  1. shall see you guys there - looking forward to seeing matt's orange-mobile (cue Matt: "it's not orange, it's candy tangerine")
  2. if anyone has Ian's number will you give him a txt or a call just to make sure he's remembered too
  3. wahey! tomorrow night here we come! i'm aiming to leave work about 4 and get there in good time & maybe grab some tea too if there's time, so say about 5-5.30pm? everyone still ok to come? saw Gaz out last night getting some practice in...
  4. are there any issues with rain getting under the bonnet at all? and have you got a straight sale price?
  5. thanks all, feel a bit better about it now. already sourced a magnetic pickup tool in the meantime so i'll give that a try, just in case it is magnetic & within range! think i'll get some of that 4Life & flush the radiator anyway since i've replaced the knackered cap & had bubbling in the expansion tank/empty expansion tank so hopefully it will turn up then
  6. many thanks for the replies chaps Pete, i like yours best it's the most confident! are you 100% on this? i was thinking of getting one of those telescopic magnetic tools & seeing if i could fish it out for piece of mind really & not drive it any more until then. i've got access to another car while my mum is away on holiday so it doesn't need to go anywhere thanks again all for your replies
  7. what did you do in the end jim? i've just lost my spring into the rad too when replacing the cap
  8. got my new rad cap today... then this happened http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=1466259
  9. i was just replacing my radiator cap with a new one and as i took the old one off, the insides all came apart & the little spring that was under the cap went into the radiator & sunk into the water am i goosed or is there a nice little mechanism to stop it finding it's way round the engine & into the water pump or something? i had to drive it a few miles to get home too
  10. i've got 3 lads from work going (me, Spencer, Ian & James) and then there's your good self, Gareth Eves, Gaz's mate Cav and Ian (shytot) then, for a 3rd team, my dad is coming & there's a couple more lads at work who say they are coming but haven't actually paid as yet i paid all your monies to the organiser on Thursday
  11. nice one chaps, thankyou and should i be ensuring that the expansion bottle cap is WELL sealed too? i was under the impression that this was supposed to allow a little ventilation somehow or am i completely wrong and the whole system from end to end needs to be completely pressurised?
  12. great thread, thanks for posting up Pete i got home from the monthly NW meet last night to hear a strange noise (which i initially thought was someone scrambling around on the roof of the garage!) which turned out to be a large amount of bubbling going on in the expansion tank with the engine switched off :O i daren't take the expansion tank cap off to see if it was just steam blowing through the water or the water actually boiling, but when it continued for about 10 mins i assumed it was steam blowing through i left it to cool & when i came back to the car this morning, i found the expansion tank empty. i topped this back up to full & checked the rad cap, which came off with the little spring falling out at the same time. the water level appeared to be at the neck so i assumed this to be ok so, my question is, should i be replacing the rad cap since the spring was not attached. a key factor i think is that my expansion tank is a small greddy replacement one that came with my front mount intercooler and the cap does not clip on very well, i.e. it could quite easily allow spits/dribbles of coolant out/steam as it was doing last night. as i'm typing this it already sounds really obvious that this needs sorting but i'm also unsure about the rad cap now i've read this thread cheers, wes
  13. they only stock them down south don't they?
  14. lol, tell me about it. but unfortunately it will have to be the first people to pay that get the places just so i can ensure we have groups of 4 etc
  15. shame Alan, if it's good then i'll be organising it again i think bonza if you can get some cash out of him for monday night i'll be able to get it all paid next week
  16. cheers, now let's find a nice boost controller... there's plenty of stuff usually over on http://www.digital-car.co.uk/forum
  17. cool - Gaz, Ian & Matt, shall get cash from you on Monday night. have you a 4th? i have someone at work who will make the 4th up if necessary
  18. have you sold the clear indicators? if so, where did you get them from?
  19. give me a shout if you can't find anywhere Gaz, my guy in Blackpool might be able to do a Saturday one for you if he's not got much on
  20. right i've got one team at work already & i'm collecting monies from them tomorrow - if you guys can get cash or cheque (made payable to '3 Sisters Race Circuit' and you would need to remember to bring your cheque guarantee card along with you to the event) to me on monday night at Mascrat i'll get it passed on to the organiser next week could do with a confirmed team of 4 really - where's Rob, Mike, Derek, Matt, etc, etc? come on guys this will be awesome!!!
  21. ebay item 270127453233 seems to suggest it can do the trick but it's a bit expensive to try without knowing whether it will work i'm just checking my Laserline instruction book now for whether it has an 'auxillary output'. it already has a window closure module on it so fingers crossed
