Very nice engine bay and great pics! Off topic and just an observation, where does the cold air for your oem air box come from now you have fitted a slam planel over the rad and stock ducting, have you made a hole under the airbox and provided a channel from the vent area?

I thought the NA only had the top one, but I must be mistaken.

Take a look at the pictures in this ad:

Theres two in that picture mate ;) can just seen the corner of the bottom one

Yes you are right, I can see it now:thumbs:. Although it probably doesn't matter too much on yours, but having the slam panel is still blocking 50% of your possible cold air feed though. It's someting I noticed at JAE, just how many cars were running a slam panel with a stock air box. When I took mine to pieces earlier in the year I realised that in stock form the air coming in from the front of the nose cone is divided in two by the oem plastic ducting, half goes to the rads and the other half goes up and is forced into the top air scoop, obviously fitting a slam panel blocks this off.

Lovely looking car you have though.

Hi guys,

To pick up where Scott left off, I'll introduce myself. My name's Matt Shaw and I work for Japanese Performance Magazine and will be writing and compiling our little jamboree at Bruntingthorpe. We're looking to get it organised and shot before Christmas, so please let everyone who may have something suitable know and it'll give us a greater range of cars to pick from. Massive thanks to all the owners who have already put their cars up on this thread, we're looking to make a choice in the very near future. One thing which Scott didn't mention, which I think would be great to include for the sake of a bit of variety, is a V8 conversion. This will then make the line-up NA, NA-T, NA-S, NA-TT(if we have one here), TT BPU and V8. If we can find a good example of each of these with something to offer up against a factory TT, that would be perfect. This is not a feature about cheque book cars that have been built with a shed load of money and a shopping list, so we would like to see attainable cars that put out healthy power figures on a relatively low budget, yet still stick it up the factory TT.

Think would be nice to have a vvti t and a vvti tt down there as they are diffrent as well :)

Not really what we're looking for for this feature Neil, but it would be great to do a side by side comparison of the two in the future maybe. We really just want to show that the factory TT may not be the only top dog out there nowadays and with so many options to choose from you can have a Supra with the pace and power of a TT for a lot less money than you'd expect.

I have a factory UK spec TT if you're looking for something to compare to.

I won't be back from Florida until the 20th and mine isn't in any of the categories you listed

Mine would be NA-TT BPU+ still on a W58 5 speed manual:blink:

Looks like there is actually quite a few of us running a fair whack of power through these mere W58 gearboxes. I'm amazed mine is still in one piece to be fair... drag launches... 285 r888's... 4 puck stage 5 paddle clutch... lsd... and boost! Must be a recipe for disaster :innocent:

Yeah, to be honest I have no idea what sort of figures I am running, but the lack of traction in 4 gears on decent 265 rears would suggest good figures

Plan to get it on the dyno very soon

To be honest, I am wondering if the lack of traction is saving my gearbox

I guess as I started the thread, I had better offer my car if it is of use.

I bought the car back in 2003 as a stock 1995 MKIV Supra SZ 5 speed W58. In the ten years I have owned it, it have done a variety of mods from styling, to handling and power. All of the mechanical work as been carried out at my house, only bodywork and engine map has been done by professionals. I went NA-T about 5 years ago, the whole kit, ecu and map cost around £1300. All the individual parts were sourced second hand on this forum, with only a few items purchased brand new. Info was fairly scarce on this forum at the time, so I relied heavily on the NA-TForum in the States. The initial power after the first map was 374BHP. This year I fitted a Boostwerx front facing inlet, and Accufab throttle body, Oil Cooler and an uprated fuel pump. After a remap it is approx 400BHP, although not dyno proven at this stage.

Engine Spec:

2JZGE with Stock Compression and internals

T70 Turbo on a T3 flange running 0.5 bar boost

Unknown manifold

40mm external Wastegate and screamer pipe

GodSpeed FMIC

Boostwerx Inlet Manifold

Accufab 80mm Throttle Body

Jetex Air Filter

HKS style BOV

Sytec FPR

Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump

Greddy Emanage Blue

3Bar Map Sensor

Drift Works Oil Cooler

HKS Timing Belt

JIC Billet Race Exhaust
