  3. I use an exxide Maxxima 900DC, deep cycle gel battery..
  4. He offered it to jim_supra, when he had to replace his engine, apparently.
  5. Thanks for the compliment, if I may be as bold as to take it as that! Lucifer @ MKIVStore have a rebuilt engine that is 300bhp at the fly, completely NA, he wants about £4000 for it. Regarding the ITB's I would love to do that, rather than what I have. Can yu imagine 6 mikuni's from a Kawasaki, or similar. Remaining NA is a very attractive option, if not a little expensive, the only thing I dont like about Turbo option, is the loss of the sound my car makes, people have commented on how good it sounds with the combination of the XERD Header, Blitz NUR and the DaveH Intake...
  6. Dude, I messaged him 3 days ago and not heard anything back, I want to spend some money! He is a very busy fella, he will be probably buying all sorts of goodies for us, to buy off him. Give him a call at MKIVStore, he is always good to chat to...
  7. Think I best come and have a look at this car!
  8. Has the car any MOT or TAX? I might be interested...
  9. Agreed! That is what normally happens, bolts are not prepared for large torsional forces and can crack.
  10. I did use the OE fasteners.... All I want is some intact covers!
  11. b'have has just meesage me! message replied to
  12. Err, as the title says need some cam covers for my NA, would prefer TT pre-vvti ones if possible. Anyone got some? ?????? ???? ?? ?
  13. Well I am biased but I would agree with you, I am not arguing with anyone, but I am a chemist, I have some knowlege of metalurgy and know the problems you can have with alloys..... The bolts have a rubber washer and steel washer built in and I know that this would distort before the cam cover was seated to hard and break....
  14. Yeah but the thing is flat on top of the cylinder head, so I cannot see how that would happen... Besides a rubber gasket nips up the gap...
  15. I agree with the no welding business, that was not my initial idea, but it was suggested to me by the seller. Here are the pics for you, I have pulled up the cover to get a picture... Very unhappy, on holiday cannot use the car
  16. Them street dancers in the peugeot article were awesome!
  17. Now I am stuck any suggestions as to what i should do?
  18. I destroyed several sockets getting my old wheel nuts off, hammered a socket on and use a breaker bar to get them off!
  19. They were the polished ones and I only nipped the bolts up, Jim_supra will verify that I only nip them up to engage the rubber gasket. The cam cover had some holes in it, for the cover, that had been filled and polished, aparently with a welder? I bought them off someone who is reputable off here!
