Well, you'll find many a auto v manual debate on here - but I've never heard the actual box criticised. The autobox on the Supra is absolutely brilliant - I'll sing it's praises all day long in my TT. Many a friend have tried to slag off the fact that it's an autobox, but as they all drive Astras and the like, they can all ram it. Nevermind the fact that you can't get TT aerotop manuals stock anyway (save for the US)... To be honest, I am thinking of swapping mine for a manual, but that's more to do with future plans on swapping my twins for a small single turbo.
