  1. How do you vote for this? Is it a phone in on the day? As already said Calzaghe deserves it, at the moment anyway. But if Hatton does the unthinkable and beats Mayweather then he should win it hands down. To beat a 5 weight world champion considered the best boxer walking the planet is no mean feat! I'm a huge boxing fan and it frustrates me how British boxers get overlooked of late. As Jake says, it's all down to tv coverage. Hamilton will probably steal it though....
  2. Unlucky Andrew - this close to Xmas too? Any idea how this happened?? I don't have a credit card and only ever use my debit card - I know I'm not disciplined enought for a CC. My paypal account is set up as a DD too, is this how your details got leaked Edd?
  3. It totally serves me right, I opened a .exe file online and all hell's broke loose! I knew I shouldn't have risked opening it but I did! Apart from the adware, total slow down of pc, crashing of XP etc I'm getting 3 errors. One's a Regsvr32 error and the other 2 are RunDLL errors. All 3 refer to a .dll that couldn't be found or access denied etc. The errors are too long to post up here and I can't find them on net. I'm guessing I need some kind of registry cleaning tool? AVG has found plenty on my PC and removed it but to no avail. I can't do a system restore as I have no restore points! Any suggestions?
  4. Well I haven't really, I was just trying to find hotels in Tignes as suggested but having a little trouble getting one just for the weekend. They all want £400+ per person for a weeks stay. Skiing looks expensive!!
  5. Cheers dude There's an indoor slope not far from me in Tamworth so I was going to get a few lessons anyway. My mate just spent the last year in Whistler boarding so I was gonna get him to help me out too (plus borrow all his gear!) What site should I be looking at for booking hotels and flights? The ones I'm looking at seem overpriced! (I hope!)
  6. Blackie - I think you and me operate from the same page so best give that place a miss. Thanks for all the info guys, I'm not that fussed if it's difficult for begginers as I have total confidence I'd be good at it! Well snowboarding anyway as i used to skateboard... Anymore advice appreciated
  7. My girlfriend loves to Ski, although I've never done it myself. I thought I'd take her away in Feb for her birthday for a long weekend (3-4 days). I wanted to keep it a surprise and get it booked up but I haven't a clue where to take her! There's so many resorts that I just don't know where is best. I'm a total newb when it comes to this... We're already booked up for a 2 week holiday in the States in May so budget is a little tight. Easy Jet flights etc... Not fussed which country, just somewhere inexpensive but popular....
  8. There's really no other car out there that I want more then this! It's truely awesome!!! How much are these approx? As import or in the UK? And realistically how soon could you have one sitting on your drive? My old man wants a new car and has been looking at 2nd hand SL55's - I sooo want him to get one of these instead!

    Import

As Scott said mate You have no chance of getting a standard TT manual for £6k. Auto's are around that price (like mine that's for sale now! ) and even then you wouldn't get a 1998. You're looking at a pre facelift (93 - 96) TT with an auto box. The only manual you'll get for that price is a non-turbo.

    Hpi

Hi Guys This was my car in question! It was the guy before me who had the finance but he cleared the loan at the time of my purchase (I witnessed this). Turns out the stupid finance company (Fenton Finance) never de-registered the car from the HPI list even though the loan was cleared back in July and they had no further financial interest in the car! Bloody idiots, they've now de-reg'd the car and it's now HPI clear! I was a little angry to say the least! Paul - you have PM mate....

