  1. I use Silkolene Pro too, I also get mine from Opie Oils. Think it's about £45 delivered, bit pricey but well worth it me thinks. As for de-restriction, do you mean removing the cats (BPU) or just delimiting the car from 112mph?
  2. Me and a couple of my mates want to get our cars dyno'd somewhere local to us. I have a standard auto TT, they have modded Scoobys. I suggested Thor but my mate reckons it's a bit pricey. For me it's £70 but for them it'll be £94 each (due to 4WD) Anyone know anywhere else local-ish to us? Bare in mind I'm auto....
  3. Jeez, your first car was a VR6? Either you're loaded or didn't pass your test til you were 45!
  4. Jesus! is the 2CV really a 0.6? I never knew that, I can't imagine what they're like to drive!
  5. I had my Sup MOT'd today and couldn't help but smile at the young apprentice helping the tester do the MOT. He was grinning from ear to ear when sitting in my Sup flicking indicators and what not, obviously sitting in a Supra was the highlight of his day. When he got out the car he said to me kinda embarrassed 'I bet its a bit quicker than my 1.1 Fiesta' I just smiled and said 'we've all gotta start somwehere' This got me thinking about all the cars I've owned and how I worked my way up the food chain! So what's your car history? Mines as follows.... '83 Fiesta 1.0L '87 Nova 1.3SR '91 Nova 1.4SR '88 XR3I '91 Renault 5 GT Turbo '90 XR3I '92 Rover 220 GTI '94 Celica GT '91 MR2 T bar '91 & '95 Renault 19 16V '92 GT4 '94 FTO GR '94 Celica GT '94 Supra TT' Top of the chain me thinks!
  6. I used to own a grey FTO V6 GR a couple cars before my Sup. I think they're a superb looking car (especially in black). The bonnet and headlights give a real muscular presence for a small car. The V6 sounds truely awesome too! You may already know this but (from memory) the models are as follows: 1.8L GS (wouldn't bother) 2.0 V6 GR (Ok but not that quick - I had this one) 2.0 V6 GPX ( 200bhp Mivec engine and the one to have) This is my opinion but the Tiptronic box sucks dick, it seemed to stay in too higher gear when going round corners or at low revs. It also gave that horrible stuttering drone you expect from an auto box. My other gripe with the FTO is the noisey tappets, mine sounded like a 1.0L Fiesta towards the end. I think with the GR model you have to replace them to cure it - and that's expensive!. With the GPX Mivec though you can adjust them rather than replace them which is a lot cheaper. When viweing any model make sure you see it started from cold. All that said I think they're a quality car and look the part, double check insurance tho as it can be pricey. And as said above, def don't pay no more than £6k. I'd say £5k would buy you a real nice low mileage black GPX with a few tasteful mods. Good luck dude! Your missus will look the part in an FTO no doubt!

This is so true, I'm already gutted knowing that by the end of April I would have downloaded and watched every epsisode. That means I'll have to wait a whole week for one measly episode like everyone in the US! Also, I should have got home tonight to find Season 2 all downloaded and ready to watch! Turns out my dole dossing brother cancelled the download this morning cus it was slowing down his internet surfing! (on my laptop!!!!)

