dude Posted July 5, 2011 Share Posted July 5, 2011 The Turbo is going to have to go back to the manufacturer, Im sure this is a one off but a severe set back all the same, we are going to be very busy in the coming month so the car will prob have to take a back seat, anyway chin up, the car made reasonable power so the set up must be pretty close but ive had a niggling feeling about the turbo for a little while now, I can't elaborate as i need to discuss this with my turbo guy but im quite happy it is a complete one off. dude Posted July 6, 2011 Share Posted July 6, 2011 Brilliant news a new turbo has already been sent out !!!!! Now if any of you guys know anything about turbo companies they will normally just try the big swerve, for Comp to do this is unbelievable and I will now have no hesitation in reccomending and supplying these, I spent 6 month trying to get precision to even repair a turbo I was willing to pay for and when they looked at it they basically wanted the same price as a new turbo to put an exhaust wheel on it. I will also get a report on why this actual one failed but apparently it is a complete one off and there are now a few very big hitter cars in the states using and winning with these turbos, they have said the turbo would not have been working properly leading up to the failiure hence the lower than they expected HP figures !!!!!!!!!!!!!! While the turbo is off we are going to pull the motor and change the oil pump, the repair on the thread for the tensioner mount is not going to be up to it so i would rather just fit a new pump.
