My garden project (fao Rosie)

After getting a quote of over £5k for someone to come and landscape our (rather small) back garden, Genna and I decided to give it a go ourselves.

The project involved a big center peace pond, a border around the garden which 'slips' into the pond, a token piece of grass to add some colour, some usable decking at the end of the garden which goes over the edge of the pond and has a BBQ, and finally a bridge over the pond. Well we've done all of it except the bridge so far, but that shouldn't take too long - should it Lazarus :)

Anyway, Rosie asked some time ago for me to post up pictures of the work done, so here they are.

the early ones look like an archelogical dig, nice one doing it yourselfs
Yes well, it didn't take us long to discover that our back garden used to be some old farm barns. So there was concrete floors and stone walls to dig through.

But we managed it, and without the aid of a digger too. :)

Actually that looks great, looked like loads of hard work. You must be both well chuffed with the results. :)
Yeah we are, shame it's the reason for the mud on my drive, but that's another thread! :D

You can pop round and see next weekend if you want - after the meet.

Just Thought miracle you didnt find a pipe!
We did, picture 10, so we had to change the design slightly. We were going to have it 4ft deep all along but instead we made one half 4ft and the other 2ft. It actually worked out better that way as it makes maintenance easier.

That looks really good! I'm seriously, really impressed. Well done Genna!

Next time get Lee to do some of the work and you can take pictures of him working :D

Genna did her fair share.... but my years of eating dominos pizza meant I was better equiped for breaking through the concrete and stone. :)
