Two questions for you mate;

What will you do about the gaps between the tank/frame & the boot floor?

I will be making either a plate of carbon or Aluminum sheet to fill the gaps like it was before.

Is that set-up still in need of a firewall between the boot area & the cockpit to be completely MSA/FIA compliant?

Correct, I will be making a flat firewall to go over the entire rear section to cover the tank and seal the boot area in. Shame to cover it all up really. Ah well :D

Impressive attention to detail.

Cheers :)

Thought you might, excellent move.

Will this affect the position of the filler, it was on the C pillar up until now wasn't it?

A nice set-up exiting below the firewall, between the two rear lights would be ze cherry on ze top!

Correct, It was up on the C Pillar. This will be removed and filled back in.

I am not sure where exactly I am going to fit the filler unit, If I cant decide by the time I am due out on track then I will have a hatch on the firewall (Which is still within guidelines) so I can fill the tank directly.. although thats a bit of a Faff..

Having the filler between the two lights would be awesome, I will need to look into that a little further I think :)

Ah that's cool. The only thing is Dry break fuel systems like that, cost mega bucks.

Your probably looking at £2k all in... and thats just for the filler caps (£700), filler probe (also £700) and fuel bottle (£500+)

Shame as it does look good but I don't think I can stretch to that sort of money just to fill the tank :(

I may do a similar style but have a single filler hole.

I already have a rain light, I am going to be putting it in the Fog light part of the rear lights.

I will Have a center plate between the two lights with a ATL filler on it and a vent for the tank. Probably wont get a chance to do that though until later on.

For now I will fill the tank directly by fitting a hatch on the firewall.

Done some more to the cage today and also started to do final fittings. unfortunately not all the fuel line fittings arrived in time for today so was unable to start actual installation, but even so it's starting to look like progress.

More AN teflon fuel fittings arrived last night.

I have more on the way as well... must have spent a cool fortune of these so far :)

I did also get the vice clamp attachments so I can install the fittings properly without damaging the nice anodized coating..

Is there a multitude of reasons to use these fittings and braided lines?

I ask because, being in the forklift industry, none of it seems too far removed from the hydraulic lines & fittings I'd be used to.

I mean, all the lines we use would also be steel braided, but with an extra outer protective covering of rubber, the fitting types & sizes are practically endless but most of what I see being used and described as AN fittings here I'd call JIC although not in anodised aluminium, just plated steel.

Apart from the obvious weight saving is there something special about fuel set-ups that requires specialist hoses & fittings?
