I love restoration threads like these, it's a nice contrast to the US forums where most builds are focused around the engine bay and drivetrain (which is also fine btw).

Since you're going for 100% perfection I'm really curious what your solution for the discontinued firewall insulator 55223-14030 is. Re-using the old one which is ~30 years old, or just leave it off?

That's a very good question, which I've yet to properly consider.  I will try and reuse my original one.  I need to check on its condition as I've not paid too much attention to it thus far.

I have decided on a paint colour though, purists read no further.

I've decided to go with Lamborghini Grigio Avalon (LGA) (0049).  Kane did a load of sprayouts for me.  My wife and I pondered them for a few days and were in agreement on the colour choice.  We were very tempted by the current GR Supra turbulence grey, and Kane did a great 196 toyota grey blend with more metallic flake that also looked good.  However, on seeing the LGA I fell in love again.  I say again as my last Supra was resprayed this colour, and I now remeber why I liked it so much.

The original 6N0 grey just has too much green in it.  If I sprayed the car it's original colour I'd be doing it for someone else, and this is entirely for me!

Kane has also now seam sealed the car inside and out and we should have colour inside the car for the end of the week.

Seam sealer isn't being replicated as it would come from factory as its just slapped on with a brush.  We've gone for a far neater application.
