I got my renewal quote from sky at the start of Feb, it was over £100 more than i was paying the previous year which was around £1050 for both my Supra and my mini. It was a rediculous quote which i was never going to accept to ended up insuring the cars seperately in the end. The mini is under classic insurance with Adrian Flux for £199, the Supra is with Competition Car Insurance after Jurgens thread, and it was £530 fully comp for the year. Both are insured as just me as the driver, so no mums/gf's on there to bring the prices down. I'm 27 and have 4 years no claims. CCI was about £200 cheaper than anyone else. I saved around £400 in total :D

The only issue with CCI is there seems to be a few clauses that other members have mentioned which

would really concern me

If you are referring to my comments on cci, then I was wrong :) The only exemption that troubles me is the no third party cover to drive cars not owned. I thought that the car had to be home at night(after 10pm) and a few others but after reading the policy thoroughly they don't apply to me.

If it wasn't my comments you were referring to then any other info would be good.

I found CCI to be the best out of all of the specialised companies I phoned, not only because of the lowest price but also the friendly service. Need2insure were my second choice as they were great too. They even told me how good CCI were as they use them for their trackday cover. Need2insure can also do agreed value but only on OEM cars. All the others I have seen recommended were either too expensive or just couldn't be bothered to pick up their phones or ring me back after I left a message that I needed a quote.

Well thats good to hear as that was one of my concerns, my other is the agreed value side as its not agreed

and you will have to prove your car is worth x amount which might be a problem.

Only time will tell with that and if anyone we know has to claim, thats the only true time you

really know how good your insurance is.

Absolutely agree, hopefully no one here needs to find out. Its with Aviva so I'm hoping that there won't be issues. If I had a truly perfect supra with huge power and a lot of money invested then I'd want agreed value.

£1942!!!!!!

the damn robbing bitches!

was £1400 now went up to that..

now have 4 years driving exp and 4 years no claims!!

with sky insurance....

any one got any ideas on who else?

EDIT: 24 years old!

Hi,

the increase is not in line with our current renewals.. have you had a change of circumstance that is not mentioned in this thread, eg an address change or change of vehicle?

Please get in touch with our renewals team to discuss this, more often than not we can look at your details and find a way to reduce the costs.

Feel free to to PM me.

Thanks

Try A-Plan. They've given me the best price for the past 2 years and I shopped round loads (around £640 per year for a '96 J-Spec TT). Sky were almost double. Tell them it's an import before you go through all the figures first so they can send you to the right dept.

Can I ask what has changed as sky said that the renewal was not in line with their increases? Give CCI a ring. I am getting fed up with inflated renewals every year, Admiral lost my business this year after a 25% increase. When I phoned to cancel as I was now insured with someone else they told me I should have phoned as they could have saved me money. The bloke says its normal to haggle from renewal time as the renewal price is just there to give them somewhere to haggle from. I do haggle every year but I'm bored with the insurance game now. They can suck my socks in future. All I want is a decent renewal price in line with inflation not just a figure that they pluck out of the air to 'try it on'.

Echoing Rob's and Dnk's comments, I'm also interested to know how £600 was knocked off the OP's premium. I applaud Ollie for taking the time to post in this thread and I'm pleased that the OP got a quote that he is happy with. I'm curious as to whether it was a drop in something like the estimated mileage: if so, it's not a like-for-like quote comparison.

tbh do not want to sound like a king but I live in a nice area.. 4 bathrooms in our property YO :p;) LOL!

anyways have no idea at all I just phoned them up and I said just got my renewal it was abit high in price and is there anything they could do for me.. got back to me on that price so.. same information given.. same miles yearly etc

tbh like said, they seem to want to make you haggle on insurance when phoning them on renewal time, I think they just say that renewal price on paper to be cheeky mabys..

damn so CCI need to be over 25??????

:(

tbh happy with sky always been sweet!
