Incredible work. Great write up and brilliant photo record. Really impressive, so clean and great attention to detail. Great to see how you've used the car in the past and how you're now spending the time and money on an outstanding rebuild, well done sirΒ πŸ‘.Β

Thanks very much, you just wait and see what's going to be posted here in the next month or so! I'm beyond excited to get it back as I haven't had the car since 11th  November 22 😁

Does look good.Β  What was your process for restoring this?

Thanks

So it was as follows...

1. Engine degrease

2. Clay bay

3. Super resin polish x3

4. Fast glass over lettering on a tight rag to remove polishΒ

5. Wet sand lettering very very lightlyΒ

6. Liquid chrome paint on lettering x3

That looks great, well done. How did you pick out the lettering and logo? Is it a decal or hand painted?

Thanks, the lettering and logo are liquid chrome paint pens, different sizes nibs for the varying sizes of fonts

Nice. 😍

What chemicals did you use for cleaning all the hardware?

Cheers

I'm not doing it, pcheshire automotive is. Its well above my skill set haha

It's all been taken apart, blasted and then all little parts have been zinced, there's 3 different colours of zinc used throughout the engine resto just as it was when it left the factoryΒ IMG-20221214-WA0008.thumb.jpg.3ff968d46a25aa10cff8ddd89e1748c8.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0012.thumb.jpg.daaea446f47ab3bf22f5534f2b23c809.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0014.thumb.jpg.33d673d9a7a470c16cfd18654cd6696d.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0013.thumb.jpg.669f8672ab4911f594b9ac838b732f56.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0009.thumb.jpg.846671eedb165ed170c7a9779d79d613.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0011.thumb.jpg.2b8880a7fbfa3c1f5e302abf889692ed.jpgIMG-20221214-WA0015.thumb.jpg.dfc51cc69ab5a96dfdfb97919a2fee60.jpg

I have read, that pcheshire is crazy good, but this is remarkable...3Β shades of zinc coating to copy original shades? That is next level. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Yep he doesn't do things by half's, when you look at the competition it just doesn't compare. I had quotes from maybe half a dozen companies and when you ask them how they'd go about it you can tell who is a slap dash man and who really knows what they're doing, Paul was the only guy who gave me the confidence that he knew exactly what he was doing.

Paul used to build formula 1 engines before he started his own shop, so you know his attention to detail is second to none!

Below I've attached a few photos of the work of the "competition" I won't name any of them as its unfair but you get the gist of it.

To some people the work below is perfect, to me not so much...

So yesterday I picked the car up and all I can say is WOW. Paul and Joe have gone above and beyond and it looks brand new.

POV: its 1993 and you walk into your toyota dealership to check out the new supra!

β€’every single pipe, hose and virtually every clip is new

β€’everything completely disassembled and rebuilt with new seals

β€’every nut, screw, bolt, washer and several other parts re zinced (not 1 zinc colour but 3 different colours to match oem)Β

β€’turbos rebuilt with steel internals and portedΒ

β€’new turbo actuators and bovΒ

β€’new ps pumpΒ

β€’new bonnet insulator (awaiting delivery)

β€’several new plastic parts (some im still waiting on)Β

β€’new bonnet insulator (still waiting on)

β€’everything vapour blasted or painted in oem coloursΒ

β€’many many many hours have gone into this!

theres probably lots more I can't think of!!!

The end result is nothing short of perfect, Enjoy!!!

Now I'm just waiting on battery terminal cover, fuse box lid and bonnet insulator.

Once these are fitted I'm going to put all the new stickers on and it's done!

Little drive shot on the way home 😁
