  1. does anyone know if it's possible to connect the Clifford remote start module (or alternative brand) to a different manufacturer's system, i.e. Laserline? i'd love the remote start functionality but don't fancy having to replace the whole alarm/immobiliser, just wondered if i could add it on if my Laserline had an appropriate output for it
  2. i'll ring & check seat sizes for you if you like? i'm sure you'll have no problems, Bowser & Donkey Kong don't seem to have a problem in MarioKart i need to get payments in for those who want to go so hit me with the bread guys, if you're coming
  3. nice one chaps - if we have one more you've got a team of 4 sorted already! the guys at my work are people who've been karting before but no-one is a pro or anything the guy who is organising it i think is pretty good & does alot of karting but the event is just a general corporate event for anyone interested i can't bloody wait!!!
  4. I've been offered some spare places on a pro karting event at 3 Sisters Race Circuit (near Wigan). It's a 2 hour Endurance race in teams of 4 in twin-engined pro karts. There's also a 30 minute timed practice/qualifying session beforehand. Driver & re-fuelling strategy is left to the team. The circuit is about 1000m in length & the karts are powered by 2 x unrestricted 160cc Honda 4 stroke engines. This is considered to be the next step up from indoor karting & is a proper kart racing circuit, as used by the RAC British Kart Grand Prix. The karts are capable of speeds up to 70mph! It's £45 per person, teams of 4 required. The event starts at 6pm. I'm going with a few lads from work so i thought i'd see if anyone else fancies joining us? Monies will need to be paid in advance, either to me & i'll pass it on or i can give you the details of the organiser & you can pay him directly. He's organising it for people at my old company. They have 12 teams so far & the event can have up to 20 teams so it should be an eventful event! To me, this looks like the ultimate karting event. Anyone up for it?
  5. i defy anyone to go & look at the trailers for Metal Gear Solid 4 and say they won't be getting a PS3 for that badboy!!!
  6. is this all still appropriate for auto Supras or aimed at manuals?
  7. PMd heartworm hi there mate, answers to your Qs: wireless no probs, you can easily use a USB wireless adapter (i did have one connected to it whilst i was using it but have kept hold of this for another PC) i think the spare wheel would be fine but as long as it was well cushioned - i think the key would be not to have it bashing around in there, perhaps seated on a foam base or a flexible piece of wood? the fan is on the top of the case so it would require ventilation at the top to ensure it stays nice & cool sat nav, again this is no problem, you just need the right software (i'm not sure which one you'd choose but this is a common application to run on the car PC). what you would need is a USB GPS mouse to go with it. there's one that i'm giving away with the PC but i couldn't get it to work hence why it's free as i can't be sure if it works as for sound, you would either need a head unit with a line in connection for you to connect the output of the sound card directly into there or you would need an amp to connect the sound card to & then run your speakers through the amp instead of through a head unit
  8. interesting to know mate cheers. may i ask what made you upgrade to the 6? apart from it looks fantastic
  9. thanks, but was looking for something more recent, sorry
  10. i'd be willing to trade for a decent electronic boost controller with cash either way
  11. there's usually folks there till 9-10pm at least, depends on the turnout & what time others start heading off usually
  12. still available - replied to all those interested
  13. i just recall my AVC-R requiring RPM/injector/speed signals in order to do the advanced boost controlling options so assumed some others would be the same
  14. how do you find it for boost spikes anywhere on the rev range Nic or how it compensates for this by finding the right boost level a bit slower (think this was the duty setting on the AVC-R) and do you know if the EVC VI is a dual solenoid? do you also know if any of these controllers have a MKIV harness available to save hacking into wires?
  15. try Nic, i believe he fitted one & can also get them for a very reasonable price - it definitely looks the nuts, but i've not found out whether it's a dual solenoid one yet
  16. Mike, i also have your walkie talkie to give back from the Supra Pod - remind me as it's in the glove box & i'll probably forget otherwise!!
  17. cheers dude, i feel a lot happier about the wreckless removal that was undertaken on Sunday now!
  18. i think i'll be going for a dual solenoid for better response when i get round to getting one - i have always liked the display on the Apexi AVC-R but it's a model that's been around for a while now so i guess the newer ones will have some improvements
  19. try sending garetheves a PM if col's don't work out, i think he has a HKS set with one pipe missing, which you could pickup from somewhere
  20. who will be coming down next week then? RSVP in the calendar item here http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/calendar.php?do=getinfo&c=1&day=2007-5-14 i've finally got something new to show off since Gaz helped me fit my front mount at the weekend
  21. ah yes, that's the fella! to the right behind the crash bar do you know what exactly it's for? assuming the non-facelifts did ok without it, i'm of the opinion it should be fine being removed although i am wondering about getting a couple of new brackets made up to make the intercooler sit further forward and a touch lower so it will sit more flush with my Do Luck bumper
  22. all sorted - found one of the pipes completely disconnected (one of the ones that Gaz had connected ). Unfortunately, it was one right at the bottom behind the drip tray so it was a bumper off job again - bit of a ballache but it's done now just took it out for a blast & it seems to be holding boost fine now didn't get much opportunity to test it properly to try & appreciate the difference but it definitely feels different - laggy at lower speeds but strong pull at higher throttle? maybe it's just me i also had to disconnect the battery at one point so the ECU will have reset & i wondered whether that would have changed the drive of the car again whilst it learns my driving again thanks again to all - especially Gaz who spent a good 12 hours here yesterday helping me do the job which i couldn't have done on my own - what a guy
  23. i've just had to remove a fan from the front of the radiator (the bumper side rather than the engine side) to fit the FMIC in mine's a facelift which i thought might have been the reason for it being there, but if yours is pre-facelift Daman then i'm wondering if it's an auto thing, since Gareth Eves didn't have one on his manual i'll grab a picture of it later
