Chris Wilson Posted August 25, 2015 Share Posted August 25, 2015 Assuming the car isn't a rot box, I would put the *RUBBER* pads under the sill points, but bear in mind the load is then spread evenly over the 4 points. Mk4Gaz Posted August 25, 2015 Share Posted August 25, 2015 Mine are all crumpled, from the previous owner. Really annoys me! I've straightened the rears back out, and have yet to do the fronts. I jack the front up with a low trolley jack, that just about slides between the wheel and wing, and lift off the front cross member. Having a trial rear, means I can't get to the diff when jacking up the rear, so I bought a hard rubber pad with a slot in it, specifically for sills. j_jza80 Posted August 26, 2015 Share Posted August 26, 2015 You should have thought about that before lowering your car! some scissor jacks go pretty low, might be worth having a look in your local breakers yard to see if there's any smaller ones.
