is a goner. I'm not also pretty sure that the fluttering / tinkling sound I can hear is bits of ceramic stuck in the exhaust system (no 1st decat) On a positive note, hoping to pick up a 2nd hand set of turbos this weekend (thanks to Andyhannah )
  21. You need to compress the spring, then the platform just moves either up or down to your desired height; it's got three setting for 15mm, 25mm, or 35mm drop.
