  1. Bumpety bump! come on guys somebody must want a UK style bonnet?
  2. contact jim_supra, he has just swapped his... He might have a few tips for you....
  3. Get a nice pre-facelift, NA and have the money to spend on the upgrade parts, etc. Oh I think a lot of people say that 19" wheels are a bit big for the sup and ruin the handling?
  4. The kickdown on NA's is controlled by a cable going to the gearbox, it moves at the same rate as the accelerator cable, hence when you stamp on the pedal it kicks down for you. TT's have some sort of electronic trickery controlling it. When I fitted a new throttle body, I had a right job fitting the kickdown cable on and to make it work. Arsebiscuits
  5. I got all excited in an Ed Way, thinking this thread was going to have pictures of scantily clad ladies, enjoying the hot weather on thier dinner break.... I have just come back from a vigorous session on my bike, enjoyed cruising through the city centre looking at the sights. I am dissapointed Colin, post something pornographic immediately in the members section, I will be watching........
  6. Take it from someone who loves the RX7 - me! An auto RX7 you are getting between 12-14mpg average, if you are careful, you can get nearly double that from the supra.... As you will probably be aware, the engine rebuilds on this are circa £2500, although the engine has fewer moving parts, the form of the 13B engine means you have to maintain it so much more! (how much time do you have, if you are busy, you could neglect checking the car) Supras you check the oil weekly, RX7 daily. Although you DO NOT put synthetic oil in a 13B engine, as the oil conditioners react badly to the carbon apex seals of the engine, hardening them and making them prone to failure. The 7 is a beautiful car, make no mistake, it handles like a missile and goes like one too. I consider it to be a light sprinter, not a GT car, like the others. 7's are a bastard round town, hate low rev driving, grumble when they are driven round town - I have never driven a car with such idosynchrasies. I trust you have done your homework, if you are going for a 7, make sure that you are getting at least 7 on the compression test, and make sure that the front and back rotor are no more than 5-10% different, they should be the same. If you wife wants a lovely looking car, which is well mannered and a bit of a tart when she wants it to be get the SUPRA!!!! GTO's like someone else said are expensive to repair and have a habit of eating gearboxes and transfer boxes. I did my homework, when Iw as looking at a jap sports-car, as I looked at them... The weigh about 1800kg, which is a lot! The amount of people who own Supra's on here and drive them to within of thier lives, is uncountable. The supra is such a strong, reliable car. Why did BMW fear it, when it first came out? Sorry for my ramble, hope you find your wife a perfect car!
  7. NA or TT? I wouldnt worry, could be the weather? Mine used to do this and it is fine... Dont worry!
  8. Keep ringing him! He is very busy...
  9. When you get hooked up, with a car. let us know, weoften have mini meets at York, blast down the A19 for you! Good luck, Jurgen will make you proud!
  10. Shame that engine is not a non-vvti, as I would have had it.
  11. Doc, whereabouts in North Yorkshire are you?
  12. Courier would probably be about £40. Ok let me know.
  13. No corrosion whatsoever on mine! Let me know if you want it and we can work something out... How would you get it? I am in East Yorkshire, Hull
  14. I was offered £150, with a bonnet, so £190 without, as is. Bargain considering the scoop alone, before painting is £110
  15. I am selling my UK spec bonnet in white, it has the full scoop and the all important water trap and air channel on the underside. The bonnet itself is in good condition apart from a little pin dent in the front, where my big clumsy thumb made it! Only very small though. Naturally this would not be a problem, if you are repainting it as the body shop would take 20 minutes to sort it out! This is a straight sale, no swapsies, as I have a stock J-Spec going back on. Dragon has shown some interest and has made dibbs, but if he decides he doesnt want it, anyone else? Thanks!
  16. For the love of good JB, dont give it to the kids, that will be worth a fortune in a few years, I have seen vintage ones go for good money now!
  17. Good lad! Thats a quality idea, we could have a buggy race!
  18. Me too, strapped two batteries to it and bypassed the resistor, thing was dangerous! VERY FUNNY though!
  19. Dude that some set up! The PC that is!
  20. They have! http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/product.asp?productid=5987&catCode=52&tamiya=268
  21. Cant believe my eyes! Here is the blurb: Return of the Frog! First introduced in 1983, the 2WD racing buggy Frog made a huge splash with its eye-catching design and high performance running. The Frog now makes a comeback, updated for a new age, but with its basic structure essentially unchanged. Preserving its characteristic space frame, the oil dampers for trailing-arm type rear suspension have been updated to diaphragm type. Rear drive shaft features dogbone type joint for secure power transmission. Sleek polycarbonate body remains the same, while 3-piece wheels feature front grooved and rear spike tires for excellent off-road running. 2WD Chassis Packed with Innovation Electric R/C racing buggy features ABS space frame and nylon suspension and bumper for a lightweight yet rugged form that is perfect for off road running. Battery is held in ultra-low position, giving this car the stability and weight balance to handle rough terrain and wild jumps. Advanced 4-wheel independent suspension composed of front double wishbone type featuring in-board spring and durable steel radius arm. Rear trailing arm type features horizontally mounted aluminum cylinder oil dampers for effective shock absorbtion. Sealed differential gearbox ensures high speed cornering, while full ball bearings and 3-step gear ratio secures maximum transmission efficiency. Does anyone remember them, I used to stare at the kit in the window of my local model shop, many years ago, wishing I could afford it!
  22. would say it is not a wasp, as the majority of that insect group have profound detached abdomens, that picture shows the insect has a wide one-piece body. Dont know if anyone else has noticed that hover-flies are getting stripes like wasps, as a protection scheme. Perhaps this fly has adopted the same?
  23. Got the cam covers off, had a look at the damage, wondered, what you guys think? The pencil is there to show where the shaft is that the plastic cover screw into.... These where what were filled..
  24. Cam Cover s/h but as new £30 Is this the spark plug cover or the actual cam covers? If it is the cam covers, I will have!
