supra v160 6 speed getrag gearbox full manual conversion wirh triple plate clutch

Selling my v160 gearbox with exedy triple plate clutch, with clutch master an slave cylinder and clutch pedal.

 

So everything you need to convert to a tt6 setup.

 

£7500 for the lot including delivery anywhere in the uk, can arrange international shipping if so required.

 

Gearbox is still currently fitted in my car, works perfect and can be seen working.

 

Car has been to lee at srd last year

when I looked into the tremec 6 speed conversion it was just over 10k for a drive in/drive out from tt auto to tt6 speed tremec.

roughly the same price for bmw f80 dct conversion drive in/drive out.

 

Not a bad price considering the rarity of getrag boxes atm though

Todays old Getrag, will sooner or later become tomorrow's new Tremec.

Hi all,

 

Yes going dct just pulling the trigger on a f80 bmw dct m4 gearbox.

 

Some of you maybe aware im a wheelchair user and cant operate the clutch pedal, i have had fitted a system that operates the clutch pedal for me at a touch of a button that is mounted on the gear stick.

 

However it did work perfectly for afew months, but now will not pull the clutch enough for me to even get the car out the garage.

 

The dct system with paddle shift with be perfect for me, having owned nissan gtrs and porsche gt3 pdk, and manyothers. It seems a better option.

 

This clutch system I have had fitted on escort cosworths a clio williams and a subaru rb320, however aint cant cope with the resistance on the triple plate clutch as my supra is running over 800bhp and approx 650lbft

 

So this is why the change to dct and is still available despite all the replies.

Why not just save yourself a load of money and go with a built supra auto? Or think outside the box and grab a ZF 8HP transmission from the new Zupr4. The DCT technology is supposed to be coming to an end with BMW concentrating their efforts on that new gearbox.

 

When you add up the price of a built auto box, high stall, etc its not that far off from a DCT conversion.

(especially if you already have an aftermarket ECU)

Depends which DCT hes going for. If it's the whifbitz one i think the tunnel needs quite drastic modification. Personally i'd want to avoid any major modification to the car body.

Whifbitz is also offering M4 (and other inline 6) DCT conversions now. The M4 DCT only needs minimal tunnel modifications, nothing a rubber mallet can't handle. No cutting required with that box. I have it in my Supra as well (I didn't buy the Whifbitz kit however, just some adapters).

Cheers for your educated comment, how are you finding the box and installation?

 

Think I have this sold, I have a guy coming to view an try my manual box next weeked, he keeps blowing up auto boxes. He seems to appreciate the value of the v160. Cheers

Installation was pretty straight forward. I had to do a custom cross member though. If you buy the Whifbitz kit, you'll have a P&P solution. From a driving perspective I'm still in the tuning phase but I already love it. Upshifts on low-medium load are already quite nice but downshifts are a bit rough. I am still on an engine base map. My VE table is only usable up to 0.5ish bar of boost, hence I haven't tried any high load upshifts.

Whenever I pull the paddle and get a smooth shift it puts a big smile on my face :D