Just discovered this! God knows how this passed me by all these years. I've lost large chunks of my life the past week watching the first season. Waiting for second season to download now and can't wait, Jack Bauer is the bollocks!
  9. Had my new Laptop a few weeks now and still haven't changed the default desktop pic. Just wondered what you guys and gals have as your desktop pic, I need some inspiration. Any links or pics?
  10. Kev, As already said mate don't let anybody else decide for you on whether to go for a TT or NA, test drive both then decide. Although, I too had reservations over the TT due to reliability but these were toally unfounded. The TT is definitely one of the most reliable supercars money can buy and you really shouldn't worry about things going wrong. If the car has been looked after (as with all cars) then it'll be perfectly reliable. I test drove both the NA and TT and I'm glad to say I went with the TT, if you have the purchase budget for the TT then you should seriously consider that. Harps, That seems a tad pricey for an NA Aerotop (Not TT) if that's what you're on about. As for the Auto concern then i'm afraid all Aerotops are Auto, well RHD ones anyway.
  11. Sort of a thread hijack, but anyone ever see the Simpsons episode where Barney is in Moe's Tavern? He turns to Homer and says 'Hey Homer, I'm so glad they banned testing drugs on animals cus people like me can really clean up! BUUURRPP' And with that he turns round and the back of his head is mutating into something gross. You have to see it to appreciate it but it's a class gag! :D
  12. Jeez, she must be really small!
  13. £365! Christ, lol. Think I'll paint my own!
  14. Cheers mate, will check out the seacrh button.
  15. Cheers Vin So is it hard to paint the lights? I'm taking my Sup to my dads unit in next few weeks to fit all my BPU stuff and do a full service, might do that while I'm there too Nic, how much are Jspec facelifts btw?....
  16. Anyone got a pic of facelight lights? The (yellow) headlights on my Sup are the only thing I don't like on it, makes the Sup look like a frog with bulging eyes imo! I was thinking about the eyelid option but was unsure.... Facelifts may be what I'm after....

Dude, I wouldn't be able to resist rising to him! People like him need to be proven wrong! I know a couple lads, one has a Clio 172 and the other a chipped 106. They both genuinely believe they can beat my Sup, I've yet to prove em wrong but can't wait to do so. The 172 might keep up to about 50mh on a wet day but still no match I reckon.
  18. Thanks for all the advice Mike, much appreciated. I'll def never stand over the barrel! Cheers!
  19. Mike, many thanks for the link! Top bloke The only beer I'd want is Carling/Stella (for me) and Guiness (for my Dad) I take it these would rely on Gas? Also, any ideas on the shelf life of these type of beers? I have no idea how many pints are in a barrel (approx 190 springs to mind?) so don't know how long it would take us to drink it. Both myself and my Dad are very fussy when drinking beer, neither of us will drink p1ss. Do you thing the inactivity on the pumps will cause the beer to deteriate(sp)?
  20. We've just bought an old farm house and we're moving in soon. We plan to convert the cellars into a Pool Room with Darts, arcade machines, sofas, tv, hi-fi etc etc Our very own pub!.... We also wanted to have some beer on draught down there. Anyone know exactly what equipment we need to pull a pint? Or anyone know somewhere on net which illustrates the set-up?
  21. Too true mate, that was the exact thing that put me off buying an Auto. It wasn't the drive but the sound the box makes. Only thing is, I bought an auto anyway! And tbh, I don't regret it one bit!
  22. Hey Jacko Lovely looking motor a and welcome to the club. So did you go for auto or manual? If you do a lot of commuting I guess the auto.... Also, don't worry too much about ABS mate. It's always a plus but not essential.
  23. I was toying with the idea of getting the NGK ones as they're a lot cheaper than the Iridium ones. Looks like my lack of funds has chose which set I'm having. Is that the correct part number for the ones I need for BPU? do I need any other info? I'll get me them next!
  24. Ok so maybe this aint the best idea but thought I'd ask anyway. My Sup is totally standard but I've just bought decat pipes and RSR exhaust (Cheers Clarkey). Now I really want to fit it but I'm missing pretty much all the other BPU stuff bar the restrictor ring. Would it be ok to drive the car and let the Sup's fuel cut kick in at 1 bar? Will it harm the car in anyway? I know I should wait til I have the new plugs, FCD, fuel pump etc etc but I'm REAL skint at the moment! It would be at least a month until I bought the other stuff

    JAE Question

I've checked out the JAE thread but couldn't see what I wanted to know. If I just went for the day how much does it cost to enter? Also, if I stayed over and camped any ideas how much that costs? Oh yeah, and if I did stay overnight what's the disco like? full of blokes or any birds too?