    Lost - Season 2

Yeah, as already said adjust your upload speed to something less - this would then leave more bandwidth for your downloading. I use Utorrent too and have been for a while, best program out there imo. Also, I know it's a very large file but I tend to try and download a whole season at once. Takes a good few days but you'll have more seeds on a whole season than you would on an individual episode that's 2 - 3 years old. Plus it's all there ready to watch whenever you have a spare hour... Check out the full seasons with plenty of seeds here
  12. I can't be arsed to read the entire thread but here's my view. Personally I couldn't care less if somebody posts in text speak or if they spell something wrong. There's one or two very respected members on here who's bad grammar and spelling is ignored yet if a newbie posted like they did they'd get flamed down. This double standard does annoy me! That said, of the 3 forums I use the spelling and grammar on this one is easily the best. My football team forum is worse than here but nothing compares to http://www.saddoboxing.com You think Scoobynet is bad, seriously check that place out! Mostly Americans, all into boxing - none of them can spell.
  13. Paul, you need to empty your inbox - I can't reply to your earlier PM. Cheers bud - Conrad
  14. Thanks for the re-assurance guys. I had factored in that Xmas was coming up but still thought I would have had more interest. I was thinking about dropping the price more to get it sold but I made that mistake last year with my BPU Sup pictured in my garage. I was desperate to go backpacking just after Xmas and let that go for a shocking £5600!! And trust me, that car was immaculate! I'll leave the pistonheads ad up and keep the one on this forum, if it sells then great. If not I'll wait til the spring. BMX1 - I think those things on the window are part of some GPS aerial that used to be on the car. Keep meaning to take them off...
  15. My TT has been up for sale now for nearly 2 weeks and although I thought it was fairly priced I've had very little interest. Just the one comment on the ad from this forum, a few silly cash offers from my ebay ad and a couple offers of px from my pistonheads ad. I know Supra's are dropping in price but I thought mine should be worth around £6.5k! I'm not one of them day dreamer sorts who thinks his '94 SZ is worth £6k either! If I have overpriced it then what is it actually worth? Advert Link
  16. Never noticed before that the Canon was a compact, not SLR-style. I was on my lunch so only got a quick look. As you say the FZ50 is more like a real camera. I think I'll go with this or something similar like the Samsung. The Samsung is heavier than the FZ50 but it's quite a bit smaller. Reckon I'll have a look in Jessops to get a feel for which one I prefer. Cheers for the advice...
  17. Cheers for that Michael - cool comparison website. Much appreciated!
  18. Cheers Harps The more I think about it the more a 'faux' SLR makes better sense to me. I liked the scope for learning with an SLR but I know I'd find it a PITA carrying Lenses around - what you and Michael have suggested sound more practical for holdiays etc and they can almost do as good a job as a real SLR. From what I can gather there's the Canon G9, Samsung Pro 815 and the Panasonic FZ50. I'm thinking either the G9 or FZ50. The Panasonic has a better zoom range but the G9 is a Canon.... I'll have a think If anyone has any other advice it's more than appreciated
  19. I think I'll have a read through the manual for my compact and start having a play. That said I think I'm still going to get an SLR or one as suggested by Michael. I'm in no rush to get one so will keep tabs on ebay until a bargain turns up. I like the idea of an SLR and would like to learn how to use one properly.
  20. Thanks for the replies guys Tom - my camera is this one I believe a lot of the settings can be changed manually unlike most compacts so what you've suggested is possible. My only concern was the lack of optical zoom for what I want and not being able to get wide enough shots for scenery. Plus shutter speed for getting those shots you really want etc... Michael, I was looking at cameras like you suggest actually - the ones that 'bridge' Compacts and SLR's - in particular this Samsung I just thought for the price of the Nikon D40 I may as well go for a full SLR - saying that though I haven't looked into the additional cost on lenses tbh... Any advice appreciated...
  21. I'm in the market for a budget SLR, something less than £300. I'm not looking to do this professionally or necessarily start photography as a hobby. I'd just like to be able to take better pictures than I can with my compact digital camera (Casio 7.0mp Exilim). After a recent trip to South America I couldn't help but being annoyed at how un-impressive my pictures looked compared to how impressive it really was. Pretty much all my wildlife pics from the Amazon were rubbish due to being too faraway or slow shutter speed.! None of my scenery pictures justified how beautiful the places really were... I'm off to Alaska in May and I want to be able to capture better pics of the wildlife and wider pics of the scenery. It seems I'm looking at a Nikon D40 kit but I've read that you have to get auto focus lens' for these? Does this really matter? Link for my camera choices
  22. I know nothing about this so I'm probably wrong but wouldn't it be better to have a co.uk address rather than a Greek one if you're targeting British customers? Does the .gr suffix effect google searchs etc....
  23. Very nice dude, congratulations! I'm in Wolves too so will keep an eye out for ya. As for the pics, I don't remember it snowing in Wolves today!
